Great sound, but uncomfortable after prolonged use

I really wanted to like the headphones, but ended up using them for roughly a week before returning them to Best Buy. The sound replication was fantastic on these headphones, but this alone, was not enough to overcome the uncomfort after an extended period of use. Much of this probably has to do with the fact that I wore glasses with use of the headphones (ie. on my commute to work or at my desk at work in from on the computer).

The Bowers & Wilkins - P3 is one of the best over the ear headphones I've heard.

I am the B&W floor standing monitors (CM9s and CM10s) user and fan for many years now. I know and understand that that B&W make weaker product when it comes to headphones. I currently own P5s and bunch of Bose QSs. When you compare B&W against Bose, B&Ws 20K can't beat 22K. I realize that BW's mid range adds some fluff, but the overall (studio) sound is not as good as you may expect from a high-end OEM like B&W

Although these headphones are not advertised as external sound blocking, about 97% of the surrounding sound is blocked out. I'm amazed at the quality of the sound – how warm it is. Even cr@ppy, compressed iTunes songs sound pretty good with us. Older, analog or remastered music sounds amazing. Excellent Quality for the price.

The audio range is reproduced brilliantly with these headphones. It truly surprised me to hear this quality from this $200 price point. You will not be dissapointed!

The wearing is not as comfortable as my Senheiser HD600 especially if you wear eyeglasses.
It is good for pop and rock music. But sometimes you feel muffle sound. It is warm and very warm indeed.
I bought this because:
1. I have 200 bucks best buy rewards is going to expire soon. I don't want to add more money to buy anything.
2. I need a headphone for my iPhone and Fiio DAP without using portable AMP.

Not Over Ear Design - Low Volume

I bought these for traveling and to use in my office. I had the Beats Pro, loved the sound and volume but they were too big for travel. I am using these for the first time as I write this about 45 minutes into a flight to Atlanta. Right away I was concerned about the design as they are "on ear", not over ear. I can hear everything going on around me, all announcements, crying kids etc and the volume is all the way up (with no limiting settings)..
As for comfort, sound other than volume, they are quite nice....I cannot tell I have a band over my head and I am bald....nice compared to the heavy, clunky feel of the Beats.
I will be returning these and upgrading to a pair of the (more expensive) over the ear models from B & W.....I just hope I can get better volume out of them, but maybe have the cups truly over the ear will increase that as well.

Mini P5

The P3 is a nice alternative to the P5. It does not buffer out external noise as well but it is more comfortable and sounds nearly as good. I am not an audiophile but I was happy with the rich and full range of sound coming from these cans. They are very comfortable to wear, even with eyeglasses. I do have a few complaints. The biggest one is the remote which I am dinging comfort for. It is difficult to tell by touch where to press b/c it is cylindrical AND even when you get a hold of the button, it is very difficult to click b/c the other side is round so trying to double and triple click is painful and inconsistent. Another is the carrying case. It is a cheap clamshell case like those that come with eyeglasses. The inner felt lining will eventually crack at the hinge over time. And lastly, for this price range, I would expect one combined cord instead of a cord coming out each side but perhaps this allows them to fold so I would prefer the latter if I had to choose.

Best Headphones for Travel / Work

I'm going to make this quick. If you are looking for headphones that you intend to use at work, while commuting, etc. that also offer amazing natural sound, get these. I'm not going to bash any other brands of headphones here, but I will say that for the purpose of having warm, comfortable sound reproduction on-the-go, these are perfect. The design is incredible. The acoustic cloth really let's the sound pas through untainted, while the sheer lack of weight makes you wonder whether or not you're wearing anything. The case is hard, so it'll protect the cans if you throw em around in a bad or your car and, while the cable is thin, it has a lot of integrity and strength.
I bought these for the purpose of having high-quality headphones that produce perfect sound on-the-go and at work -- they truly deliver.

I have been comparing the P5 and P3. The Magnolia guys actually let me try both for a week as they had an open box. The P5 which has leather materials is luxurious but a little heavier and hot on the ears after a while. The P5 has just as amazing sound.
For me, it came down to P3's portability. They can be easily folded into a hard case. They are lighter and for me the sound was brighter as was the base. The P5 has a muted bass which could be from the leather as compared to cloth on P3.
Both great headphones given they are Bowers and Wilkins and you can't really go wrong with their products.
For $200 for a B&W means it leaves the competition in the dust. Beats, Bose, Sennheiser got nothing on these.

Bought these for work travel, fold up, fit in briefcase, great sound. Have used them less than a dozen times and the volume control on the cord broke, part of the plastic cover came off. Can't snap it back on, used some tape, but for $200, should last more than just a few uses, and I'm pretty careful with my hardware, so no extreme use of any kind, don't use them when I am not traveling. The control is very small and thin, should have been concerned about it when I first checked them out, will make sure to pay closer attention with the next pair I buy. Can't recommend them due to this issue.

I had originally bought the Bose AE2 head phones and just could not get over the fact that my much cheaper Sennhesier headphones sounded as good or even better than the AE2. So I took them back and went into the Magnolia section and listened to the B&W P3 and P5s. While I liked the P5s I just felt they were not $100 better in sound. The only real thing I found to dislike on the P3 is the midrange is a little pronounced. Other than that I like the size, weight and cost of the P3s over the P5s.
After listening to the P3s for a few hours I am hearing them opening up more and the midrange isn’t as pronounced. Plus the music choice is a key factor. I am looking forward to getting a NuForce Icon uDAC-2 and some really good music to hear how much these open up.
I honestly cannot see how someone could be disappointed with these head phones. I am amazed out how much sound these isolate for not being isolating headphones.

I really like the way these headphones sounded. Theres plenty of bass but the high notes are still as crisp and clean as they should be. However, they were unbearably uncomfortable. I couldn't wear them for more than half an hour without being in major discomfort. Additionally, the cord was thin and fragile, and eventually broke.

Got the Dre Beats, returned them in one day, got the B&W's, love 'em. I use these when I walk the dogs in the morning and occasionally when I'm on the computer at home. I feel a little goofy walking around with something the size of Dre Beats on my head. These are way less obnoxious. Plus, the sound quality on the Beats was awful. These sound great.
