The Bolt is so much faster than my old Premier, tons of recording space, and I can even watch hockey without interrupting the two other programs that always seem to be recording at the same time.

...is finally back in my home entertainment center. After having DirecTV just shy of 20 years (19 years and 9 months) so glad I got rid of DirecTV especially since AT&T bought the company. If you do your homework when DirecTV used to use TiVo set-top boxes and then stopped using them I've dislike the interface ever since. But now with my new TiVo Bolt I couldn't be happier, definitely look into it if you want to be a cord cutter.

I have been using Tivos for more years than I remember. The Bolt (and Roamio Pro) are the best of the Tivo line. They are fast with plenty of storage and a very good user interface.

We had TiVo several years ago with DirecTV. Now we have cable and their DVR system was awful. The search was useless and the recommendations never matched our viewing patterns. The TiVo system was easy to install and setup including getting the required cable card from the cable company. We will pay for the TiVo investment in eight months from the money we will save "renting" the cable boxes and DVR service.

This version of Tivo has several great items, low power consumption when idle, better storage capacity and 4 tuners to catch 4 times as many reality and game shows. And with the CableCard, you save money from not having to pay the CABLE Conglomerate those silly exorbitant Cable Box and DVR fees. This version supports various streaming services like Hulu and YouTube, but I recommend accessing that feature using the Tivo tablet app, data entry is a bit tedious with the peanut.

Bolt is an a great way to save on Cable equipment fees. I have it paired with four TiVo minis running on a MoCA network. Watching cable on of my TVs is awesome. Amazon Prime is also pretty cool.

We've owned a lot of Tivo units over the years and this one is just the greatest in the line so far. Handles 4k content and the new skip feature is the best!

By installing a cable card this enabled me to return the DVR box to the cable company. The next step was to eliminate my other boxes. I bought one TiVo Mini to replace the receiver in the bedroom. Next I replaced the kitchen receiver. The good news is all my monthly equipment cost are now down to $10 per month. The bad news is the return on investment is going to take several years to pay for itself. I have $600 tied up in TiVo and I am hoping they don't decide to abandon TiVo before it has paid for itself. If I ever cut the cord this TiVo will let me record the OTA TV.

The TiVo Bolt is indeed faster than any of the other TiVos I have ever owned and it made the picture on my Sony 4K UHD television even better.

Whit the unit works well, I wanted one that work with an Over The Air antenna. This was the largest capacity one that would work with OTA antenna. I saw that it had a connection that would allow for an external eSATA drive. It wasn’t until I bought the unit and saw that the list of compatible eSATA drives are all discontinued. You CAN buy them for 2-3 times (or more) what you can get a new one for. But why would you buy a discontinued 5 year old drive? Very disappointed in the capacity options for this.

This is my 4th TiVo and it is much faster and better than previous versions. The RF remote is great without line of sight IR. Response times to perform operations, boot up, find shows, switch to Netflix, etc. is much faster than the older TiVo Premier XL. More channels to record at the same time is also great. I also like the channel skip, but this is only for shows fully recorded and saved and not for show still being recorded. I'd recommend the WD Extended drive for more show storage.

I know these two boxes are quite different in many regards, but it's the TiVo experience I have. LIKES: The Bolt can be for cable or OTA. The old OTA couldn't be converted. Looks modern. Plenty of space with the 1 TB for our entire family of 6. DISLIKES: The physical design makes it odd if you have other things you'd like to stack. Seems slower to respond when rewinding/fast forwarding - the video isn't smooth and instead pauses and rewinds, pauses and rewinds, etc.

This device was easy to setup and is just what I needed to get streaming video that also matches my preferences

Tivo would only give me a refurbished replacement because I bought the unit at Best Buy. If I bought it from them they said they would have replaced it with a new one. It has great features but the box heats up to extreme levels which means it can't be in a cabinet or stacked with other components. Mine completely died losing everything I had recorded. I had to call their Ukraine(?) call center and fight for a replacement. They said it was new but when it arrived it clearly was not - I just now got the bad news that were I purchased it originally has heavy consequences for getting a replacement. As I wait for a second shipment from tivo (they didn't send me a power cord) I have decided that I will never ever get a tivo again. What a shame.

Bolt is easier to use than the Xfinity X1 DVR. The Bolt does everything X1 does but much better and it is more flexible and has more features The Bolt is more responsive, intuitive and seamless. We have the X1 DVR in the living room and the Bolt in the kitchen. Everyone here prefers the Bolt system.

The Tivo Bolt is a great DVR product. Easy to set up with a cable card and the menu system is fantastic.

I purchased this 1TB Tivo Bolt to replace my Tivo Premiere. What a huge improvement in speed and performance. The commercial skip feature is fantastic. Recording from 4 channels makes catching my favorite shows easy. The mobile app also makes it easy to set my recording options when out with friends discussing new shows I want to watch.

I bought this last August on recommendation of a family member. I absolutely love it. I use it in place of my cable box. The only reason I took 1 star off is that I haven't been able to "marry" the on-off with my TV remote, but I will get one of my kids to do it. I am truly enjoying being able to so easily access You Tube and my VUDU movies so easily without changing changing devices. Love it!

Tivo blips out or freezes. Switch back to tv or smart hub and try to use it only for recorded shows

TiVo Bolt 1GB is a great product and a great upgrade from the TiVo Series 3 HD. Everything works better and I love the ability to setup the MoCA, cuts down on the setup and wiring. Even the Remote Control is a huge upgrade. Nice job TiVo! My only one wish is that I could have purchased it in Black. I know they brought that back for the Bolt, but that is way to $$$$. Enjoy.
