A person my age should know better and felt like I wasted the cost of the sound bar and the money of having a geek squad . Your computer geek squad is the best, but the TV and sound bar group is so, so. I will buy from best buy , but not thrilled with this purchase

A very sound purchase!

The Bose SoundTouch 300 Soundbar setup took about 10 minutes to set up including using the included setup manual instructions and the ADAPTiQ configuration tool to configure the system to the environment of the room, mostly for watching TV. Once set up it is quite easy to control using the included remote control. The Bose soundbar is both unobtrusive and at the same time quite elegant while also being a quite sturdy design. I am replacing a 7.1 studio system with the Bose unit as I prefer the Bose unit’s sound quality, especially the base response and the voice priority settings, to the 7.1 system I am currently using. Voice is cleaner and more easily understood. Using the Bose SoundTouch app it is easy to control the base settings when using the optional Acoustimass 300 sub-woofer – I have it connected to the SoundTouch 300 soundbar wirelessly. The black glass top of the soundbar is stunning in its visual depth and clarity - Bose says it is as strong as the equivalent thickness of metal. The perforated wraparound black metal grill complements the black glass perfectly. It cans be used to play selections of music from a variety of sources including Pandora and Spotify although iTunes online streaming would make a great addition. The soundbar esthetically goes best with 42 inch or larger displays (IMHO). Solid yet refined construction make for a very experientially positive experience. it connects to the TV through an HDMI cable (preferably an HDMI arc cable) but can use straight HDMI or digital optical inputs. It is beautiful and it works – a great system with a price to match!

Sounds good, but does not stay connected to wifi

Part of the upcharge is the ability to have multi-room sound. Having to re-add the speaker before use is so annoying. I had planned on adding to the system, but won't now. I have the bar, bass module, and one 10. Wish I had gone with sonos now.

Not OK...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've always been a big BOSE fan, i own several products, but just had a horrible experiences with this specific item..I tried different cables, even different tvs and the sound was cheap, nothing to do with the BOSE brand, had software issues as well, it wouldn't connect to WIFI either and had to use Ethernet connection, tried the software with iPhone and Android and both didn't work, the sound was never big and had this weird Hiss sound, Then I decided to try the SONOS sound bar and it was just AMAZING, didn't have bluetooth like the BOSE but the sound is huge and decided to keep it. I'll still keep my BOSE bluetooth headset and BT SPEAKER as well, but the sound bar definitely a big disappointment.

A glorified noisemaker
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was installing this on my tv and once it was set in place , the sound bar would start making giant pulses for no reason ( the screen was entirely black by the way ) even when I play scenes with tons of action I would hear obnoxious streams that had nothing to do with what was on screen.

Connection Issues

It constantly stops working with my Samsung TV purchased at the same time. Its doing something new now when it is working the tv remote will not work with it. When I first turn it on ok after a few minutes no volume control. I have several Bose products and are happy not this one.

Simple Excellence in a Soundbar
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This is my first Bose Soundbar, I have had Yamaha and others, but none have compared to this. Packaging is well thought out and frustration free which is certainly something nice to see. Once out of the box I think I had this set up in less than 10 minutes. With the sources hooked up to my TV via HDMI (FiOS, Apple TV etc) and the Soundtouch hooked up to the TV via the HDMI ARC (Audio Return Channel) port (most newer TV's over the past few years have this) it could not have been easier. You do have other methods of hook up such as optical and a direct HDMI in to the Soundtouch in the event your TV doesn't have the ARC HDMI port. The Soundbar started working and switching inputs automatically when changing from input to input which couldn't be easier. The real magic begins after you finalize the set up with ADAPTiQ to calibrate the sound with the included headset. Just plug the headset in to the ADAPTiQ port on the Soundbar and push a couple of buttons on the remote and you are voice guided through the sound calibration. You have to walk to 5 different listening positions with the headset on and the Soundbar does the rest, it's very straightforward and takes less than 10 minutes. After that you can enjoy this great sounding Soundbar. The remote is also universal and programmable to work with your TV and a couple of other components but I have a Harmony Remote and did not use that feature. Overall this is a sleek very high quality Soundbar that will help with your overall enjoyment of movies etc

Nothing was provided when shipment was received. Nothing to tell you how to use this remote or anything about the sound bar.

great sound

Worked well before it started acting finicky

The sound quality of the SoundTouch is unrivaled to anything I ever heard of before. Issues arose in about a week after purchase when the audio kept cutting out randomly for a second or so, which completely ruins the audio experience. Very upsetting as I grew up with Bose in my home, and this was my first very own purchase, but I had to return it and probably would not look at the brand one more. Bose's customer support is known to be non-existent, so don't bother with that.
