    HDMI ARC doesn't work with Samsung TV

    Tried for two weeks to get HDMI ARC to work with my Samsung 6300 4K HD Smart TV. Sounded good with optical cable but that limits my 5.1 Sound. Finally saw blog on Bose Owner Community where Bose is saying they are working with Samsung to resolve the problem. Fist Bose post was November 1, 2016. I am not going to wait for them to come up with a software update. I returned the product to Best Buy and got my money back.

    I have read the review good or bad I wanted to give a try I had a vizio sound system, wanted to replace it . but after listening to the bosesoundtouch300 I realize that the that my old vizio sound better then the bose I had to return it

    It's ok, it is very hard to hook up the cables the way they have the ports configured. Also there is no hook up information on the outside of the box. that would have been very helpful at the store when deciding on which system to buy.

    The speaker sounded ok but being used to seperate speakers paired with a receiver the sound was just not as dynamic, do not like the fact that you cannot adjust the treble or mids, returned and went back to other speakers

    Worked great for a little while, then started to disconnect from my tv and would not work. It got so bad that eventually it only worked using Bluetooth. Using Bluetooth you definitely don’t get a great sound experience either. The speakers that go with it would also not work as well. I read later that Samsung TVs don’t pair well with this... wish I had known that before I dropped all that money on this. Overhyped piece of crap that I wish I had never bought... I won’t buy a Bose product again..

    Incredibly difficult to hook up. I couldn't do it and had Best Buy Geek squad try it. Took him 2 hours but made it work. Still couldn't pair it to my cell phone. Universal remote would not pair with new Samsung 9000 television.

    I was quite excited to try the Bose SoundTouch 300 soundbar. I set it up in my rec room, replacing an older AV Receiver with large floor-standing Yamaha speakers. The setup I had was good but very bulky. The Bose is svelte by comparison, but it packs a serious punch. First and foremost with Bose is the sound quality. The SoundTouch 300 carries on the Bose tradition of impressively detailed and clear sound. There was virtually no distortion at any volume level. Moreover, the soundbar by itself had an excellent bass response. And, of course, it does an excellent job of casting the sound in a field such that it nicely simulates surround sound. Moreover, it includes Bluetooth with NFC and pairs easily with BT devices to allow video and music playback. You could also use Bose’s Wi-Fi solution, which supports music from a variety of sources. My teenage son was ecstatic he could tap his phone against the SoundTouch and immediately begin streaming his music through the system. You can also use the BT feature to connect a host of other Bose devices to the SoundTouch, so you can have a connected sound system in multiple rooms. The sound was great, but my son was even more happy when I connected the Bose Acoustimass 300 (I'll review that unit separately). NOTE - the best connection is via an HDMI ARC port. This is not your standard HDMI port. ARC stands for Audio Return Channel. The ARC port will allow all sound going through the television to flow out through the soundbar. If you do not have an ARC port, you can use the digital audio out or a standard HDMI connection, but the ARC port has more functionality. If you don't have an HDMI ARC port on your television, you may be limited in the number of devices connected to your television that will play through the soundbar. Setup was quick and easy. The system includes a wireless multi-function remote and a wired headset to optimize the soundfield. The optimization process is fairly simple and takes just a few minutes. Pairing with the Acoustimass 300 was quick and simple and added a massive bass presence. The soundbar looks very impressive. It is a large soundbar, so it may not look great with a smaller television. But it looked excellent paired with the 65" Samsung in our rec room. The glass top is quite lovely. The only negative is that there are not many ports on the SoundTouch 300. Pros: --Clear, room-filling sound. --Great look. Cons: --Few ports. Overall, I give the Bose SoundTouch 300 a very high "buy it" rating if you have any interest in a mult-talented soundbar.

    Have the sound bar on my fireplace mantle in the great room. Sound quality is ok but not great as sometimes there’s an echo and the voices are hard to understand in spite of the recommended adjustments

    I had a CineMate 15. I finally sold it. I bought a Soundtouch 300. Brought it home. The next day I took it back. No matter what I did. I could not get any sound.I called Bose. What you get now are people in another country. I kept trying to get someone in the USA. I was on the phone waiting forever. After waiting for about 45min.I got someone. Very bad support. I will never buy a Bose product again. They are overpriced. You pay for something that is way overpriced. And. They are made in Mexico.

    We ended up returning this. It wasn’t what we were looking for. We hoped it would help us hear the tv, it made it louder but you still couldn’t understand what was being said.

    Auto detect and pairing is a pain. It takes a few mins before it’s paired with your tv. You will need to turn off your cell phone Bluetooth when trying to connect tv.

    Was going to take it back but ran out of time. It pales in comparison to the quality of the tv that I bought at the time. Pretty underwhelmed. Save your money and get another brand.

    Average sound. Would NOT play nicely with Sony XBR t.v because of HDMI cable incompatibilities. Ending up paying less,getting better sound, with Sony HT-ST 5000 sound bar and sub.

    This product did not meet my expectation of a traditional Boss product. Bought it so I could use it with my new 65' curved Samsung TV. The sound wasn't great and I had to return back to the store. Connecting the product via Bluetooth with my mobile devices was difficult as it repeated disconnect. Also I could not get connection with TV with HDMI and digital optic cable, could only connect with A/V connection. Currently using my 2012 Samsung DVD player for sound output for my TV and it sounds better in my opinion. Pro: Bluetooth

    I read quite a few reviews of this product prior to purchasing it. I have to admit, most of the negative reviews were right-on. The product is quirky, inconsistent, and difficult to operate. The sound quality was excellent once you got it to work, but I could never get it to work correctly on a consistent basis. The wireless subwoofer kicked in and out constantly, and Bose's recommendation of wiring the wireless sub just wasn't feasible in my setup. Given the high price tag and my lack of satisfaction, I returned it.

    I picked up the Bose 300 last week shortly after being released and was initially hesitant as well due to some other reviews I read. I thought to myself, it's Bose, it has to be great, especially at $699. Well, it was returned the next day and lets just say Bose is not what Bose used to be and I'm echoing a statement provided by other reviewers at this point. I instead went for their major competitor's product in the same price bracket and I'm blown away with the difference in sound, quality, craftsmanship and ease of setup.

    Sounds great, but had a hard time switching source, using the remote etc. Returned the product. But if you can understand the remote and tv interface you will like it.
