This center channel speaker sounds absolutely amazing. I've paired this center channel speaker with the B&W CM10 tower speakers, the B&W CM5 bookshelf speakers (for surround channels), and the B&W ASW10CM subwoofer for a complete 5.1 home theater setup. I based my purchase of the larger CMC2 (6 1/2" woofers, 3-way) over the smaller CMCC (5" woofers, 2-way) on the fact that the majority (~60-80% of a movie’s soundtrack) comes primarily through the center channel followed by the front channels. That is also why I bought the larger CM10 tower speakers over the smaller CM8 tower speakers. It is well worth the extra money for the larger CMC2. Dialogue from movies and television is crystal clear. It also has dual binding posts, which allow it to be bi-amped, or have it connected to your A/V receiver via a single speaker cable such as the Audio-Quest Rocket 33 speaker cable that divides into separate low and high frequency outputs for each of the left and right channels. I highly recommend this center channel speaker (and matching fronts and surrounds) for your home theater setup. You will not be disappointed.

Perfect complimenting center to my CM-5s. 3-way design. Dialog is very crisp. I am so glad I got this bigger center channel instead of the CMC. Give this speaker a try and I promise you will not be disappointed.

This is a great center channel to pair with the CM series loudspeakers. It, like the CM series is difficult to drive. If you do not have an amplifier that can deal with 4 ohm loads, then you might want to pass on this speaker though. Lastly, the fit and finish is excellent as well as the dynamics and range.

I just upgraded to this from a B&W CC6 S1 and man, it was like I was watching movies with earmuffs on for the last ten years. The clarity and bass extension are incredible. If you're planning on a CM series setup for a home theater, do yourself a favor and get this center channel speaker and not the smaller model. Remember that 90% of the sound you are going to hear during a movie is going to come through this speaker so it's extremely important. This thing weighs in at over 40 lbs. that is one serious center channel! I can't say enough about the gloss black finish either. It is absolutely beautiful. I looked at both of the other finishes and the wenge is also a good real hardwood veneer if you want a natural wood look. I do woodworking in my free time and can tell you, the veneers and finishes in general are top notch. The binding posts on the rear are solid and in the same category as the highly sought after WBT binding posts. If you plan on using spade termination for your speaker cables make sure you get the large size. The posts themselves are large diameter. (ex. Kimber Postmaster 33). The way they angled the posts is also nice. On my old CC6 they were both flat, which would make it hard to use spades on a bi-wire or bi-amp. I'm feeding this off one of the channels on my Sunfire Cinema Grand Signature @ 405 W and it just sings. Smooth, almost silky highs, prominent midrange and bass punch you rarely see from a center channel speaker. They didn't have this model at Best Buy so I had them special order it. Since they only had the smaller CM model I couldn't audition it but rest assured, it is absolutely worth double the price of the smaller center. Having auditioned dozens of different brands and levels of speakers I can honestly say the whole CM series is an absolute STEAL at these prices for the sound quality you get. Get a nice amp/processor combo or hearty receiver and some quality speaker cables and be ready to fall in love!

This speaker pairs well with the cm10s that I am using. It eliminates the muddied sound I was getting when I was using an old Bose speaker for the center channel. Great choice, quality build.

This center channel is a beast. It offers a similiar driver setup as the CM9's/CM8's. The FST midrange is slightly smaller too keep cabinet size to a minimum. It voice matches the cm series perfectly. Aside from all the technical specs that make this speaker incredible, I was truly impressed with the frequency dispersion throughout my room. No matter where I sat, from 0 to 180 degrees from the speaker, I heard crystal clear dialetic and booming on screen effects with no obvious deadzones in the sound. This is particulary important to me, as I general draw a crowd to watch new bluray releases on my system. I also really like Bowers and Wilkins mindset that simpler is better. These drivers are so well made that they don't need to use any sort of fancy crossover. They refer to this as minimalist crossovers. What this means for non audiophiles out there, the speaker does not work hard to isolate frequencies and send those frequencies to the right driver (tweeter, midrange, and woofer). Less signal manipulation equates to a listening experience much closer to the original recording. One minor draw back is this speaker is not magnetically sheilded. This would mean trouble for any old school crt monitors being used out there still, as the stray magnetic fields can cause permanately gausing. This is not a problem with LCD's or Plasma's though. Overall well done B&W, well done!!!

It is a lot better than smaller speakers. Sounds great listening to any type of music, watching TV, and watching movies.

If you are looking for a quality crystal clear sound this is it

I decided to upgrade my equipment because during movies and tv shows there were several times that the dialog seemed to be very muddled. I previously had Paradigm CC-190. I admit that my setup is not optimum, as my center channel sits in a semi-enclosed space, and maybe that's the reason for the muddled sound, however I would not say that the CMC2 was really any improvement over the CC-190. There are still many times where the dialog is not clear. If you plan to have your CMC2 on the top of an open stand, then maybe everything will be perfect for you. I also spoke with some guys at a high end audio/video shop (who didn't sell B&W's), and they told me that there are several shows/movies that just have bad soundtracks and no matter what speaker I use, the dialog will be poor. With all of that being said, I kept the CMC2 because it matches my CM9's, which I really like, and I bought the CM5's for the rears. I use a Yamaha RX-A3000 (which has since been replaced by the RX-A3010) to power the speakers. Plenty enough power in my 10x18x15 open room. Because I didn't notice a large improvement with these, I lowered the "Value for Price" to a 3. My Paradigm was MUCH MUCH less than these, and they sounded the same. One thing the CMC2 has going for it is it's sexy looks. The glossy black looks great, and the speaker looks great with it's grill off.

I hate to say it but I purchased this speaker primarily for space considerations. I had recently bought a new 70" Sharp Aquos and stand and my old B&W CDM CNT wouldn't fit in the new stand. I was using 6 B&W CDM 1NT's for my surround sound set up and wanted to maintain the same tonal qualities. I have to say I'm glad I made the switch. Althought the old center channel was possibly a little more effecient, the new CMC2GB has much better mid range and mid bass along with the same tweeter. The transition across the frequency range is seamless. The nice folks at B&W also include 2 foam plugs for plugging the ports for less boominess and a tighter response especially if you're using a sub. I'm verry happy with this speaker so much that I'm thinking about getting the a pair of CM8 or CM9GB's to go with it. Great Speaker.

This center channel pairs perfectly with the CM9 floor speakers, I could not be any happier with this set up, it sounds fantastic and looks great at the same time, another great set of speakers from B&W and another happy customer!
