Detailed sound with a great soundstage. Surprisingly low bass extension. Need a lot of power amplification to open these up so I currently have them bi amped running about 250 watts to each. Placement is critical so play with the toe in and closeness to the wall when trying to find the best sound. I’ve found that placing them against the wall without toe in gives me the best treble response and bass response too. These will give you a nice and balanced sound. Good for classical music or music with a lot of vocals. Not the best for electronic, rap. Look to Klipsch if you want something with a rock, live sound. Look to def tech if you want more bass. I listened to both klipsch and def tech and thought the B&W were the most neutral and had the best soundstage.

These speakers sounded good in the store but they sound great in my house. The highs are crystal clear as well as the mids and bass. They sound great at any volume. And they look as good as they sound. Worth every penny.

Not much to say except these speakers complete my home theatre set up and are amazing. The clarity is superb, the mids and highs are balanced. Not very punchy but I'd take the crisp clarity any day. My sub is for punchy. Would def buy if on sale, BB a little greedy with their mark up on Magnolia products. Former Mag associate.

Excellent sound, these speakers can take a lot of volume without any distortion. If your looking for loud speakers with great highs and lows and strong bass.

This covers their use for music; I'm not a movie buff so won't try to review that. This is a fine pair of speakers. I've listened to a variety of music (primarily classical and hard rock) and really can't find a lot to fault them on. But you do want to make sure your system is properly set up. These are combined with a B&W ASW610 sub (also reviewed), which I find to be helpful for material with strong low bass content (organ, such as Saint-Saens's Organ symphony, or Alejandra Villarreal's bass work with The Warning). I'm using a Marantz SR5014 receiver. I followed the Marantz calibration process with all of the speakers. The overall sound is very clean, when the receiver is set up correctly (which in my case meant setting it to use the subwoofer for all content, and put it in pass-through mode rather than any processing). Trying to listen to music with the receiver or other amplifier in a surround setting is frustrating and will not give you a good indication of the quality of these speakers (it's usually in that mode because my spouse watches mostly movies and wants the surround).

I upgraded from the Klipsch R820's to the B&W 603 and the difference is incredible. The whole spectrum of the soundstage is much more even and robust. The mid-range is crystal clear and CLEAN! With the Klipsch's Id have to make Treb / bass adjustments between styles of music and from song to song, I no longer have to make the adjustments. (within reason) I wasnt crazy about the jump in price between the two brands and was hesitant to make the move but now that I've heard first hand the quality of the sound, it was well worth it. Receiver is Marantz SR1503.

I’ve had my eyes on the the B&W 600 series for a while now. Finally picked them up and absolutely loving them! I am not using the proper receiver as I am waiting for the new line of pioneer elites to drop this summer. But for now they’re up and running and sounds amazing. I can only image how much better they’re going to sound once the proper receiver is pushing these bad boys

To start these speakers are amazing. Bowers and Wilkins are amazing speaker manufacturers, while also a name a lot of people don't know. Most Best Buy's will sell you definitive technology because of the price point but for a little more you can have real quality in my opinion. The sound stage is amazing, mid-range and tweeter are awesome, makes these great for movies and music. I'd recommend these to anyone. Hook them up to a nice receiver or amplifier and go wild.

These speakers are really superb. Powerful, yet very tuneful bass. A very spacious and transparent soundstage that draws you into the music. Mids that are very clean and lifelike and treble that is not harsh. Overall,a very well-balanced speaker. Highly recommended!

These speakers sound wonderful. Vocals and other midrange sounds come through with a crispness and accuracy in which I'm not accustomed from my prior old Bose 321 system. Bass is tight and rich, but needs a little more punch depending on your preferences. They could certainly be used without a subwoofer and are still great, but I am planning to add a sub.

Excellent sound quality. More focus on vocal clarity, however, the bass produced by these speakers without a subwoofer is ample for all music and movie lovers alike. I use these with a record player and my television and love the sound produced through both.

Simply great. Excellent balance, even tonality that doesn’t lean too strong in any direction. Sleek and well constructed - these are unobtrusive and minimalist. Require a lot of power to really sing.

Using these as my fronts in my home theater for movies and music. I’m pushing these with my Yamaha aventage receiver and paired them with the B&W center channel, surrounds and sub. The sound scape produced by this setup in my small room is nothing short of amazing. They were considerably more expensive than other brands but in my opinion well worth it. They look awesome in my room! I was so impressed with the sound when listening to music that I purchased another pair just for my office 2 channel system. Even my 60 year old ears could hear the difference in the sound produced by these speakers. For music or movies you won’t be disappointed!

I hadn't purchased a complete stereo system in over 30 years. I did a lot of research to find the best system in my price range. I was able to listen to the Bowers Wilkins 603 S2's in the showroom. I was not familiar with the maker. I went home and did some more research and found out that BW were highly rated. I went back and purchased a pair of the BW 603 S2's, a pair of the 606 S2's, the 700 series center channel along with the 8in sub woofer. I've spent the last few weekends listening to my collection of music and movies. These speakers have given my collection new life and has reignited my passion for music. I'm good for the next 30 years.

Originally had Klipsch tower speakers 8" woofers as front speakers and other brand center channel and MB Quartz ( over 10 years old ) as rear speakers but I recently purchased the Sony Bravia 85" 950 UHD 4K tv so now I have balanced sound system with Two B&W 600 series front channel , B&W 600 center and B&W 10" sub woofer with the Klipsch tower speakers as surround speakers all running through my Marantz 7007 4k ready receiver for an awesome sounding theatre system . Totally happy !

I’ve had these for 6 months now in a small room so I don’t know how they’ll sound in a larger space . To date they are the most expensive speakers I’ve owned but in this case i think you get what you pay for. I noticed while listening to music i hear subtle nuisances I’ve never heard before as well as a much larger sound field . I bought these to bi wire them it was kind of hard to tell if they sound that much better in that configuration. I’ve added the b&w 606 book shelf pair and the small center for home theater Listening .

Had recently purchased a Pioneer Elite AV Receiver and have always wanted B&W speakers for its clarity since I listen to all types of music. This entry level B&W tower speakers and its bookshelf speaker doesn't disappoint. I was able to clearly differentiate the highs, mids and lows. The lows isn't as low as I would hope but its nothing that a separate subwoofer can't pick up. Definitely happy with this purchase.
