RCN tech not able to pair with wifi, had to bridge with MoCa... Lots of confusion using TiVo service vs RCN.. Already was paying for Netflix, working on reducing pricing?? Have to go online to get operating instructions for tivo, otherwise, Download 98 page PDF file, or call tivo support for any questions.

I have TiVo service with my provider and I wanted to add this and you still have to pay TiVo service.

All features work great with my cable service with HD cable card installed, except 4K UHD which is just not offered. That skip feature is great on shows that offer it! The only thing keeping me from giving a 5 star rating is that I have found that in an empty quiet room when TV is off and TiVo is at rest, it is rather noisy compared to my TiVo series 2 and Premier units which I also have in use. I assume it is because of its much smaller size which must make it difficult to engineer sound deadening into it. Not a deal breaker but just something that I noticed and maybe could be addressed in future versions!

I loved everything about the Bolt, it's small, streams to apps, picks up over the air free HD, works with cable, skipping through commercials, everything is great about this device. the problem is that is you want to watch tv in more than one room you have to buy an additional Tivo Mini that doesn't come with wifi. so if you only have 1 TV in your home this is the device for you. 5 stars. once you have multiple TV's this dropd because of the lack of wifi with the TiVo mini

I have an older Tivo with a Tivo Expander (which give you additional storage space). Before purchasing the bolt, i checked TIVOs websight to make sure my Expander would work. Bought the tivo, set it up, and the Expander didn't work. I searched for solutions and found that when TIVO created the new bolt, they did not leave enough space in the bolt casing to the esata port to fit. According to those who posted, they contacted TIVO and were sent a new esata cable with a narrower housing. I called TIVO on 4/17/2017. I enever received the new esata cable. I called again to follow up. i was passed between 5 agants. They no longer replace the cables. They also no longer sell the tivo extenders. The best they would do was give me a $15 credit on my monthly service fee. By the way, I purchased the lifetime plan - so I don't pay a monthly fee. I was extremely upset and i demanded to speak to someone else. I had to re-explain. but this rep told me it was Best Buys fault. that even thought TIVO website said it was compatible, the Best Buy employee should have told me the cable was no longer made. Way to pass the buck TIVO. by the way, of you find yourself in the same predicament, you can trim about 2-3mm of the plastic away on the cable, and it will then fit into the new Bolt. I see this as a design flaw on Tivos part.

Bought the 1TB Tivo and 2 Minis. I've heard great things about the Tivo for years. That it is a Slick product. But the system just didn't work well at all. I am not a novice to tech products. I spent about 8 hours on it trying everything I could to make it work the way it should have. Tech support eventually got the main unit to display properly. After about 3 hours, I did get the Mini's to work, but they would freeze and drop the feed. My house is only 2 years old and I have the biggest and fastest of everything in the house, so it wasn't on my end. A big problem was the tech person pronounced Cable and Tivo the same. Everyone is calling from a loud call center. I canceled on the 31st day and they wouldn't help with giving me my 1 year subscription. I will never recommend Tivo to anyone.

Bought this only to find out that the eSATA connection for drive expansion is only compatible with discontinued WD DVR drives. Buy a discontinued drive for twice the original price or no expansion. With the cost of hard drives, this is an embarrassment for TiVo.

I bought mine back in 6/2016 and it has failed in 4/2017. I paid $324.74 as a deposit and it was credited back for a refurbished Bolt. The exchange fee was $53.04 which includes shipping. Now, the refurbished unit has failed on 8/2017. I'm in the process of working with Tivo to see if I can get another unit. But, if I have to pay every 4 months for a TiVo replacement I would not recommend this product. To Be Continued

TiVo Bolt may work with a cable card but not Over The Air. You pay TiVo to provide programming but they don't support all the stations you receive OTA. We receive the UHF feed of ABC network in San Francisco (frequency 35) but TiVo won't provide programming. I've asked repeatedly over past month for TiVo to add the UHF feed but to no avail. The UHF feed (frequency 35) is identical to the VHF feed (frequency 7 - which we don't receive OTA because we live on other side of mountain) so it should be easy. Because the programming doesn't show up on our TiVo Bolt we can't record any ABC programs. I'm very disappointed.
