Rarely works, functioned for maybe a couple of weeks. Had the geek squad out who reset everything and said they just aren’t reliable. Only way to get it to work is turn everything totally off and reset it and do that repeatedly. Called Bose support too with no better answer.

Waste of money. Best buy installed it to our system so I know its not anything we did. It just never works. I can connect to it via bluetooth and get no audio, and when using the tv, we have to use to tv speakers. It does not work via e-arc hdmi connection. Should have spent the extra money on a sonos system and gotten a product that actually works

Amazing sound for TV, Movies, and Music!

Finally, someone has made a sound bar that not only sounds good for TV / Movies, but also for music as well! I have used probably over 20 sound bars in my lifetime and there was one thing I have always been very disappointed about….they sound absolutely horrible whenever you try to play music through them. Yes, I may be picky, some might use the term audiophile, but I just have standards when im listening to music. When I unboxed this sound bar and got it set up, I knew that it would probably sound amazing for TV and movies since I have had a couple other Bose sound bars in the past. It definitely did not disappoint. I used the HDMI connection for audio and pulled up a movie with Atmos sound. This sound bar filled up my room with sound from all directions and I was even quite impressed with the amount of bass this thing put out without having a dedicated subwoofer. If you want something that will rattle the walls and wake the neighbors, you might want to add one, but I think this will be just fine for most people. Then I just put on some old TV shows that I knew had no special kind of audio and they all sounded great as well. Perfectly balanced sound, easy to hear dialogue. You really cant ask for anything more! Then I decided to hook it up to my phone and play some High Res audio files through it. I was expecting to be completely disappointed, but I was actually pretty blown away at how good it sounded. I have had other Bose sound bars in the past and I have never liked the way music has sounded through them, but I think they finally got it right this time! The music sounded very crisp and clear and detailed. From symphonic music to heavy metal, it sounded superb. One caveat, if you push it too hard it will start to break up on you. But for low to mid volume ranges I think you will definitely be happy! Now lets get into the design of the sound bar. It looks beautiful, I will say that. Nice sleek glass top with the speaker grille wrapped around the front and sides. Fairly easy to clean, but the top does attract dust and fingerprints pretty easily. My biggest gripe about this sound bar is that there is no display on it. I cant blame just Bose for this, because so many other sound bar manufacturers have started leaning this way and it makes absolutely no sense to me! There is literally no way by just looking at this sound bar to easily know what you are doing or what it is doing. When you push buttons on the remote it flashes lights on the front, but who knows what those mean. If im watching a movie, I have no way of knowing if the sound mode is actually playing on Atmos, or if its just playing a surround sound mode. There is no way to change the bass or treble or the mix of the sound without using the app on your phone. I don’t always have my phone right next to me so that’s a real pain in the butt if I need to make sound adjustments. I would much rather have a full featured remote and a display on the front of the sound bar so I know exactly what I am doing and what the sound bar is doing. Yeah, having a display might not look as cool, but it would really help your users out immensely. So I beg you Bose, PLEASE start putting displays on your sound bars again and include full featured remotes. Not everyone has a phone strapped to their hip 24/7. So, my overall opinion on this sound bar is that it will look great in your home and it will sound great whatever you play through it. I would absolutely go with this over any other sound bar, cause I have heard most of them, and they don’t sound as good as this! I have a few gripes about it. But at the end of the day it’s a sound bar, and the sound is amazing!

Bought online reconditioned in excellent condition (it is not an open box item, and bestbuy site says no missing parts). But when I opened the box, to my surprise remote is missing. Talked to customer service and went to store. But no solution. Should have bough a new item from a better place who can at least provide soundbar with all the parts. Lesson learned, never ever buy anything online from bestbuy. There are better and trusted alternatives.

I'm sorry to hear your audio is skipping on your Smart Ultra Soundbar! This of course shouldn't happen, but it doesn't necessarily indicate a fault within the soundbar itself. One thing to try (if you're using an HDMI cable) is the different HDMI-CEC settings in the Bose app. Just tap the Settings icon in the upper-right corner of the app, scroll down to the Power section, and select HDMI Power and Audio. You'll then see several different options, one of which could stabilize the sound. If that doesn't fix it, please contact our support team for further troubleshooting assistance: https://support.bose.com/s/get-help-landing-page?language=en_US. Amazing Soundbar Experience!

The Bose Smart Ultra Soundbar is an incredible addition to any home theater setup. Bose is synonymous with quality sound equipment. I own their Noise cancelling headphones, Bluetooth speakers, and a portable PA system, and all of them are the best products in their category in my opinion. So, it was no surprise to me that when I got the new Ultra Soundbar in my home it blew away my previous tv speaker setup by leaps and bounds. But let’s dive into the meats and potatoes of what makes this soundbar so good. Initial unboxing and setup were very simple and straightforward. The speaker comes in a classy glossy black finish, its downright sexy if I’m being honest. The speaker is lightweight for its size and fit perfectly on my mantle under the tv in our Living room. Provided with the speaker was a high-speed HDMI ethernet cable, a remote, a power cable and a weird looking headset which I’ll get to in a bit. Setting up the speaker itself I took notice of the additional ports behind the speaker for an ethernet cable (but the speaker does have built in Wifi) and optical cable, an AdaptiQ port and a bass plug. Additionally, you can add wireless bass modules 500 and 700 along with the Bose Surround 700 speakers for a complete home theater system. Once everything was hooked up, I used the Bose app to get the speaker setup. It instantly found the speaker and did a software update and then had me do an AdaptiQ sound setup for my room using the headset provided. AdaptiQ considers how your speaker sounds depending on where you sit and adjusts settings accordingly. I found it to be an intuitive feature with the ability to tweak and adjust as needed. The Bose app is very impressive and compliments the speaker very well. It has a multitude of features at your disposal, you can completely control the volume, source, and adjust settings all from your phone. I was able to change the CEC option, so my speaker automatically turns on when I power up the TV. You can connect additional speakers, music services such as Pandora and Spotify, enable Chromecast streaming and Voice assistance through Alexa. Theres also a Voice4Video feature that is extremely impressive in that if you have a cable box attached to your tv you can change channels, HDMI inputs, play music and make phone calls all using voice commands. Being able to say things like Alexa “Watch NFL Network” and it changes on the fly is amazing! The app also has access to things like Local Radio and Podcasts which are sure to be a hit with my wife since she loves her Dateline podcasts and you can even save them as Presets. Another very cool feature is being able to connect your Noise Cancelling headphones or another portable speaker to the setup as well. Overall I was very impressed by all the features the App brings to the speaker itself. The most important part of a sound bar must be the overall quality of the sound, because let’s be honest what’s the point of a bunch of features if the sound isn’t great and this is where the Bose Ultra Sound Bar really excels. With nine total speakers inside this beautiful sound bar, it delivers a rich and immersive audio experience for any home theater or music fan. I am a huge music junkie so the first thing I did once setup was play some of my favorite tunes to see how it sounds and was amazed by how crisp and clear the music was. You would think not having a separate base module would make the sound muddy but that’s not the case at all. I was blown away by how loud the speaker could get as well. I can just envision myself for years to come playing music in our family room through this speaker and it fills my heart with joy. The experience watching movies is no different. There is an especially cool AI feature that they’ve added that detects when vocals are being played and it allows the speakers to separate those to make sure you don’t miss key dialogue in intense sounding scenes. We watched Avatar 2 Way of the Water as the first movie, and I was really impressed by the overall sound quality. For being just a single sound bar, it blew me away with how well it can act as a complete surround sound experience. I think if you paired this with the wireless bass module you would be hard pressed to find a better surround sound experience for the money. We came away very impressed by the movie quality sound and look forward to watching many more movies with this setup. Overall, I can’t recommend the Bose Smart Ultra Sound bar enough for someone looking for an all in one home theater experience. The speaker is synonymous with Bose quality products and is a home run in my opinion. The App experience only adds to the features it possesses. If you’re looking for a great sound bar for your home this is the one, Period.
