Customers express satisfaction with the 800 Series 24" Bar Handle Dishwasher's quiet operation, excellent cleaning performance, and the added convenience of a third rack. Many appreciate its large capacity and ease of use. However, some users found the controls challenging to master and reported occasional reliability issues. A few also noted longer cycle times than expected.

    Dead On Arrival

There were enough reviews talking about the dead control panel upon arrival and I should have taken heed. Mine arrived DOA. It actually did come on and tell me that I needed to add Rinse Aid (or Salt). I added the Rinse Aid. The machine made some noise, apparently pumping rinse aid somewhere then the lighted rinse aid message went out. Nothing else ever happened. Not able to reset. Not able to turn on. Not able to do anything. The Touch Control Panel just does not work. I had another issue, too. This unit arrived with a LOT of moisture inside and it STUNK horridly. I mean it stunk of mold inside so bad that I felt like vomiting from the stench. I assume that Bosch did a test run at their factory and that the units retain some water during shipping but that mold smell was absolutely beyond acceptable. (I have attached a photo of the inside as it was unwrapped to show all the moisture - lucky for all readers I cannot capture and share the smell. Notice all the moisture even on the packaging.) I had intended to run a sanitary cleaning cycle before using the dishwasher with actual dishes to see if the smell would go away but since it cannot even be operated, back to Best Buy it will go! What an disappointment!

    We have a winner!

We recently installed the new Bosch 800 series for 2017 (the new one with the myway rack). Replaced a brand new kitchenaide because it leaked after 8 cycles and the door wouldn't close all the way. The Bosch is so far a home run! Dishes are clean and after adjusting the rinse aide setting to medium, they are dry at the end of the cycle as are the tub walls. The first time we ran it the walls were still wet but admittedly we may have opened it before the drying time was over, we aren't sure. The next 3 cycles were fine and everything was dry and able to be put away that evening. We did not use the extra/intensive dry option either. Accessing the settings is a bit of a learning curve but once you have everything set there's really no need to change anything. We like the myway 3rd rack way better than the competitors bu also the previous Bosch 800 series. The new 3rd rack is deeper and can accept small bowls, Tupperware, lids for my protein skaters, etc. it's not just a place to throw silverware and odd utensils like the others out there. With the top rack lowered, we can fit larger glasses, bottles, and turvis cups,,etc and there is still clearance on the bottom for large plates. On the kitchenaide the jets would hit the plates if we lowered the top rack. The other nice thing is the silverware rack. The holes are are large and able to fit untensils with larger handles, like the ones out toddler uses. The kitchenaide was annoying because they were all different size holes so the butter knifes would never fit and it was like a puzzle trying to get it all in. Loading is so much quicker. Overall there are many configurations of tines, racks, etc that we can get a large dinner party mess in there or only have to run it 2 times a week for our small family of 4. Plenty of room! Be aware that the Bosch requires the use of a supplied junction box installed in an adjacent cabinet as they use a power cord from the unit to the junction box. It's a European thing - there is no direct hardware to the dishwasher. My only gripe is that there is still a tiny bit of water in the sump after cycles, but it's been like that with the last 3 dishwashers I've owned so I'm beginning to think it's supposed to be that way. I've read that the new units pump a little water back in to keep the seals from drying out. It's clean water so I know the unit drains everything out. Overall we are extremely pleased so far. Time will tell but even the installers said it was one of the best on the market without spending $2500. Excuse the dirty dishes in the pictures lol

Much better than the 8 year old model from another manufacturer it replaced. Newer technology, although requiring longer cycles, is worth it. Dishes get clean and the machine is very quiet. I also really like the new 3rd shelf option, as it significantly increases the wash capacity.

When my old and frequently used (at least once a day) Bosch diswasher finally met its demise, I first purchased the kitchenaid rated the best dishwasher by consumer reports. That was a huge mistake and luckily I was able to return it and go back to a Bosch. The Bosch is much quieter, and my dishes fit better, but most importantly it does a better job washing and drying. The quality of this Bosch is hands down superior to the other dishwashers I researched. For example when installing on an unlevel floor there is a side-to-side and front-to-back adjustment mechanism (I haven't seen front-to-back before). The inside is well configured and easy to use. I was interested in some of the features available on other brands (i.e. bottle washer on GE model, waterwall, stormwash by Samsung) but the functionality of the great 3rd rack of this model won out in my purchasing decision. And I haven't been disappointed. Although I am able to alleviate the middle rack bottleneck by utilizing the 3rd rack to run the dishwasher less frequently, will note highly dirty items don't always come out clean if placed on the 3rd rack (which in my opinion is reasonable). Overall the diswasher has done a fantastic job with its primary functions of washing and drying (including plastics). Also, my plates and bowls fit on the bottom much better than any of the other dishwashers I tried (brought my dishes to the store to test the configuration of the different brands).

Our previous two dishwashers were Jenn-Airs. I was extremely pleased with the first one. So, when it came time to replace it, we went with the same brand. While it was quiet, which is a major requirement for us, it just didn't clean the dishes very well. What is the sense in having a dishwasher if you have to completely wash them before or after you put them through the dishwasher! I was looking at Bosch to replace our last dishwasher because I had read good reviews about that brand. We visited a friend of ours up in NH and she had one and had nothing but good things to say about it. She's picky, so I trusted her judgement. Overall, I'm pleased with this product. It's quiet and does a great job of getting the dishes clean. My only complaint and the only reason I'm not giving it a rating of 5 is that the racks are not spaced well for the dishes we use on a daily basis. Our bowls are rather large and somewhat oddly shaped. I have a heck of a time loading 4 of those in there and still have room for dinner plates. And that top rack designed for utensils is useless as far as I'm concerned. I occasionally put things up there and then forget about them. They get washed 3-4 times before I remember that I put anything up there. I'm sure, if I took the time to read the manual, I could figure out how to remove that. Overall, I'm pleased with it. And, if I could figure out how to pack as much stuff into it as I could my previous dishwashers, I'd give it a rating of 5.

We bought a KitchenAid first mostly because we liked the fact that it had heater element inside for drying. Unfortunately, after 3 defective units, we decided to purchase the Bosch unit instead. Thank you BestBuy for great service and fast unit swap! Our biggest concern was the fact that it does not have a heater element. We didn't want dishes coming out all wet, but rest assured - the drying process works just fine. We always use the extra dry option though just in case. The unit does a great job with washing as well. I've tested it by placing dried up dirty dishes (no large pieces though as the unit doesn't have a garbage disposal). It works like a charm. The washer is whisper quiet. We have it going in the evening with the TV way down low so not to wake up the kids and it hasn't been a problem at all. One thing - I wish Bosch designed the controls a bit better. It is not possible to see how much time is left on a wash. THere is basically a single red light shining on the floor to let you know it's operating. To start the dishwasher, you have 3 seconds after pressing start to close the unit. Otherwise it won't start. Not sure how this helps the user... It is possible to add a dish while its operating - just open the unit. Have to be careful when starting it back up again. You can't just close the door back as the unit won't restart and you'll end up with dirty dishes the next day. You have to press and hold the start button for 2-3 seconds. Careful not to hold it for 5 seconds as this resets the cycle. Anyway, after precisely timing 2-3 seconds (VERY quiet beep can also be heard if one is very attentive), you have 3 seconds to close the door in order for the unit to start.

This replaced a 30 year old Maytag that was very noisy. Was told back then that they were made to be noisy so people would be convinced that something was happening, It would peak at 88 dB on a sound meter phone ap. It was hard to get a true reading on the new one because of other external noises but it appears to be around 41db even though it claims to be less. Could also be the accuracy of the meter. The new machines are quieter and worth paying the extra few dollars for a quiet model. We can now hear the TV when the dishes are being washed. The only loud noise comes from the drain when the washer is draining. The 3 racks are fantastic and offer a lot of versatility. The machine cycles are a little longer but the dishes appear to get a lot cleaner. It was easy to install and I would recommend buying all new hoses and connectors. Get a a water hose long enough so you can connect it and test for leaks before sliding into the cabinet. I used the electric cord from the old washer and connected it to the connector box provided and then plugged into the wall outlet. It would be nice if they provided two leveling surfaces for a level when installed in the cabinet. The method they show doesn’t make sense as the counter top has to be off. The interior walls were very damp and there was water in it. I don’t know if it was from testing or because it was delivered when it was snowing. It didn’t come in a full cardboard box that would have fully protected it from the elements. Hopefully it wasn’t a previous used return.

It is the quietest ever, the quietest one that I could find from any store here in Hawaii. Seriously, all you will hear is the water draining from your sink! It has the lowest decibels without taking out a mortgage. Yes, it is still a bit pricey, but, with 0% financing, it makes sense, especially in my house where it will get used often, even at 4am when my husband decides to run it! The red light that shines on the floor to tell everyone that it is ON is genius. HOWEVER, it takes a college degree and some luck to understand the manual to learn how to use that darn thing! The manual is not model specific, so some of those 'instructions' do not apply to this model! Why couldnt the buttons add on the letters used in the manual? Nothing is intuitive other than the On/Off and Start, which doubles for Reset. The other buttons double for A,B,C function keys. YIKES. I was so frustrated, endured cycles of nothing but soapy damp dishes for days and close to returning it. Did not know nor was told that RinseAid is REQUIRED, which is also an additional cost. It says you can program it to not use RinseAid, but then it increases the run time and DOES NOT rinse well. Translation: RinseAid is REQUIRED if you want clean and dry dishes. It also still smells weird, but the smell is either slowly disappearing or we are just getting used to it. It gets insanely hot; we already melted off the covering of a coffee travel container. Luckily, it was not one of our favorites. So, not a honeymoon, but once we took a few deep breaths, we got it going and happy with it. Perhaps Best Buy should send a bestbuy technician when it gets installed to train the new owners. Now THAT would be some amazing customer service. And throw in a sample of Rinse Aid please! No one has it unless they already have a dishwasher that requires one. So, then its an extra trip to the market to get a bottle for that first run. Sigh. Then, within a day of install, the bottom panel fell off. Sigh again. The guy who Best Buy sent to install it is so busy we are still waiting for his return. My husband said he would fix it and I said NO, we paid for installation, so we are getting the installation. Sigh again. So many bumps in the road to dishwasher nirvana. Still, it is amazingly quiet and cleans well, once we figured out how to use it!

Loving how clean and spotless my dishes are. The dishwasher is also extremely quiet, the red indicator light is helpful so you know when the cycles are finished. Very easy to use. I love the third tray. The only reason why I did not give it 5 stars is that I struggle with finding a good loading pattern for the types of dishes that we use. It's improving with every load though.

So far, this dishwasher is great! It is so quiet, you can't tell it is on. The dishes come out sparkling clean. My wife paid extra to get the extra rack on the top, and she is glad she did. This top rack has a lot of good uses! My only disappointment is that I didn't measure the adjacent cabinet drawers first, as I must open up the dishwasher to open the adjacent drawer, as otherwise the dishwasher handle will hit the adjacent drawer knob blocking it from opening more than 6 inches.

I've waited a month to write this review to gain more experience with the Bosch. I purchased this model after my 4 year old higher end Kitchen Aid malfunctioned, leaked (thankfully not much) and Out of warranty (by 3 weeks) Having a wooden floor I could not risk a larger flood and researching more on the options, the Bosch with its flood protection design was a clear winner. This 3 level diswasher has a huge capacity. Its extreamly and surprisingly useful top shelf is great for utensils. Perhaps not so much for bowels as shown in marketing material as the lay flat and water pools on top. You'll notice the capacity when running out of plates! Using the rinse option more frequently between full wash cycles is not an issue for me and I quite like the more energy efficient approach. It does have quicker cycles but I find the rinse and wait method best. One note is that running a rinse or cycle with half empty dishwasher does result in slightly higher noise levels....it has that many jets and power! The rinse cycle is only 9 minutes so not an issue. The drying comments are valid from other reviews, noting that this dishwasher relies on the heat from the wash and removing moisture vs. A heating element to dry. At first this was frustrating, but altering my loading so ensure plastic containers (which are inherently bad at allowing water to be trapped in crevices) it becomes much less of an issue. It has a higher temp cycle that combats this but I have no need. The shelves themselves have levers to adjust and lower the height to fit larger or smaller items distributed between them, as well as drop down fingers for plates or larger items depending on uses. There are also optional accessories allow shelves to be completly removed to allow giant pots (think turkey fryer!) To be placed and still wash correctly. I had BestBuy return to fix a installation issue, and they failed to turn up at the second appointment which was very poor on BestBuys behalf, wasted my day off work (had to take 2 vacation days BestBuy after the initial appointment!) and requested I call back once they came out (3rd appointment) to get compensation. This should be automatic BestBuy. The last thing I need is to spend yet more time on the phone dealing with a mistake claiming an offer of compensation. You lost the 5th Star for that. I've still yet to call so cannot comment on if that covers my value of vacation time. The issue was aesthetic, noticing that after the install the dishwasher had been installed flush with the counter edge, and not the base cupboards as shown in manufacturer's instructions. Although minor, it was incorrect and with the handle did protrude too much. Also, this dishwasher is slightly narrower than the KA is replaced. The installer allowed me to add a filler trim at this time to balance the gap to minimize. Peace of mind for wooden floors was the main reason for this purchase but the overall performance is outstanding.

This dishwasher ws an open box item and we couldn't be happier. The installation was easy for us just make sure you buy the installation kit or one at home depot as the water input differs from older models. You also need to have an outlet as this dishwasher comes with a standard 120v plug. The dishwasher works amazingly well. Every dish seems to come out very clean. We now just scrap the food off the dishes and put them in the dishwasher. We don't need to rinse the plates clean anymore. There are many settings but we typically just use auto wash. The third rack is tall enough for any utensil without tacking up rack height from the other racks. The tall tub is very useful for entertaining. The cycle times are longer than our previous dishwasher but that is a small price to pay for really clean dishes.

Bought this model for the quietness rating, and it certainly lives up to the rating. Can barely hear it run, the run light on the floor is about the only way I tell it's on. The controls take some getting used to, the unit can only be programmed when the door is open. The start button is a little finicky, you have to touch it and hear the beep or it does't start.

This Bosch 800 Series dishwasher replaced another Bosch dishwasher we had for 13 years. It is unbelievably quiet, what Bosch is known for. Love the third rack. The downside is that the rack to hold the stems of wine glasses does not snap into place, so it often will revert back to the up position when the wine glasses are in place, so the wine glasses topple to the side. I don't know if that is a design flaw or if we just got a bad rack. Also, the dishwasher on/off control will turn on randomly when opening the dishwasher to put dishes in. Not sure why that happens, but it is an annoyance.
