This sub has real tight clean bass. The finish is exceptional. Only complaint is it could be a little louder.

I got it as a close out which made it perfect. I like the smaller speaker sub. It's much tighter and less booming. It has a setting that allows you to keep it on for 30 minutes once the auto on begins

I also own a Velodyne ULD15 so I understand bass. I use the ULD-15 on my downstairs soundsystem. My Video soundstage required a smaller unit but one with enough push to satisfy. I spend a great deal of time researching and almost bought a REL subwoofer. I heard the ASW10CM subwoofer at one of Best Buy's Magnolia stores and that was all I needed. I was further convinced by the power and the finish. I have lived with the subwoofer now (along with CM8's and a CM series center channel) for 2 months. Although the subwoofer is a bit pricey, to me it was worth the purchase This subwoofer oozes with quality of build. I recommend this product for the reasons stated, very highly.

    Bass-thumping with B&W

I've paired this subwoofer with the B&W CM10 tower speakers, the B&W CMC2 center channel speaker, and the B&W CM5 bookshelf speakers (for surround channels) for a complete 5.1 home theater setup. This subwoofer produces clear, hard-hitting bass that adds extra depth to my movie-watching experience. Unfortunately, I live in a townhouse and share walls with neighbors, so I don't even have the volume up as loud as recommended; however, it still sounds amazing. On a side note, I connect my receiver to the subwoofer using the Audio-Quest Irish Red subwoofer cable.

    Excellent Subwoofer

Let's face it, one of the toughest peformance issues with any given hometheater/stereo set up is the reproduction of accurate low end (<120hz) detail with precise accuracy. While most mass produced inexpensive subs will perform respectfully during moving play back, they rarely do when it comes to musical content that is bass intensive, as they are characterized by slobby response and distortion. The Bowers and Wilkins AWS10CM does not fall victum to any of these short comings. The woofer itself is paper wrapped in kevlar which allows for a light weight driver, which can move a lot of air, without distorting and needing an immense amount of wattage. A 500 watt Class D amp provides plenty of juice to push this woofer even at the most demanding volume levels. The 10 inch driver, in my opinion, is the right sized sub to go with unless you have a massive room. It hits deep accurately and is not subject to a lot of the distortion larger drivers fall victum too. The only draw back is that they typically do not hit the 20hz frequency range which is the lowest end of the spretrum that humans can hear. Howerver, the AWS10CM will go as low as 25hz, which is darn close. I have the entire B&W setup, the cm9's the cm center 2, and the dps rears, and this sub images perfectly with them. Overall, this sub is excellent and the best one that can be bought at Best Buys Magnolia Home Theater. Don't let them tell you that Def Tech supercube is the best one, because its not. Too small of drivers and passive radiators are a fancy version of a sub port.

As soon as I opened the box, I felt the quality of this sub and smiled to myself and saying. "Wow". Needless to say, I could not wait to hear it. It did not disappoint! It's not as big as some others but it does a tremendous job of getting the sound just right and not sounding muddy. I just love this sub!

The clarity is amazing. Aside from its ability to play effects as needed -LFE, It is incredibly musical. At the store we were able to compare all sub woofers on hand(5) with no other speakers playing, and as much as I wanted to like the less costly ones, there was no comparison.

It took me a long time to decide to buy because it so expensive but I have to try it but not too bad so far. It great dancing and party, for it produces a powerful bass with a clear punch making listeners moved. I have a set with all B&W speakers and Maranzt receiver; it gives me the best surround sound system I ever have.

Great look, excellent sound, at a big $1500 price. You pay for quality. I love them. The sound & power are phenomenal as I'm using them w/ the new Onkyo TX-NR809 receiver. Highly recommended. I'm glad I paid more to get the better sub.
