The headphones sound really good, but I don't think they sound any better than other name brand high quality headphones. An app is needed to adjust the bass/graphic equalizer, but there are two apps from Bose that come up and one doesn't work for these headphones. Pretty sure that's why the previous owner returned these headphones to Best Buy. Got it all sorted after a bit of fiddling and wound up turning the bass response WAY down. I like the noise cancelling/aware button, so I can hear or not hear my surroundings as I choose. Looking forward to flying with these. Not so much worry about a screaming baby or other noisemakers. Battery life is very good so far. I like how much more detail comes through on my favorite music. Got a good deal on these because they were a return. Full price would have been far to pricey for me.

Liked my first pair of QCs enough to buy a second pair in green. Excellent sound and comfort. Good battery life. Lightweight. The only problem is the Bose app. I found the EQ useless. ANC is world class.

If your priority is to wear headphones for longer (in office environments, flights) and you are not audiophile you will enjoy these. The physical buttons and missing touch options is good for winters and windy conditions so that you don't accidentally change something.
Sony XM series has better codec support and thus better audio quality but these are just much more comfortable.
I do wish Bose was not cheap to exclude flight adapter that it used to bundle in last decade but most newer planes work with 3.5 so maybe this is not that bad.
Sony does app better. Bose just does not have customization (to change the audio signature).
These are closer to 4.5/5

You can't ask for much more, except maybe comfort - and they're comfortable, too! This is our second pair, as I bought an earlier version years ago. My wife has now discovered the joy and sanctuary of Bose noise-cancellation while traveling, and can't imagine leaving the house without them. My older pair is still going strong, too. Just had to replace the ear pads.

The Bose QuietComfort Wireless Noise Cancelling Over-the-Ear Bluetooth Headphones have been an outstanding addition to my setup. The noise cancellation is top-tier. Whether I’m working in a busy café or a noisy home environment, it effectively blocks out distractions and helps me stay focused.
Comfort is another huge win. I can wear these for hours during work calls or long listening sessions without any discomfort. The sound quality is crisp and well-balanced, making everything from music to meetings sound clear and immersive.
Battery life easily gets me through multiple workdays, and the Bluetooth connection has been reliable with no dropouts. Call quality is also excellent. If you work remotely or need a reliable pair of headphones for noisy environments, these are absolutely worth it.

These re the 2nd pair of headphones I’ve bought previous ones lasted 7 years. I live the comfort in the over the ear and that I can hear just the music and no background noise.

I've had Sony WH-1000XM3s, XM4s, and Beats Studio Pros before these. The Sony XM3s were the standard for ANC headphones in my mind, my pair lasted through half a decade of heavy use, they blocked noise, and sounded good. XM4s changed the hinge design at the earcups and both of my pairs broke in about a year in the exact same way.
I went to Beats Studio Pros when I saw them on sale and saw they had a flatter frequency response on Rtings and they were crap. They sounded good, but the design is inherently flawed - the earcups do not pivot on a hinge, meaning that if you have a large head they will last six months, tops. They also pinch any hair longer than short. The ANC is also not competitive compared to Sony or Bose. Not worth it at 100 bucks, let alone 200 or more. I went through an AppleCare warrantied pair and the second broke in the exact same way.
Which brought me to these. I got them on sale for half off, and at that price, they're 100% worth it. The sound is bass heavy, and I had to tweak the EQ to get something reasonable, but I think both the Sonys and Beats sound better out of the box. That said, they're fine here, and if you're a rap or electronic music person who likes heavy bass you'll like these. The ANC is on point, blocks everything out, particularly if you have rain noise on in the background often like I do. Fit is perfect, they are wildly comfortable. The main issue I have is Bluetooth connectivity. They pair with two devices at once - I think for most people this would be okay, but I'm a power user and connect them to my phone, a work PC, a Mac, and a gaming PC. The device switching is often awkward and they have the slowest process to swap out devices to connect a new one, and they often do not elegantly swap between the two devices that are connected. There aren't dropped connection issues like with Beats, but with the Sonys you can just tell the memorized Bluetooth to connect and it's a lot faster and cleaner. I have a real mic (Shure SM7B into an interface) I use if I talk to people on Discord, Zoom, or Teams and have not tested these in a call setting. The mic is probably middling.
Tl;dr: If these last they are 100% worth it at 200 bucks. Sound is bass heavy but decent, fit and finish is on point, battery life is great, only issue is some mild Bluetooth connectivity quirkiness that I don't think will affect a normal user who would just use these on their phone and maybe a laptop or tablet. At sticker (360 as of writing) I might try to find a deal on the Quietcomfort Ultra 2s. The new Sony XMs are having headband breaking issues like my XM4s and apparently the new headbands are less comfortable, so I'm not particularly inclined to roll the dice.
