Traded in old Sonos Playbar for this and love it
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lets face it, Sonos had the market cornered with wireless multi room sound for years and they nailed the TV soundbar market with great sound and wireless to boot. Unfortunately they never kept up with the times and their 4 year old sound bar was dated and too big and ugly for a stylish set up so I wanted to trade up and out of the Sonos ecosystem. Bose has been doing audio for years and has the market cornered when it comes to great sound and home theater. This item is no exception. Alone it sounds good, but throw in the Acoustimass Sub and the Invisible surrounds and you will get a complete 5.1 system that sounds great. Plus the bar looks sleek and stylish on the wall and so do the other speakers. They do not look like humongous boxes on stands and the sound bar does not take up my mantle space. Granted the Bose app needs lots of work and they are still working out kinks with the ARK HDMI but they are one of the few soundbars that has ARK HDMI and Sonos is still stuck with just an optical option. Do yourself a favor, investigate both of these systems. I think you will come away going with Bose over Sonos.

one of the best soundbar on the market
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is probably the best soundbar currently on the market. The bose patented adaptIQ is another winner, which is featured on this soundbar 300. I currently only have the soundbar so this will only be the pros and cons of the soundbar, not with the bass. Pros: 1) slim soundbar that really packs a punch. with bose's adaptiq, the soundbar creates an amazing surround high def sound in my living room. My living room is currenly about 400 sq ft and while watching avengers: civil war, i feel like i was hearing the movie in a theater. 2) sleek looking... with tempered glass on top 3) easily connects to bluetooth/hdmi/spotify/pandora 4) it was fun and easy to setup 5) did i mention that it sounds amazing already? Cons (maybe i am being a bit too picky): 1) for those who have older tvs without a ARC HDMI port... you are out of luck. This soundbar only comes with 1 HDMI and 1 digital audio connection. So in order for this work perfectly, you will need a TV with ARC hdmi port, or an audio receiver, or something like a roku that has a digital audio connection. IT HAS NO ANALOG 3mm port :( 2) It takes around 2 mins for it to switch from tv mode to bluetooth, and another 2 mins to swap to streaming music:( not too sure why it takes so long 3) the tempered glass on top is... definitely not thumb-proofed I would definitely recommend this soundbar... it sounds impeccable and gives an amazing experience... only if you have the right equipment

Great size and stellar volume!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is awesome for people like my husband and I. We just recently had twins so we will not be going to the movie theater for quite a while. This option is perfect for us to feel like we are at the theater, but in the comfort of our own home. As those who frequent the electronic world, we know that Bose is synonymous with the highest of quality. However, in this instant there were a few things lacking with this particular product. The time it takes for the system to shut off was too short. There was no display to show how high or low the volume was going. The lack of trouble shooting options to help you figure out the set up could be improved upon as well. We used the product as a secondary audio source considering its inconvenient auto shutoff function. The design was everything that we expected from a Bose product. It was clean, sleek and shiny. It is not too bulky and fit very well with our current electronic setup. It was not easy to use. If you do not have a background in electronics it would probably take you over an hour to set up this product. Once the setup is complete, it is fairly straightforward. The features that I was satisfied with include the universal remote, the height of the volume and the size of the product overall. I would recommend this product to my friends and family, but I would suggest doing research in order to help with the setup process.

Great sound but lacks in features
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My wife and I purchased this the other day as we decided to downscale our home theater system to a more compact footprint. First informals to, proceed cautiously if you were going to connect it to a Samsung television. There have been dozens of complaints regarding issues between this sound bar in Samsung televisions. The sound is not as rich as the in-store demo however I expected that going in. Nothing ever sounds the same when you get it to your home. It does sound very good however. Where it falls short is features. We have it hooked up to our 65" KS8000 Samsung television via ARC. Because the sound bar has an 18 minute standby timer, if you pause or mute your program, it goes into standby mode after 18 minutes and shuts your TV off. I'll save you the time of searching the Internet. There are hundreds of complaints regarding this and Bose has yet to incorporate the ability to disable the standby feature or at least the ability to turn off the power toggle signal through the ARC channel. I read it is going to be addressed in the next firmware update however there is no telling when that is going to be so aware that if you plan on hooking it up via the ARC connection, you're going to run into this. The other feature at lacks is an on-screen display for volume. Unless your TV supports a volume indicator for HDMI ARC, you won't have any visual indicator of the volume. Another lacking feature is the ability to set a power on volume level. This immediately I found annoying when the system was turned off at a high volume and then powered back on at the same volume level. Another minor annoyance is the indicator lights at the front of the unit. Again, for the price point of the system you would think that for convenience she would be able to turn off or at least dim the lights for night time viewing. They are not excessively bright however I do find them catching my attention from time to time when viewing in a dimly lit room. Last but not least is the SoundTouch app. It is functional if streaming music is your thing however it is not feature-rich for tuning the sound bar as noted, the sound bar itself doesn't have very many customizable features. It has wonderful sound however for the price point I do find it drastically lacking in features. To be quite frank, I am considering returning it for the $299 Samsung 2.1 channel.

Great sound, not user friendly for set up and use
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was extremely excited with Bose came out with this system - I have lots of Bose products and have always been a happy customer. First off, the sound is great. Here's is the downside. I could only figure out how to stream music via Bluetooth despite it saying Wi-Fi on the side of the box. So I'd start playing music, but after awhile it just shuts off because it doesn't think you are listening to it anymore. i usually leave the music on for my dogs when I got to work, but every time I came home it was shut off. I tried to find a resolution on the website and wrote in my question but no one got back to me. I ended up returning the soundbar and surround speakers and purchased another set of Sonos speakers.

Nice Soundbar

IT WAS A PROJECT BUT WELL WORTH IT!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The initial set-up was a little tricky, there’s no display menu, so you can’t see what is taking place. I had to go through the instruction process 3 times until I got it right. But once I figured it out, the sound made up for the aggravation. I didn’t think a sound bar could produce such a great surround sound effect. Bottom line, the Bose - SoundTouch 300 soundbar in combination with the Bose - Acoustimass 300 wireless bass module is incredible. The sound is crisp, clear, powerful and if you don’t find yourself hitting the mute button to see if there’s something somewhere in the room, get your ears checked :)

Really Great Sound Bar
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really enjoy having this sound bar...I can listen to music anywhere in the house without disturbing my neighbors...set up was somewhat easy...I just can't for the life of me get it to connect to my TV...Other than that I'm happy with the product

Really wanted to like the Bose SoundTouch soundbar
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really wanted to like this soundbar. I've had a number of other Bose products and they've served me well. A few things to think about if you're considering purchasing the Bose... I'm highly tech savvy, and actually enjoy figuring out hardware and software issues. That said, Bose's poorly integrated hardware and software defeated me. Try as I might, I could not get the device updated using the iOS app on my iPhone. I even followed the instructions to wait well past when the progress bar reached 99%, but for me it never went above 89%, and this was after an hour. I finally gave up. I'm certain a Bose representative will reply to this review saying, "We're sorry you encountered problems, etc., etc." If someone who enjoys problem-solving tech problems ran out of patience before resolving the issues, what chance does your average user have? Regarding the hardware, the power cord is ridiculously short -- way too short to route between slots on an entertainment center or stretch from an entertainment center to the wall without an extension cord. Small, intense white lights (wi fi and power indicators) are in an "always on" state on the front of the soundbar, which is distracting for a device that's intended to sit directly below your television. Plus, the wi fi light stays on all the time, even after the television has been turned off and the soundbar has presumably powered down. Worst of all, the top surface of the soundbar is glossy, reflecting the bottom 4 inches of picture on your television (when positioned where you would normally place a soundbar). Just what you want -- doubled images of people's feet and chins while you're enjoying your favorite movie. On the plus side, sound quality is good, certainly an upgrade from the speakers in your television, no matter how expensive your tv is. Be forewarned, however -- without the subwoofer (another $699), the SoundTouch isn't a meaningful improvement over the Atmos-powered speakers in most $2,000+ televisions. As noted, I wanted to like the SoundTouch but, given the issues and distractions, it's going back to Best Buy.

Very good but not perfect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pros: Very clear low mids. Gets very loud. Voices are good for TV and movies because of the strong deeper voice tones. Cons: High mids seem to be missing. Not enough highs, which don't seem very present especially in music. IMO this unit is useless without the bass module for music with strong beats or for watching action movies. *If all you need is a soundbar, you wont get any deep bass that you can get from a $100 one with its own built in subwoofer. Also, its not worth buying for $700 if you dont plan on also buying the bass module.

The best SoundBar on the market 2017

Excellent design, even better sound!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This might be on the best soundbars out there right now. At least it's for me. My family's had several other company soundbars in the past and they were never truly impressive, but this Bose one is! The sound quality is amazing, the design is sleek and clean looking. It produces/simulates excellent surround sound even without the extra speakers and subwoofer. The sound is crisp and is worth the BOSE name. My friends and family are jealous, having had me show it off to them. Overall, the best soundbar I've ever owned. Definitely worth it if you're a cinephile like me. Try watching Interstellar with it!

Great sound for all occasions
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got this so I could upgrade my sound system for gaming, movies, and TV. Figured that since this was a Bose product I would also have a great experience for playing music on it and it did not disappoint. I connected my google chromecast to it and use Google Music to steam music through it and it sounds great. When I switch gaming I now prefer to hear everything through the soundbar instead of my high end headset. This is one of the few Bose products where they've included the ability to change the bass that the speaker uses and it really adds to the flexibility of the product. Highly recommend.

Expensive But Well Worth It
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ignore the reviews about no highs or lows, must be Bose. This unit mated to the Bose wireless sub produces a magical experience. The self tuning mode from Bose is genius and works wonderfully. The soundbar provides a superior soundstage with superb left, right, and center channel distinctions. Powerful booming sound from the soundbar by itself, but adding the sub is mandatory. Netflix movies sound amazing.
