Never worked!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If I could place a Zero star review I would. I purchased the soundbar with the acoustimass bass and surrounds. After hooking up to my TV and sound system it worked for about an evening and then never worked again. Then I read online how so many people had problems with the same system and their Samsung TV's and that the ARC HDMI connection was the main problem. So I returned the entire system and got a SONOS 5.1 system and works beautifully! I am a bose fan and love the sound in my car but for Samsung TV owners beware!

Posted .Hello gkl2018,
Thank you for providing your review of the SoundTouch 300 soundbar system. We are sorry to hear about the experience you had. We have had some other customers reporting ARC- and CEC-related issues with the SoundTouch 300 and other products that support SoundTouch. According to all investigations we have done so far, there are two possible explanations for this:
1. The issue is not due to issues with any one manufacturer but is a by-product of the fact that HDMI-ARC and -CEC are not standardized from manufacturer to manufacturer, thus potentially causing functionality issues.
2. There have been some individual customer cases where the issue was actually with the TV, rather than with the Bose system. For example, resetting the TV to its factory settings or checking with the manufacturer as to the availability of a TV software update has resolved the issue.
We value your feedback here and see that you have decided to return them but appreciate that you were able to give our system a try! If you have any questions, we would love to hear from you. Please feel free to contact our Bose technical support team at your convenience.
Thank you again,

you got the money you will get the sound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had a bose then got a Visao surround. I returned it because the surround and when playing blu Ray where compressed and dull. I got the full bose 300 system with woofer and invisible speakers. BOY talk about sound from all over and the clarity and depth of sound. You hear things you never hear with other systems in lower price ranges. Blus with the 4K passthrough for future 4k tv was a plus. But if you want incredible sound thats is life like then this complete system is outstanding. it may seem like the bass lows are not always there but when they are part of you recording they will blow you away and its not just booming noise its real bass with clarity of tone. I watched some action blue rays and you got all the crash/bang/boom you need

Disappointing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this thinking it wasn't going to be great, but it didn't have any range. The extra sub I'm sure would've helped, but it costs just as much as the soundbar. NOT WORTH THE MONEY!

Bose Sound Bar
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While looking for a new surround sound, we found this item. PERFECT sound BUT we purchased it with a new 4K and it was not compatible with it. When hooked up to the HDMI via tv it work work for a minute or two then shuts off. You then have to reset everything and it may work for 2 or 3 hours then do it again. After viewing the Bose Community site we found this is a common occurance. Very disappointed spending the money on a Bose expecting Bose quality..not! We returned the unit and purchased the Klipsch..absolutely amazing!!

Absolutely Amazing!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We got the Bose SoundTouch 300 a few weeks ago. We have a professionally installed sound system in our home, but let me tell you I am NOT impressed. I wanted this Soundbar because I wanted to see if it would enhance the surround sound we have now. Well I'm pleased to say we don't even need to use the surround sound system, the SoundTouch 300 is amazing enough by itself! I've been missing out this whole time before we got this, and let me tell you exactly why. First of all, the design is incredible! It's sleek, slim, and simply stunning. Whether you have a lot of room, or barely any at all, it's perfect! We have ours up on our fireplace mantle, and it actually enhances the look of the room overall. From the beautiful glass top to the sleek design of the edges, it's just gorgeous! Second, the sound is way, way better than I ever could have expected. The sound is so clear, so precise, that every time I hear it now, compared to before we had it.. I'm still amazed. Every single time. I can't even imagine what it would sound like connected to some other incredible Bose speakers! I honestly can not say enough good things about this Soundbar. I'm seriously impressed. Third, The setup is so simple. I don't think it could have been any more simple. I mean I am not a tech genius like my husband, but if I can figure this out.. you definitely can! It is also so simple to use! Anyone can use it with no problems! Last, save your money on a super expensive professionally installed surround sound system. Get the Bose SoundTouch 300 Soundbar. Get speakers to hook it up with if you wish, but for me? It's pure perfection just the way it is. This is the best Soundbar we have ever owned, and we owned PLENTY before we had our system installed. We are actually purchasing another one of these for our theatre room as well as our home bar! I have never been more pleased with any Soundbar ever. The design, sound and every other little detail about this Soundbar was made with every customer in mind!

Bose Sound, Bose Quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Top of the line, again! Bose does not miss on this! To note, this review is for the sound bar without the optional optional wireless surround speakers or wireless Acoustimass module. Full set-up instructions had to be accessed online. Set up was a little more involved, but not difficult. For sound customization, set-up uses ADAPTiQ audio calibration where you wear the included headset equipped with a microphone. Bouncing sounds off the walls and ceiling, it calibrated the sound at 5 locations. The sound bar is connected to our 4k TV with an HDMI Arc connection. There are also a regular HDMI as well as optical wire options. Unlike another sound bar I own, there is no delay in receiving my sound when I change channels or when un-pausing a program. All of my devices are connected to my TV (instead of the sound bar) and fed to the sound bar through the Arc connection. Bluetooth allows me to listen to my music from my iPod wirelessly! They all sound amazing! The universal remote is easy to set up and operates other devices. Codes are found in the on-line instruction manual. The buttons are pretty small and tight together. They are a little difficult to figure out at first, but once I learn where they are they will be easier to use. I love the rubber back on the remote because it doesn't slip from my hands or easily slide off a table. Overall, the sound is as expected from Bose! Deep tones, but very clear sound. Even with custom calibration to my room and the sound is excellent around my great room of approximately 30' x25', it does not produce the true surround effect (sounds coming from behind) that additional speakers would provide. Because I do not have the Acoustimass bass module, I do get excessive vibration on my mantle where the sound bar sits. I am going to try to wall mount it to see if that helps. I was told that the Acoustimass would eliminate that.

Lasted 3 months
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. What a waste of money!! It was a great soundbar for the first 3 months but then all of a sudden my tv went mute and my options to select the Bose system disappeared. I have a 75” q8 that I bought the same time. I tried searching for a fix but seems like it’s a defect with the HDMI plug into the soundbar. I tried swapping hdmi cables and that didn’t work...I can still play music through the Bluetooth connection but that’s not why I paid $1000 for this system!!!

Posted .Hello, Mohammed.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review on your SoundTouch 300 soundbar. We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing difficulty using your system with your Samsung Q8 TV.
If you have previously tried a power reset of the soundbar (unplugging the power cable and waiting 90 seconds before reconnecting), we would recommend changing your HDMI CEC setting to 'Alternate On' in the SoundTouch app.
In the SoundTouch app, select Menu > Settings > Speaker Settings > [select your system] > Advanced Setup > HDMI-CEC. Then please select 'Alternate On' and tap the X in the upper right corner to close the window.
If the issue persists, our dedicated SoundTouch specialists will be happy to assist you further at 1-800-608-2673. They are available M-F 9 AM to 9 PM Eastern. Thank you, and have a great day.

Love it!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just purchased the Bose SoundTouch 300 and Acoustimass 300 this weekend to upgrade my home theater system. Up front, I will tell you that I am very happy with the sound quality of both items when they are paired. I am a Bose fan and have been for years owning numerous Bose products. Set up was fairly straightforward. I have an older Samsung LED TV and was upgrading from one of those all in one Samsung home theater units with a built-in Blu-Ray player. I don’t use DVD anymore. I have Apple TV for my movies and streaming from my Apple products as needed. My original concern was the lack of inputs on the back of the sound bar itself. Basically, you have one HDMI connection and one optical digital connection and that is it. I ran my Direct TV connection to the back of my TV with HDMI and the same for the Apple TV and then used the optical digital connection output from the TV to the sound bar. My older (six-year-old) TV acts like a switch for the audio with me plugging in up to four devices via HDMI. I could probably plug older things like RCA jacks too if I wanted. My TV has the optical digital output which goes into the SoundTouch. One cable provides sound for all of my devices so I do not see the lack of inputs on the back of the sound bar as an issue like others have complained about. Calibrating the system was pretty simple. You plug in the headphone looking thing (ADAPTiQ headset) and follow the commands once you press the right buttons on the included universal remote. Speaking of the remote, it is said to be universal but I could not get my TV to work or my Direct TV box to work so I went back to my trusty Logitech Harmony One which works like a champ. Zero issues there. Pairing the Acoustimass 300 was pretty easy, again, you do what the simple instructions tell you to do and that is it. What the instructions do not tell you is how to turn up the volume on the subwoofer. I had to call Bose to get that information. My current set-up is the sound bar and subwoofer and to me, it sounds amazing. I did increase the subwoofer volume two settings just because I wanted to see what it would do and I am impressed. We watched the TV show The Voice last night and the musical performances sounded great to me. Especially with that thumping base. Bose has an application for the iPhone and Android devices but (to me) is not that great. First of all, the sound bar has the ability to play music (once set up) straight from the application using services like Spotify. Pretty cool if you use them but I have playlists on my iPhone that I would prefer to play. You can do this but you have to go through the app on your phone to do this. That isn’t a big deal but what is a big deal when I want to go back and watch TV, I have to get the SoundTouch remote and physically press the TV button to change the output on the sound bar. That is a bit of a pain to do. My solution for that is to just use my Apple TV since that is using the TV output anyway. One less reason to use the remote. If Bose would include the ability to change the output or do the output automatically, that would be a huge gain for people like myself that are not using the remote. It seems like an extra step anyway. The sound bar has NFC in it but I didn’t see any instructions on how to make this work so I will have to take Bose’s word that it works. One more mention about the application is that if you have the Virtually Invisible 300 rear speakers, a new update to the sound bar and application allow you to change the volume of these rear speakers. That is pretty cool since the initial reports I have read said that the volume was low on these units. Since this upgrade has come out, I am now planning to add these rear channel speakers to my system. What the application will not allow you to do is change the volume/output of the subwoofer which is odd to me. The only way to change the output of the subwoofer is using the universal remote which again, I am not using. In a perfect world, the iPhone app would take care of everything for me where I could control output of the sound bar and adjust the subwoofer. I mentioned above that I called Bose for information on the Acoustimass 300. I had read on another site that the pair light on the far right of the lights was supposed to be lit when the unit was paired. Bose informed me that these lights would turn on when the unit was turned on to pair the units and then go away. It would be nice if there was documentation on what the lights mean because they turn different colors, flash, and stay on depending on what you are doing. When the pair light goes off, the Acoustimass 300 is paired if the light on the bottom of the subwoofer is white and not flashing. Who knew? The bottom line here is this. Would I recommend this sound bar? Absolutely. I love everything about it. My system sounds great and looks great too. I plan to add the rear channel speakers soon since I can adjust the volume for these units now using the iPhone app. I wish the iPhone application would allow me to change the output of the sound or the unit would automatically change depending on what it was receiving. I also wish that I could change the volume of the subwoofer through the application like you can the rear channel speakers. These are minor things and I have work arounds for them both. I hope that this review helps you with your decision to either purchase or not purchase the Bose SoundTouch 300 and its components.

Awesome sound period
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bose deserves its reputation for amazing sound. And this product proves it for me. But to begin Ill start with the set up. This was extremely easy to set up. Plug in the power cord. For the sound connection you have 2 options, HDMI, or optical. They recommend HDMI if you have a port that supports “ARC”, which is Audio Return Channel. So I connected the HDMI cable to my Samsung TV's HDMI ARC port. Put the included AAA batteries into the remote, and turn your TV on. In the guide it says to turn on HDMI CEC so I did and immediately got sound from the soundbar. Once you have sound the next step is using the “Adaptiq” headset for audio calibration. So I connected the headset and chose English for the language and was ready to do the calibration. It then tells you audibly to sit at 5 locations where someone would normally sit for TV watching. This calibrates the soundbar for the best sound for those locations. Ive never had something like that before and thought it was pretty cool. After this you are all set up and ready to go. Just to add some people like to also have their TV speakers going along with the soundbar and for me this was easy. I just chose the TV speakers as the output and was able to get sound from my TV and the Bose. After reading the guide a little more I decided to try out another connection type. So I tried to connect to my TV via Bluetooth and had no issues at all. I pressed the Bluetooth button on the remote and then did a search on my TV for Bluetooth audio devices and saw the Bose Soundtouch as an available device. It connected with no issue at all. So if you dont want to connect via HDMI or optical this is another option. But of course you cant talk about a Bose device without talking about the sound. I also have the Bose Acoustimass Bass module, but I tested out the sound on the soundbar alone at first. I watched some Netflix, and listened to some music and was very impressed. Even without the Bass module it had good bass, and very clean and clear sound. Its really amazing how much sound can come from this. Bose really does deserve its reputation for amazing sound and devices. It also comes with a very nice universal remote that has several functions and the ability to control multiple devices. If you are looking for a soundbar system look no further. The Bose Soundtouch 300 is a must to add to your Home theater set up.

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Product stopped working after only 3 months. One day for no apparent reason, it would not power up. BOSE knocks this one out of the park.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It was time to upgrade and replace my analogue SONY A/V amplifier and matched Infinity speakers with a POLK sub woofer that I purchased circa 2002. I researched prices, features, reviews and sound quality before I decided on the BOSE Soundtouch 300 sound bar with the BOSE 300 Accoustimass wireless sub woofer and two wireless BOSE speakers. In order to understood the new technology, features and set up procedures I downloaded and read all of the product manuals and quick start guides of this and other products about two weeks ago.. After hearing the SONY, SONOS, and BOSE systems, the BOSE system literally blew the other two away!! Many reviewers on the various forums and tech product websites agreed with my assessment. The only downside is the price tag. First I purchased the upgraded HDMI cables that support the ARC feature and UHD 4K, should I purchase a TV with 4K. My 55" Sony TV does have an ARC enabled HDMI input. It took about 2 hours to install and program all of the speakers, I phone apps, remote control and enable the Bluetooth capabilities. After the initial sound bar installation, the rest went quickly as I understood and repeated the procedure. Wait until all of your speakers are installed and programmed and then put on the headset and balance the system for your room, instead of repeating this several times. The sound is rich, and the wireless is reliable so far. The sound for movies, streaming music from my I Phone, Amazon Fire and DIRECTV is concert hall quality! The entire system is a little pricey, but hopefully will be well worth the $1,700 for the soundbar, SW and two speakers. I would recommend this system to anyone interested, but educate yourself on what you are purchasing first.

Excellent by itself, even better with the sub
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a little bit nervous to buy the soundtouch 300 so soon after it was released since it is so expensive and there are so few detailed online reviews but after purchasing it I have been extremely pleased. Setup: The setup was very easy on my 75 inch sony 4K TV via HDMI ARC. Just power cord and HDMI connect to the TV. ADAPTIQ was very easy setup, 5 minutes, plugged in the cord and put on the included headset, follow the instructions provided and done. Downloaded the app from the App Store and connected via Wifi using the instructions, very straightforward in my opinion and I am not a tech person. I am still waiting for the Subwoofer to arrive so I cannot comment on setup however I understand it is wireless. The App: Through the app I am able to play my spotify, pandora etc very easily. Can control speaker volume. If you own other bose speakers, subwoofer, rear speakers, other speakers in the kitchen, bedroom etc you can control which speakers to have on/off and individual volumes through the app. Sound: The sound is beyond what I expected. It has a wide soundstage and the sound really fills the room. The Bass on the sound bar is adjustable and is really quite impressive for a sound bar on its own. The audio on tv/movie is clear and has really enhanced my tv/movie viewing experience. Something I wasn't expecting is how good music would be, I actually enjoy listening to music on the soundbar more than tv/movie and I don't even have the sub yet. I have only heard the sub in the store so far but it was thunder and non distorting. I would highly recommend this soundbar to anyone looking a this price range.

BOSE Soundbar sounds pretty sweet...for a soundbar
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First wanted to say that BOSE didn't have much instructions included with the packaging but for a basic setup it isn't needed. Also info online was limited due to this being a initial launch testing. Wow, if you like or need a soundbar then I would have to go with this unit. I have never liked a sound bar before (yes even the Klipsch unit) hearing this BOSE Soundtouch system. But if you have limited space or are unable run wiring etc. then you must get this system to avoid any disappointing tinny systems from other manufactures. Not only is the soundbar sharp looking but it's also very solid. Feels nice and solid and will likely last forever. Its hefty and well built. Comes in very nice packaging and sets up in minutes. I set this system up with the Acoustimass 300 sub and was pleased with the results. I tried our large living room and a small game room with zero disappointments. Pair this system with the virtually invisible wireless Bose speakers for true surround sound and wire free. Perfect for the DIY'er and those renting or living in a apartment. I wasn't dissatisfied with music, movie or gaming audio. Setup was simple but I wish I had more control over the EQ and or bass and treble settings. Zero distortion no matter how loud I cranked it up. I can't see a reason not to purchase this Bose unit unless your are building a home theater, in that case you would never want to purchase a soundbar anyway. Like I said before though if your options are limited then this is the next best thing. Beats horrible TV speakers any day and puts its rivals to shame.

Very Disappointing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very poor sound quality. Voices not crisp and clear. Very few options for managing sound. Quite possibly need to spend another $1100 on top of the $700 investment on the soundbar to even come close to good sound; an investment too risky to take without knowing what the result would be. I have a $400 Sony unit that well outperforms this Bose unit.

The Bose Soundtouch 300 Soundbar
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The soundbar, remote, power cable, high-speed HDMI, optical cable and ADAPTiQ headset. and microfiber cloth are all included. I was excited to have a slim soundbar, especially one with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi capabilities. I was honestly expecting it to be slimmer than it is. The dimensions of mine are 2 1/4" tall, 4" deep, and 38 3/8" long. It's black and shiny, with a glass top. We have it sitting on top of our built in cabinet but there is an option to wall mount it. The hardware for wall mounting is not included. Set up took quite a while. It's a bit extensive. I don't understand it all, so I had my husband do it. To set up the soundbar and Bose Acoustimass 300 Wireless Bass module, Bose SoundTouch app, and universal remote, it was almost 2 hours to do everything but he said it wasn't too bad and pretty easy for him. We have the soundbar directly connected to the TV and router. Once the soundbar was connected, the next step is to put on a wired headset, move around the room where you usually sit and it calibrates the soundbar. We had to do the entire process a few times. On the first try, one of the locations didn't give a good read while the wire was extended it's full length. And then once it was all set and we hooked up the Bass sub, we had to calibrate again. After that, he worked on the remote. To eliminate the need for multiple remotes, we have the universal remote set up to work and control the TV, cable box (with DVR and On Demand), apple TV, and Acoustimass 300 Wireless Bass module. It didn't take too long for my husband to program. There is a manual to help set it up. It's a much nicer, sleeker remote than the one from our cable company. We have the TV volume completely down so all of the sound runs through the bar. The sound is much improved from our TV. My complaint is that while we control the volume on the sound bar, it's hard to tell what level the volume is at. I'm used to the TV with numbers and to make sure it doesn't get too loud. (My kids like to turn the volume way up so now it's harder for me to give them a guideline.) When you set up the SoundTouch app, there can only be 1 account holder tied to the soundbar. It's not a huge deal for us but there are 6 preset numbers for radio stations and if you like more than that between you and the household, you might have to compromise. We really enjoy streaming music wirelessly through the soundbar, to get the best possible sound. We use it almost everyday. It's a nice alternative to the TV. Overall, the Bose Soundtouch 300 Soundbar and Acoustimass 300 Wireless Bass module work together nicely. We're really excited to have this Bose system. This our first system like this and would never consider anyone else.
