I've always wanted a pair of B&Ws and these entry level bookshelves do not disappoint! I have them set up as my main speakers using a Yamaha stereo amplifier (R-N500 for those who like model #s). The pairing works very well. In short, they sound great! Trebles and mids are clear and crisp. Bass is decent enough but you if you want more boom, you'll need a sub. They sound good at normal viewing or music levels and fantastic when you crank them up. They handle various genres very well, I truly recommend listening to Dark Side of the Moon with these bad boys. If you're on a budget but want a good entry level audiophile experience, get these puppies. I'm hooked to B&W because of them and you will too.

These speakers sound great. Requires a powerful amp, but hard to beat at this price point.

I am more pleased than expected. The range of solid sound without distortion is amazing. Sadly, I like my music too loud. Voice and instrumentation remain clear with deep resonance. The sound from these speakers fills the immediate room and wafts to other rooms. The audio remains pure.

I went to BB Magnolia to listen to Def-Tech Bookshelf speakers but couldn't believe the sound from these. It was better than any there. I sometimes turn off my Main Towers to just listen to these. Wife is happy now since I replaced my other huge speakers with these since I freed her up some floor space.

I auditioned these speakers against speakers that were higher in price. For the room I use these the dynamic and imaging are spot on. Bowers and Wilkins make some the best speakers and these entry level units are quite amazing at their price.

I tried these speakers after personally listening to them in my local Best Buy's Magnolia center and they blew me away. I currently only have them in a 2.1 set up but even with that the quality of sound is phenomenal. I would highly recommend these speakers to anyone.

These new speakers that I purchased have fantastic sound. I can clearly hear all tones and ranges. I went from a surround sound set up to one without, but let me tell you, with these speakers I can hardly tell that I no longer have the surround sound!

I bought a pair of these speakers for my front channel and I am EXTREMELY pleased with the sound! I have them hooked up to a Yamaha Aventage RX-2040 and WOW .... EXCELLENT and outstanding sound clarity

Too many people think you have to go with towers for a full sound. These bookshelfs offer fantastic sounds with a reasonable amount of base. The soundstage is a little narrow for a monitor speaker but they work well in a home theater setup.

I've had 4 pairs of B&W speakers, all 600 series. While there are numerous excellent speakers out there, B&W have always been some of the very best for the money. These new 685's are no exception.

The sound is so crisp from these speakers! I am just starting my higher end home theater system and was worried that starting with just two bookshelves was not going to cut it! These speakers have pleasantly surprised me!!! Will be getting more!

I tried sonos sound bar with wireless sonos speakers. But then replaced with b&w 600 series speakers and they are amazing. I am planning to buy big towers and will use them as rear speakers in home theater setup.

Upgraded to the 685 S2's for front speakers from older Paradigm Mini Monitors. First thing I noticed was the superior clarity of the B&W's. They also pair nicely with the B&W HTM 62 S2 center channel speaker.

I personally heard the speakers for the first time at a local Best Buy (enclosed speaker room.) I had the opportunity to listen to numerous brands, but the B & W's were my personal choice based upon listening experience, appearance, space-saving size, and price value. I later did online research and committed to purchasing them. Very pleased with the purchase.

Great sound from the B&W 685 S2 bookshelf speakers. Employed in a 2.1 stereo system. The subwoofer crossover is set at 80 or 100, still testing to find the best setting to enhance the bass for my taste. Placed on 25" tall speaker stands which has the tweeters at ear level in the room when sitting. Nice soundstage with clear, crisp highs and overall detail. Highly recommend for excellent sound at this price point.

Small footprint for book shelves, great sound for deep base. Great value

These speakers are a little more expensive than others that can be found, however the quality is amazing and worth every penny! We love them!!

These speakers explode with the pure sound and boom bass that any metal and rock music fan will appreciate without a subwoofer! Very pleased with the speakers, I purchased to listen to my cds and LPs. I've honestly never heard such pure crisp sound before. They were pricier than I would ever pay, but once I heard them I couldn't purchase anything less in quality or price.
