I installed these speakers in our family room, hooked up to our stereo and television/entertainment system. They sound awesome, simply awesome. Last year my in-laws downsized to a small condo and gave us their entire stereo system/entertainment center, which included two sets of very expensive, fairly large speakers. To truly test out these B&W bookshelf speakers, I unhooked those large expensive speakers and hooked up the B&W ones to compare. Both my husband and I agree that the B&W speakers sound better, at a fraction of the cost and at a fraction of the footprint. I really love the fact that we can get not only the same, but even better sound quality from these comparatively smaller speakers, at a comparatively smaller price. We will definitely be using these speakers as our primary ones from now on.

For the money spent there are better options. The Bass is essentially non existent and poor quality. The highs/mids are shouty and bright. Would probably work in a small room but don't audition them in a large size room, you will be disappointed. These love power so make sure you have a good amp

I'm not an audio expert, but these speakers blew me away. For me, the cable set up was a little tricky-- I'm use to optical or old-fashioned RCA cables-- but it was worth the effort to get these hooked up to my new amp. I have moderate hearing loss that causes dialogue to sound muddled at times, but this provided much-appreciated clarity without resorting to cranking up the volume. The size is perfect for a smaller room, but if you're filling a larger space, you might consider a larger set-up. I only have two small complaints: The fabric grills are removeable, but are held on with magnets which means the covers are easy to knock off while moving. Not a deal breaker by any means, but something to be aware of when setting up your system. The other minor fault is the lack of mounting capabilities for setting these up using speaker stands. Just setting them on the stand doesn't seem very secure, so I will probably keep these on my shelf to avoid any unfortunate accidents.

The sound from these speakers is more full and robust than the speakers they replaced. I have 110W pushing each channel and the sound in movies, games, and music is rich and immersive.
Bowers & Wilkins offer speaker stands crafted specifically for these, but I opted for universal speaker stands for now. Each speaker weighs about 20lbs, so you'll want something rated for that weight.
The speaker grills are magnetically attached and the speakers are steel gray which contrast nicely with the black casing if you opt not to use the grills.
All in all, these are a great purchase and will compliment any home theater nicely.
The bridge plate between LF/HF is preinstalled and the speaker terminals are well-made. The speakers are rear-ported and the set includes foam plugs and clear adhesive feet.

Outstanding bookshelf speakers. I’ve always wanted a pair of B&W speakers since my audiophile uncle introduced me to them as a teenager and the 607 s2 series do not disappoint. Aesthetically, the black ones look like any other bookshelf speaker with the grill on. The rugged bi-ampable rear connecting posts are about the only hint of something special with the speakers until you listen to them.
Powered with a Denon A/V receiver, they offer a nice wide soundstage for home theater use, but it’s music where these speakers really shine. Mounted on stands about 4’ high, 1’ away from the wall, and about 6’ apart, the 607’s offer open and airy high notes without sounding overly bright or shrill. The bass is smooth and musical with just enough presence to be heard without shaking the walls. If you’re using them in a bookshelf or closer to the wall, they come with foam plugs to tune the bass so they won’t sound too boomy. I didn’t bother using them because of my setup, but I’ll hold on to them in case I move them to a shelf. What’s remarkable about these speakers is how articulate the bass and vocals are. You can hear the detail of every note well with a nice midbass punch that’ll surprise you on some songs. I truly listen to every genre, so I put them through their paces with some Stevie Nicks, Yeezy, Weeknd, Daft Punk, White Stripes, Metallica, Otis Spann, Ariana Grande, etc.. They did a great job with them all, and I was impressed by how smooth they handled the vocals with Ariana and Nicks.
These handle loud music pretty well, but the detail starts to suffer a bit on the loud end when things get really busy, which is totally expected. They’re still pretty new, so I’m hoping this will improve once the speakers are fully broken in. It’s notable that no matter how high I turned them up, the tweeters never sounded overly bright or unbalanced, and I love how open and airy the soundstage seems. In a Dolby Digital 5.1 setup, they provide great clarity and imaging as the front main channels and would make exceptional full range surround speakers if you have the budget. If you want wall thumping goodness, definitely add a subwoofer, but for high fidelity music reproduction, I kind of like these on their own in stereo. These make good home theater speakers but I almost feel like they're under utilized in that manner. Music really makes them shine and if you're looking for a great sounding pair compact bookshelf speakers, definitely check out the B&W 607 s2 speakers.

This is my first experience with Bowers & Wilkins, but I am impressed. There is quality there. You can see it (and that they care) even in their packaging. Packed very well, with clear instructions on the best way to unbox the speakers. A nice touch. As for the speakers themselves, you can just feel it when you pick them up. Well built, and solid. They feel good in the hand. The connectors are, again, very solid, sturdy, and extremely high quality. The grilles are magnetic, work flawlessly, and look clean if you want to go that route. The speakers also have a clean and understated look which fit in well with my setup.
I first paired these with some Harman Kardon gear in a stereo setup, and then with a 2.1 just to get into some music. All over the place genre-wise. Jazz, rock, world, edm, hip hop, everything. It was a blast. You get so used to compression, streaming, bluetooth…etc...it was fun to let these loose and get into it. Mids were just on, with full, smooth highs, mild, with no distortion I could hear. Bass was, honestly, shocking for the size of these and it was clear, not muddled. Voices were distinct and vibrant, and the individual instruments were almost “isolated” if that makes sense. It was great to hear music as it was meant to be.
Next, I got my 5.1 system up, with these are the front channels. I really wanted to wait for Tenet and Nolan, but time was not with me there. Instead, I hit parts of Bladerunner, 1917, Saving Private Ryan and Inception (among others). Here, again, everything was vibrant and had such clarity. I love music, I am always listening, but in some ways, I live for movies…and gaining that extra bit of realism made a great impact. It absolutely enhanced my movie watching experience. It was quick, and easy to get totally immersed and lost in the worlds I was watching. I could not be happier.
I am by no means a trained audiophile, but I have been lucky enough to have some nice hardware over the years. These have to be at or near the top of anything I have been fortunate enough to experience. Great build, good looks, and wonderful performance…all from a quality brand with a good reputation. If they fit the need and/or space you are looking to fill, I think most would be happy to add these their setup.

I wish I could give the Bowers & Wilkins - 600 Series Anniversary Edition 2-way Bookshelf Speaker 10 stars!
I've been blown away the past month while using them. From listening to music, watching movies, and even YouTube videos. Everything just sounds amazing. Crystal clear details with consistent bass response makes these the most enjoyable experience I've ever had with a pair of bookshelf speakers.
I paired them with a 110 watt amp I had laying around. I did not bi wire them either, which would give them even more power.
Bower & Wilkins outdid themselves with these!

Very solidly built pieces of art. When Bi-Amp'd with a solid amplifier, the soundstage from these two bookshelf speakers is spectacular. As the speakers break in, the sound is getting better and more agile. Very well balanced tone that in my experience plays all genre's of music better than expected. These two little guys make me want to splurge for the floorstanders, Wonderfully relaxing and melts all my stresses away when playing. Looking forward to many good years with this pair.

I have owned countless mid- to high-end audio systems in the last 20+ years. Among those systems were a couple Bowers & Wilkins (B&W). B&W has been a mainstay in audio and is known to produce speakers that produce fantastic midrange. The B&W 607 S2 Anniversary Edition (AE) follows in a long time tradition of trickle down loudspeaker economics. Much of what makes up the 607 are lessons learned and technology shared from B&W's higher end lines. Make no mistake, while the 600 Series is considered the entry point to B&W loudspeakers that isn't to say they sound like entry level speakers.
The 607 S2 AE is the smallest bookshelf speaker in the 600 Series line. Upon unboxing one is met with a small, well-crafted speaker with exemplary fit-and-finish. The cabinet material is a pretty standard wrap, but that is expected at this price point and very well executed. Each speaker is fairly weighty for its size which indicates solid internal bracing and they do pass the 'rap' test. Knocking on top of the cabinets produces a non-resonant thump. Certainly doesn't sound like a hollow box. The 1" metal dome tweeter and 5" woven fiber "Continuum" cone look great and the tweeter has a non-removable metal grille over the top for protection.
I placed the speakers approximately 8' apart and 4' off the back wall to eliminate any prominent 'reinforcement' of the bass from reflections. I gave them about a 5 degree toe-in to improve imaging. I connected them to a Sony ZA5000ES receiver using BetterCables bi-wire cables. I broke them in with approximately 100 hours of pink noise.
I listened to a variety of music ranging from rock, rap, EDM, vocal, acoustic, and orchestral. I was immediately greeted with the characteristically warmer sound B&W speakers generally offer with fantastic midrange composition and imaging. I do not classify B&W speakers as a neutral speaker. If you are looking for something that provides minimal coloration of music then B&W may not be your cup of tea. That said, the sound that emanates from those very diminutive speakers is intoxicating. They offer a fantastic balance of bass and midrange coupled with a more subdued high frequency finish. They can provide incredible detail at low volumes, but are a tad more difficult to drive than my larger Martin Logan Motion 40i floor standers. They can play moderately loud, but cone breakup is a problem when pushed. The 5" cone simply gets overwhelmed if driven hard. At low to moderate volumes the cone coupled with the ported cabinet do a great job of providing a great foundation for bass. Not overwhelming so unless you back them closer to the rear wall, but you may create a boomy sound if one isn't careful. Imaging is pinpoint. I would say it is better than my MLs referenced above. Of course, the conventional metal dome tweeter and crossover network play a large role in that perceived difference. All music played sounded great and further proves why B&W has the great reputation it does.
My only real complaint regarding the 607 S2 is the lack of stand mounts. I have several sets of stands and all offer mounting points at the bottom to screw down the speaker for security. I do have kids in my house and bookshelf speakers have always been a gamble as kids will be kids. I would love to see B&W add a mounting point on the bottom of the speaker in the future.
If you are looking for either a small speaker set for a bedroom or office then put the Bowers & Wilkins 607 S2 Anniversary Edition on your shortlist. If you are interested in moving up to a more refined sound for music than what that home theater in a box can provide then give the 607 S2 AE an audition. They are a great sounding all around performer for smaller applications.

The Bowers and Wilkens 600 series is their entry level speaker but that doesn't mean that it is compromised. These are solidly built and sound quite impressive.
The combination of a 5" main driver with a Bowers designed decoupled tweeter offers a smooth transition from substantial bass all the way up to the top end. The flat response might take some getting used to but what that meant for me was a completely clean pallet that I could tune in to my personal taste. By applying some EQ from my AV amplifier I was able to easily dial in the perfect sound for my room. These speakers also include a two piece foam bung that you can use in the rear port to further tweak bass in the event that it gets to "boomy" for your space.
My only quibble with these speakers is that the magnets securing the grilles are very weak and they can easily become dislodged. BTW - make sure that you give these some break-in time after you install them. I could actually hear them open up over the course of the first week's listening.
I am so impressed with the sonic fidelity of these that I intend to use them as monitors in my studio. But for now they will stay in my living room for listening to holiday music!
Definitely worth a listen!

These are the best speakers ever!! I have many friends come over and just sit and stare at them while they play... I can hear a lil difference with the anniversary version, the highs are more clear which I didn't think was possible. My father and I use to listen to them when I was younger and think wow!! They were always too expensive for him to buy. So I bought them when he passed away to remind me of him. The "anniversary" addition only makes it more rememberable... Love you Dad.
