Customers are saying

Customers recognize Borderlands 3's engaging gameplay and fun cooperative mode as major strengths, frequently praising the game's humor and the sheer volume of loot and content available. However, some players have reported issues with lag, bugs, and occasional frame rate problems, particularly in split-screen mode. While many appreciate the game's story and diverse weaponry, optimization concerns have also been raised.

At the hard edge of the galaxy lies a group of planets ruthlessly exploited by militarized corporations. Brimming with loot and violence, this is your home – the Borderlands. Answering the call of the Siren champion Lilith, four Vault Hunters charge head-first into a spray of bullets, blood, and bandits to recover a map to ancient Vaults and prevent a universe-destroying power from falling into the wrong hands. The rest is history. Fearless renegade mercenaries on the wildest interplanetary treasure hunt of all time. FL4K is a wandering robotic tracker whose cold steel heart warms only for their pet beasts. Amara beats bad guys into pancakes with her psychic fists. Moze’s best friend is a 10-ton walking killing machine. And Zane, the semi-retired corporate hitman... well, he’s Zane. Hunting Alone? No problem! Shoot and loot your way through the Borderlands, discovering the region’s untold stories and piling high your increasingly deadly cache of goodies and weapons.

Love the Borderland series of games. Been playing them since the original on PS3. Borderlands 3 is fun with its many different locals and the DLC just add even more to the game. The story is good but I like the story in Borderlands 2 more. The controls and combat/gunplay are great and it's always fun to play.

The game is very fun to play even if the twins don't quite live up to the standard that Handsome Jack set. To be fair that was almost impossible standard to meet anyway. I've had issues with frame rate and lag on the main menu, but 2K is good with releasing consistent patches for bugs and other issues. The 3 DLC's released so far have been more enjoyable than the main story to me. Can't wait for the 4th and for whatever else they come out with after that.

Borderlands 3 is definitely more Borderlands, but that's far from a bad thing. The game has introduced some much appreciated quality of life improvements, but at its core, is the same Borderlands we fell in love with years ago. Great gun play, fantastic humor, and just tons of fun. You just can not go wrong with Borderlands!

The gameplay is a LOT better than the other BL games. Graphics look good as well, if you like cell shading. The story isn't as good as the second game, and the villains aren't as good as Handsome Jack. The biggest problem I have with the game is the amount of bugs it currently has. In my opinion, this game needed 6 more months of QA, at least. Hopefully in 6 months or so, the game will be a lot more stable. Unfortunately, by that time, I'll have moved on already.

Borderlands has always had the style factor going for it, and that's evident here as well. The characters, guns, and environments look amazing, albeit at an uneven framerate (PS4 Pro). The series has also always excelled in gunplay and that is no different here especially with all of the new movement options like vaulting and sliding. The game no longer feels last-gen. However, there are some gripes about the game that do drop the fun factor down to zero. First is the story. You've probably heard it before that it's childish and is written corporately, but sadly it's true. There are times where I just wanted to move past the cringe inducing dialogue and get on with the good stuff. Second is the driving. These games should be the pinnacle of exploration in open world shooters. The loot drops and high difficulty enemies should be prime real estate (pun intended) for interesting movement and exploration around the environments. But just like in previous installments, the driving is just garbage. Poor steering and feel makes it almost PS2 era and the lack of content while driving and empty open areas makes it seem almost like loading screens to get to the next bandit hideout. However, with these aside, the game can be incredibly fun. The new hunters and their abilities allow for some fairly deep and unique customization. This all said, the package at a lower price is excellent. With DLC included (all fairly mediocre so far, but more new Borderlands to play) this is an easy purchase, just don't have your hopes set too high after the long wait between this and the Pre-sequel

This game is my absolute favorite right now. The characters are interesting and the story line has some really funny moments. The weapon and special system keeps the gameplay fresh and the new movement mechanics make the game very enjoyable. At 25 hours of play so far the game is still fresh and enjoyable.

Love this game. They put a lot of work into it. Still has the borderlands feeling like the others. It’s got a cleaner look and smoother controls and a ton more guns and equipment. The characters have more abilities than the previous games. One of the best games I have played since the pre-sequel

The game is great its improved from the last installment alot however there is a great many technical difficulties that come with this installment. Furthermore it seems like the writing team wasnt paid enough because the plot is cheap and convenient when it could have been awesome. For example it has the problem where let's say borderlands 2 did not when it comes to introducing characters properly and explaining what is going on. I would easily say you can play borderlands 2 without playing the first but with this one to even somewhat understand what's happening in this fast paced poorly written story you'd have to play them all including Tales from the borderlands. Dont misunderstand I have a love hate relationship with this game. Its what I wanted and more but the story is not what it needed to be in the introduction. It does get better the farther in you get. I also mentioned technical difficulties which are not limited to gun glitches that wont allow me to reload. So far it seems I only have the problem with shotguns. If they update it some and fix things with frames, lag, load times and the gun glitches as well as some good story dlc then this game will be amazing.

Steelbook is beautiful. Game is the most fun out of the franchise. Really cool guns & the multiple vaults is the icing on the cake. IMO this is a must buy and you don't have to play the other 3 to play but playing 2 would put you in the know with the characters.

You guessed it, this is the third full game for the Borderlands series. It is just as great as the others. There are a few small bugs for the PS4 but I am sure a patch is in the works. It doesn't take away from anything though. Definitely pick this one up!

If you loved borderlands 2 this is a must have. Many quality of life improvements and more variety in the class skill trees and so much loot! The story and villains aren't as compelling as part 2's but gameplay-wise it's a big improvement.

If you like Borderlands, you’ll appreciate this one. It has the same characteristic humor with more weapon variety and better graphics. It probably won’t convince you if you didn’t like its predecessors, but it’s mindlessly fun.

I'm a BL1 and BL2 fan, and BL3 is an improvement in every area. Many reviews seem to conclude "if you liked previous Borderlands then you'll be happy as it is more of the same. If not there's not enough here to change your mind." I disagree. Play BL2 then fire this up (without waiting 7 years) and it isn't more of the same, it is 5x better in every aspect. If you've never played a Borderlands game before and you like first-person shooters then stop reading and get it because this gets my vote for game of the year. If you really want to understand what is going on with the story then get BL2 or the Handsome Collection (ignore the Pre-sequel, it sucks), but play it first, otherwise you'll be spoiled by the graphics and quality of life improvements in BL3.

Took a little too long to come out, and the framerate takes a beating every now and again but its still an enjoyable game. Not sure if its quite as good as the last one though. The super deluxe version is a great value though, especially if you still have gamers club.

This is a fantastic entry in the series, with all the fast-paced shoot-em-up action you could ask for! If you have never played a Borderlands game before, don't worry. You don't need to know all of the lore and backstory to jump into this one and start battling and collecting the endless amount of loot. Great fun to play alone, but even better when you team up with a friend, or even a new online buddy. Multiplayer is cooperative based, and you can choose if your found prizes should be divvied up fairly, or if you believe in Finders Keepers!
