Good movie. Not a good as the first one. Looked like it was made in a hurry to ride the wave of the first one.

First let me admit that I am known to be overly critical of film, as I feel that the art of making movies has become more about the special effects and less about acting, script, and directing. Second let me say that I simply love the first installment of Boondock Saints. So I was very excited to see a sequel, but after a purchase and a viewing, I have to say that this is so bad to me, that it made me almost embarrassed to like the first film soooo much. The quarky lines that were meant as humor, and the bad acting by all involved in the film, ( except for Bill Connolly, Double " D" Rocco, and Peter Fonda ), and the weak story line all add up to an extreme waist of your valuable time and hard earned cash. Please do yourself a favor and rent or stream this one, if you feel like you just got to watch it!!!

Why did I buy this? Because, I bought the first one at the same time never seeing both but seeing high average ratings for the original movie and thought I should get the squeal. Still don't know why I opened this movie and watched it.

Unwatchable waste of $4.99 and two hours I'll never get back. Well, actually I spent the last hour browsing the Web. Watch the first one twice and call it a day.

Enjoyable movie if you liked the first one...

Overall this was an enjoyable movie if you were a fan on the first Boondock Saints movie. While the plot is iffy, there is quite a bit more action shoe-horned into this one....although that ins't necessarily a good thing. The characters, especially on the "bad guy" side of things were far too cartoonish in this edition, which kept me from getting fully engrossed in the story line as I had in the first one. It was obvious one of the goals was to make this movie a bit more light-hearted than the last...while it had more jokes, the delivery of them just didn't mesh well with everything else, so the comedy feels rather forced. Overall I'm still glad a bought the movie, if nothing other than a show of support for the amazing first movie. If you have not seen the first movie you MUST start there...otherwise this one will be a complete waste of your time.

I fell in love with the original Boondock Saints, and have watched it multiple times since. It's just a blast. I got the first film on Bluray for X-mas which was great in anticipation of the sequel. Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day not only lived up to my expectations, but exceeded them. Terrific, cast, excellent production value (given the relatively thrifty budget), and filled with more quotable lines. The action is exhilarating and beautifully photographed and the screenplay is hilariously funny, but at the same time carries a suprising amount of dramatic heft. My girlfriend and I watched this twice in one day. It's that good. The Bluray disc sports a nice 1080p HD transfer that is superbly detailed. Textures, colors, contrast are all on point. A veneer of film grain renders even more detail, giving it it's film-like look. Blacks are inky and free from crush. No DNR or edge enhancement are evident. The soundtrack is fabulous with an excellent DTS HD MA 5.1 lossless recording. Powerful LFE and surprisingly good ambient and superb directional effects (you can almost feel the bullets whiz by your head) make this a must have for any BD fan. It you love the first and second films, invest in a BD player. The masters of both films are awesome.

Twins Kicks some rear second time around

The plot is involving, and engrossing. The twins pick up a new sidekick, which by the way I like a lot better than Rocco!!!! And it doesn't hurt that Connor and Murphy aren't bad to look at either. It is a little slow in the beginning, but when the action starts, it doesn't seem to want to stop!!!! And I mean to tell ya, they leave it wide open tor another sequel, which leaves this Boondock Saint obsessed fan, more than extremely happy!!!! So I can't wait to see Connor and Murphy in action again, minus Daddy, which of course is heart-breaking!!!! But this sequel lives up to the original, for once!!!! So let's hope they bring them back for a third time!!!

Matches the original in every way

This movie takes every thing you loved about the original, pays homage to it, then expands upon it. Rocco has a speech that trumps every scene of his from the original, and even beats the court room speech. It makes u happy to be a man. It has a crazy twist in the last 10 minutes or so and the ending is completely open, making a third installment definite. Dosn't really pick up until about half way through, and Clifton Collins Jr. (awesome actor in most other decent roll's, check out Mindhunters) brings back his over the top vibe he had in The Rules of Attraction which can get a little grating. Still, a perfect sequel for any boondockian..

Happy to see familiar faces, "sophomore" album

I am a die-hard fan of the original Boondock Saints and found myself excited and let down all at the same time while taking in All Saints Day. The plot is good, with a lot of background on the boys' dad, yet the way the movie moves just didn't grab me like I expected it to. It seemed like it tried too hard to match the original in terms of the balance between action, plot, and comedy and at times it really felt like they just reached too high. It was pleasant to see they left it open for more follow-ups though. I'm anxious to see what the future brings for the Saints. I'll keep this in my collection in hopes that this is just the "sophomore album" curse, and that #3 (cross your fingers!) is more what I expected
