While it lacks the greatness of Breaking Bad or Game of Thrones, it's still another winner in the HBO historical series. Honestly, I think they made a big mistake bringing the Darmondy affair to an end in the second season. It should have been a series- wide arc culminating in the final season, with James and the rest scheming to betray and undermine Nucky, and the latter slowly getting onto them, until it all comes clear. Still, it is what it is, and while Season 3's war against Gyp Rosetti seemed more like a one-off excursion, something bigger is brewing this season. Fan Favorites Chalky White and Richard Harrow feature heavily, and the always good Jeffrey Wright joins the cast as a seemingly civilized intellectual who reveals himself to have a very dark side, and Michael Shannon's former FBI agent turned fugitive goes in some promising directions. Just a preamble for the next and last season, but don't miss it.

Atlantic City at the dawn of Prohibition is a place where the rules don't apply. And the man who runs things -- legally and otherwise -- is the town's treasurer, Enoch "Nucky" Thompson, who is equal parts politician and gangster. Side by side with his brother Elias, Atlantic City's sheriff, and a crew of ward bosses and local tough guys, Nucky gains a reputation as the man to see for illegal alcohol. He does business with all the top gangsters -- Al Capone, Lucky Luciano, "Big Jim" Colosimo -- and he does it well ... until a former protégé takes matters into his own hands, setting the Feds on Nucky's tail.

Season four of Boardwalk Empire. This was my favorite season so far of Boardwalk. Everything that happens this season is bringing everything together for the final season which is about to air. Nucky and Eli are headed down a path that doesn't look like it will be good for anyone. With the introduction of some major new characters as well, season four gets better each episode leading to a ending where you have no idea whats going to happen! Leaving you hanging for the final season to see whats in store for all our favorite characters from New York to Jersey to Chicago and now Tampa! Check out if you have already checked out seasons 1-3. Boardwalk Empire is my favorite show and I have been an active fan since its release. This new season is probably the darkest of them all. It welcomes in significant roles for minor characters and gives a large story arc to some of them as well. We say goodbye to some long time characters but welcome some new ones that are just as enjoyable. This season does nothing but excites me even further for the conclusion, season 5.

I got my first taste of Boardwalk Empire on Black Friday when I got Boardwalk Empire season one. That started the binge that didn't stop until I watched every episode of every season. Season four kicks up the action and story line to edge of your seat excitement. Just when you thought you'd seen it all, here comes season four. You can't miss with Boardwalk Empire.

Great season really the beginning of the end for Nucky, like the whole series this is nice to own and a great watch. Picked this up on sale for $15, Best Buy always has the best prices and if they don't I always price match! Love having a digital copy with every blu-ray I buy, and HBO doesn't disappoint.

HBO has done it again...Boardwalk Empire is a riveting series set in Atlantic City during the 1920's. I am usually not a big fan of period tv but this series has me hooked. Do yourself a favor and watch it...you will not be disappointed.

I have been a huge fan of this series since the beginning. To hear that Season 5, the one after this one, is going to be the last makes me kinda bummed out. The story and characters make this a worthwhile series. I love this era of history and the writers truly bring the Prohibition Age to life.

nucky Thompson is at it again. Just when we thought he was down for the count he surprises is all with both how sinister and how kind he can be. The story lines are great although I wish he and Margaret could work things out. I love the addition of Patricia Arquette as Ruby she a real dame.

This is HBO at its finest. The level of detail that goes into this show is staggering, and the characters continue to be compelling season after season. I've seen the final season after this, and it doesn't disappoint either. If you've been enjoying the series so far, pick this up.

Boardwalk Empire is a show that gets better as it progresses. Season four was very entertaining and blended action, drama, and period gangster material wonderfully. The packaging for the set is well done and is a great addition to anyone's blu-ray collection.

As a huge fan of Boardwalk Empire I always purchase the seasons on street date. In this season things begin to change greatly, that seems ironic as the tone from season to season has shifted greatly in it's emphasis. This is the role that Buscemi was born to play.

I have only watched season 1 of Boardwalk Empire so far & picked up season 4 on sale recently for the unbelievable price of $14.99 @ Best Buy & now own the first 4 seasons on blu ray. Highly recommended show for any one who loves outstanding drama.

Okay, so after season 3 lulled me into a stupor, i decided I wouldn't buy anymore seasons. But i had a gift certificate and it was on sale and i'm glad i did. season 4 comes back strong. loved the new characters. overall great story points.

The Fourth Season of Boardwalk Empire is just as strong as the amazing ones that have come before. If you've never seen this show, do yourself a favor and start! If you HAVE seen the previous seasons, there's no reason not to watch this ASAP.

I love this show. The back stories and evolution of some of the most notorious gangsters in history continue to paly out with the main focus on our leading criminal, Nucky Thompson. The current season is slated to be the last. Great series!

Exciting season with more character development and introduction of new characters. Is a good setup for the upcoming final season - makes one wonder what will happen to the main characters. The acting, as usual, is excellent.

Season 4 continues with a great story line, involving all the favorite characters. Interesting developments move things along nicely. Can't wait to get to the season's end. Bad news is that after Season 5, it is over.

The progression of the characters is season 4 is a little slow. It just seemed like, where they were at the end of season 3 and where they are now at the end of season 4, is the same place. Not enough happened in season 4 as far as conflict. I also would've thought Al Capone's progression would've started to take place a little faster. Overall I still enjoy the show and will look forward to what season 5 has in store.
