Strong, Crisp Sound Coming From Everywhere

We were tired of relying on the TV's built-in sound to try to decipher Geordie accents, among others, while streaming programs through various sources. No offense, but even the better TVs are awful for clarity. Enter the Bose SoundTouch System! Coupled with the wireless rear speakers and sub, there is absolutely no difference between sitting on the couch and having a live conversation with a gentleman from Newcastle. Never mind that the explosions from action flicks will throw you out of your seat. Painless setup in twenty minutes, including the nifty "calibration", which can easily be readjusted.

Great sound bar, for a sound bar. I've been looking for years for a quality sound bar without having to pay the big bucks. I've owned about 4 to date and most of them were returned. Bose did a great job with their display and I have to say I was a little disappointed at first when I got home. After reading some of the manuals online I finally figured out how to tweak it bit and it does sound much better now. The HDMI cord always works much better than the optical cord for quality and ease of use. If you are going to spend the money the SUB is a must have. It truly makes the difference. I have both and spent the $1500. Still debating on if it's worth the change. If money isn't a big deal this is def one of the best options for a simple setup system without having to go and get multiple items like receives and multiple speakers.

Amazing sound quality, before purchasing this I was using a Sony CTHT370, which was a 2 speaker sounbar and a 8'' wireless bass module. This sound bar without a doubt blows that out of the water. I did not purchase the acostimass yet, but I am planning it. The boss sound bar has pretty decent bass, but lacking without an added subwoofer. This this throws sound to make it come from places were no speaker actually are. Update: I have been using the system for about 2 weeks now without running the AdaptIQ, today I ran the AdaptIQ, the sound quality is noticeably better! I wanted to see if this was a gimmic or not, it is much needed!

I am in love with this soundbar! It's hard to believe that it packs as much punch as it does. I'd be surprised to find another soundbar with equal sound quality. Don't be afraid of the price...it's worth it.

Remember to go through the set-up again every time you decide to move the bar to a different location in the room. I made the mistake of doing set-up and then moving it and being annoyed at the bad sound quality. But once I went through set-up again the sound quality returned. Also, not comparable to Bose computer speakers, so best not to try.

I'm using this in my living room and it sounds great. It fills the room and even makes my dog wonder where the sound is coming from. My only complaint is it is not very compatible with my Samsung TV when it is connected via an HDMI input. Every time I turn the TV on or change inputs, it automatically changes to the HDMI 4 input, which is where I have the soundbar plugged into. To my knowledge there is no way to fix the issue. My only option is to use the optic cable instead of the HDMI. It might work better with a different brand. I did choose this soundbar over the Sonos. I've been pleased with my purchase.

    Bose vs Sonos.

I was looking for a surround sound system that would allow me to get great 5.1 sound without the need to run wires everywhere. I searched and searched and realized that there wasn't too many options available, especially for a regular system with AV receiver. After much research and a trip to my local BestBuy store I compared the sound of the Sonos soundbar and the Bose. After much deliberation we ended up buying the Sonos. While setup was a breeze, and sound quality was excellent, the optical connection only quickly turned out to be too lack luster. I could not get dolby digital or DTS out of my Bluray player and felt like I ended up with a very expensive stereo system. I boxed it all back up and returned to the store to get the Bose soundbar along with the rear speakers and sub. Setup was definitely not as easy as the Sonos. The Bose instructions were quite awful to say the least but I got it running. The HDMI ARC connection made things easier and I was able to get Dolby Digital and DTS for true surround sound. At first I was not very impressed by the sound quality. It felt like the trebles were overpowering and the sound lacked mid ranges and bass. I was shocked since many people online were raving about the sub. I did some more research online and quickly found a way to adjust the bass. As soon as I did it the sound got much better and we were sold. For its size it is a pretty impressive system and it transformed our living room into a movie theater. I love the sub, it produces loud and deep basses that make you feel right in the middle of the action. The rear speakers are small and powerful enough for surround sound. My only complaint is that they come with a huge power box that make the small speakers hard to hide. I bought the Bose mounts and installed the speaker on the wall behind my couch and I ended up installing a small shelf to put the power box. The Sonos speakers were a bit bigger but they don’t have that annoying box that you need to hide. Overall I am very satisfied with the system. It produces great sound for music and movies. You can connect to it via Bluetooth or Wifi and you can play music from any device in your home. My only complaint and the reason why I only gave it 4 stars is because Bose support is absolutely useless. They have forums online and Bose technicians appear nowhere to be found. Users are helping each other out and asking for Bose’s input and there rarely is any type of feedback. This is quite disappointing for a Company that charges this type of money for their product and wants to be considered high end. As long as you don’t need Bose’s support you should be able to enjoy this product for years to come.

    Room filling sound

I understand it's an expensive speaker but it has been worth the price in my opinion. It's in my living room which is about 15x20 and it fills the room with sound when I play music. It's also been great with TV shows and the audio is crisp and clear. I haven't watched a movie with it yet. I had a sub before and haven't noticed that I don't have one now. I'm sure the bass is better with the subwoofer but it's still good without. I'm very impressed with how much better this is than my klipsch g-42 which was the same price, plus it needed a receiver to operate. I'm very happy with my upgrade.

This is a pretty good soundbar. I was looking at the SONOS and Bose soundbars. I went with Bose because it fit perfect under my TV. The SONOS has incredible sound as well but it was taller in design and I didn't care for that silver finish. The silver finish would distract me with time. The Bose 300 has a slick glass design on top and metal screen whereas the SONOS has a cloth screen. Both are great soundbars, but it comes down to what color and design do you want. BOTH have excellent sound, you can't go wrong with either. Again, the Bose fit under my TV.

First, my setup is 3.1, not 5.1. I have yet to purchase the rear wireless speakers, so my review is just of the base, 3.1 system. I have had soundbar systems in the $400 range and always resisted going up to the more pricey systems. I looked at Sonos and it is limited for A/V, which is my primary use. Plus, the strengths of the Sonos have been met handily by Bose with their app for streaming audio wirelessly. In the past I have avoided Bose because it seemed trendy and overpriced. Having had this now for over a month, I am blown away by it daily. The sound is truly amazing. Watching shows that have good sound design and mixing will never be the same! Because the system comes with room setup software for the initial setup, I don't really feel a need for the rear speakers, but I'm sure at some point I'll try them out. Hopefully they are worth it. Just saying, because if you are on the fence about 3.1 or full 5.1, this system performs great with the base purchase. Here's where I really like this system for TV/movies: with my old Sony soundbar, dialog was inevitably much quieter than the sound effects/music in the background. So, if a part of a show was really filled with action and noise, I'd have to turn down the audio and then turn it back up for dialog-heavy sections. The Bose is perfectly balanced and requires none of that. For music: I stream via bluetooth to it using Apple Music; the Bose app has built-in streaming via Amazon Music (which I use as well) and a few other providers. It's great for my whole family to have access to turn on music whenever they want from anywhere in the house. Finally, this is probably not the best audio system if you don't want to wake the neighbors. In other words, this is really good quality audio with which you will hear subtlety that you are unused to. This causes the volume to rise, I've found. It's not that it's loud, so much as it is filled with clarity. The booms are boomier and the screams are screamier. It draws you into whatever you are watching. (Just saw "Solo" yesterday and remarked how bad the audio was at the theater- it really bugged me. That's how much better my audio is!) But . . . it will wake the neighbors if you live too close. If I watch a movie after my kids go to bed, they inevitably complain.

We have this 300 soundbar for one TV as well as the 700 for another and both with the matching subs. Naturally, the 700 sounds richer and projects better but the 300 is just fine for a TV where getting that "big" cinematic sound isn't critical. For example, watching the news and sitcoms, the 300 is just fine. For movies with nice soundtracks, you will appreciate the step up to the 700, although the improvements come at a cost. Plan to get a sub to go with either soundbar. It will definitely make an improvement, especially in a larger room at higher volumes. All considered, the 300 does a very nice job and is recommended.

I've been truly impressed with the virtual surround sound that this soundbar produces. You must run the Adaptiq tool which makes you sit at 5 different locations while the unit emits a noise for about 10 seconds. Once you finish setting up that setup process, then you'll truly get the benefits of its sound quality. When sitting directly in front of the unit, you will hear sounds coming from all around your room as this unit truly gives you a surround sound by using just one central unit. I don't even have the rear speakers or the subwoofer and this thing still delivers. I tested a Vizio 3.1 sounder previously and although it was good and had cool features, this unit really does blow me away and I'm happy I chose this unit. Yes it is more expensive but it really does sound amazing. The app that you use to set it up can most likely be the only problem as it first tries to locate your soundbar through your phone already connected wireless setup. This didn't work too well for me as it seemed to get hung up a couple times. I ended up directly plugging in the soundbar to my router just to speed up the setup process. The bose app is ok although recently it just got updated with a new look and feel which is much better looking. I would like to note to get the manual off of their website as there are some more instructions listed in the online documentation than what comes in the box. For example, things like using some of the buttons on the controller. The manual in the box doesn't really explain what all the features do on the remote. For example, you can control the amount of bass the unit is putting out and there is even a button on the remote to put the soundbar in a more speech friendly mode where the bass gets lowered and the speech gets clearer. This is really useful when watching tv late at night and you don't want deep bass rumblings which is useful if you're in an apartment for example. Also, if there is too much background noise in your program, this will help filter out that noise and just focus on the dialogue of the movie/show. Playing music on this unit is great and I think that is where this unit really shines. It truly sounds incredible. It's also an added benefit that you can play spotify directly from you computer or phone/tablet to the unit without the need of switching inputs. It changes automatically for you. Your app will locate the unit in your network and play seamlessly. I'd highly recommend this unit. It's pricey but you won't be disappointed.

Clear voice quality and fun loving high volume songs listen experience. With full volume up its make my house exterior full vibration, its amazing product i am loving this. I have 65' LG TV so during connection i am not able to figure out HDMI not working, but use lighting/fiber optic cable that's working just plug-play without any setting.

This soundbar is fantastic and does a great job of filling the room with sound. Its almost eerie how well it projects sound out sideways. Seeing a car drive by on screen would sound a lot how it would in real life: you would hear it coming from the far left, cross in front of you, and then hear it off into the distance on the far right, basically 90 degrees. Hard to explain, but well worth a demo in-store. Be advised it does have a little bassy punch, but nothing crazy. You will probably want the separate subwoofer to go along with it.
