Very good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not absolutely crazy about the shape... It does what it is supposed to do. The only reservations I have are about the synching of the remote with my A/V receiver and the fact that not all the shows that you recorded on the old TIVO can be transferred to the new one. Some of them cannot be due to licencing limitations...

Great DVR but TERRIBLE customer service
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Tivo App stopped working due to Tivo stopping being able to sign-in on Amazon Firesticks. The ability to use the Tivo recordings on other TVs was the *primary purpose* I bought the Tivo. Without that capability I no longer have a use for the Tivo box and can no longer return it due to being misled by technical support about the Tivo App. I purchased a Tivo Bolt and three Tivo Minis to set up a whole house DVR system. The Tivo Minis did not have a wireless connection capability and the locations I needed to use them did not have the capability to hook up via CAT5/CAT6 cables. I tried for the *entire* weekend to set the devices up via the coaxial cable network. I worked with Tivo technical service for several hours on both days but every time the Tivo Mini connected to the Tivo Bolt it would disconnect my access to the internet. After hours of trying different configurations Tivo technical representatives stated that my internet is not compatible. I returned the Tivo Bolt and all three Tivo Minis to BestBuy. A BestBuy representative told me to try the Tivo App as I had a couple of Amazon Firesticks. I did that and they worked great and were easy to set up and use. Because of that I kept the Tivo Bolt, paid for an annual Tivo subscription and bought two additional Amazon Firesticks to use on other TVs I had initially not considered hooking up to a whole house DVR system. Then just a few weeks later in November the Tivo app stopped allowing me to sign in due to *Network Technical Error*. I called Tivo customer support case number 07439621 and was told they would call back. I was called and a message was left stating that the issue had been resolved and that I needed to uninstall and then reinstall the Tivo App. I did that on *each* device and firestick but the Tivo app still would not allow me to sign in. On December 27th I called and after SIX transfers between Customer Service and technical support I was finally told that Tivo *stopped* the Tivo App service for Amazon Firesticks in *November*. In November I could have returned the Tivo Bolt back to BestBuy for a full refund but I was led to believe that the Tivo App that gave me the whole house DVR capability was being fixed. Taking away the capability to use it on the Amazon Firestick took away the *main capability* that I made the purchase of the Tivo to start with. Because it initially worked (and worked great) I had turned in my whole house DVR Voyager box to my cable company and completely redid my cable setup. I was a legacy member for the Voyager service so I can’t get that back as it is no longer offered by my cable company.

Great DVR
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The bolt is a great replacement for Verizon equipment. I can use my extra 1tb hard drive to double storage space. Verizon's latest model disabled the eSata port.

Change your TV watching experience for the better
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Change your TV watching experience for the better! I love this thing, and I can't imagine going back to a regular cable box ever! While you have to pay an additional amount for the TiVo service, it is less than what you pay to rent a cable box from your cable company. Once you add the interface card from your cable company, it's the same price. Better yet, if you get more than a year TiVo service, the price comes down so that it's less than a cable box. Once you get the hang of it, the features and buttons become quite intuitive. The quality is excellent and it allows you to go back to the beginning of shows, if you're start in the middle even while watching live TV. Highly recommended.

Great Buy First time or Exist Subscriber
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had reservations about upgrading existing seven-year-old Tivo HD. I am a Time Warner cable subscriber and had lots of issues when setting up my first TiVo HD. It was basically getting a cable card and tuner box which was the hassle. I bought a Tivo Bolt on 8-13-2016 and using TiVos online instructions and Time Warner cable's instructions did the installation myself and had it up running that day. The only mistake I made was I had forgotten to call TWC to pair the cable card and the Bolt. Most Of the channels came thru certain ones did not without pairing it up. Over all great device easy to use and to be fair the TWC Reps were very professional and courteous when i called.

A better cable box
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are considering a TiVo, you probably already know why they are so great. The $15/month fee is a big turn off to most, but it's absolutely worth every penny in my opinion. And to be fair, the "rental" of a cable card is usually significantly cheaper than the cable company's DVR, so if often times ends up in a wash since you aren't taking their DVR anyways. It boggles my mind that cable companies can continue to get by with the absolutely horrible user interfaces that are found in their DVRs. The TiVo interface is fresh and modern and is a breath of fresh air when considering the cable company's alternatives.

Awesome TIVO
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This TIVO is the best...you can skip ads on recorded shows by pressing 'd' and it is easy to set up and use. I LOVE TIVO. It is better than any DVR provided by cable companies. It offers so much easier access to programs. This TIVO records 4 shows at a time.

Love TiVo
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had a TiVo box several years ago when we first had DirecTV and always loved it. As DirecTV and Cox went to their own DVRs we switched too. TiVo is FAR SUPERIOR. The guide is much easier to use and the search is outstanding!! The TiVo system pulls together all of your cable stations as well as Netflix and other streaming services to give you a complete view of options. The setup was easy. I did have to work with the cable company to get the cable card and activate that card. That adds a little to the preparation; but the steps are well outlined in the TiVo documentation.

TiVo is back
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was a TiVo customer for 10 years and gave up on their slow hardware and dying technology. Due to a recent move decided to give them a shot and take a look at the new hardware. Gotta say they've once again hit it out of the park.

Skip mode rocks!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Best $200 I've spent in a long time - maybe ever. I would never go back to the old way. Beware... not every show has the skip mode.. but I'd guess 80% of what I watch does. I would suggest they concentrate on football next.

Still a great product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My first Tivo in many years. The Bolt is is a wonderful product with great features. I especially like the ability to assemble a unified watch list across services like Netflix, Hulu, recordings etc.

Almost Perfect
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love the Tivo bolt. I replaced my cable box with it and have zero regrets. Everything just works better than any cable box I have ever used (Cox, Xfinity, Verizon, Time Warner). There are too many great features and advantages to list here. Unfortunately, I mentioned almost perfect because there is a fan that makes an annoying noise. This is really a problem if you want to use it in a bedroom, especially because there is no on and off switch and Tivo support told me that the box has to stay on 24/7. However in our living room you do not notice anything. An other disappointment is the Amazon app which seems to be an older version or made for Tivo. It is not as intuitive as the current Amazon app for smart TV's. YouTube seems to be the same, so I am hoping for an upgrade to Amazon soon. (not tried any other apps).

Great Item
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This has been a great unit and I have been using it for 6 months. The cost of the Tivo service is minimal and worth not paying the crazy costs of Paid TV. Picture quality is great and having multiple tuners is handy. I love the Skip button which skips the commercials and the OnePass recording feature. Also having youtube, amazon prime and netflix access directly from the box is great we don't have to switch devices.

Super Happy TiVo Customer
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I decided it was time to upgrade from our TiVo Premier as we wanted the ability to extend the service to our bedroom. I am very happy with the TiVo Bolt. The Skip feature is AWESOME! Connecting this to a TiVo Mini in our bedroom gave us all our recorded shows in there as well. Plus, a decrease of $5/month in the service fee is a plus. This combined with our FREE HDTV via our antenna is something you just can't beat!

Cord cutting made easy!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased this several months ago, when Microsoft did away with Windows Media Center. We were looking for easy recording with little added cost. We love this box! Super simple to set up, we can skip commercials and even download and watch recordings while out of town on a tablet, phone or computer! Best investment ever! We are getting a mini to extend the service to another tv in our home.

Just an OK product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I must say I'm not overly excited with the TiVo box. Menu system is over the top complex. It keeps recording certain shows that I never asked it to record. Easy to delete, but why??!! Sometimes recording quality of shows that I did want to record are not very good! Recording quality of my DVR from the cable company were considerably better! I saved a bit of money versus DVR from cable company but not sure it's worth it. I would not buy this again.

Always loved TiVo
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We are cutting the cable the old fashioned way, but gotta have a dvr . And I had a tivo when they were new on the market, so we did it again, and it still does not disappoint. The new feature to skip entire commercial breaks has worked every time. By design, it doesn't happen if the show is still being recorded, but otherwise it's been perfect.
