Outstanding headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this open box for 1/2 price, and could not be happier. With the recent fad in non-earbud headphones, I would say these are phenomenal compared to the competition. They have a refined sound that far surpasses the most trendy and overpriced headphones that everyone is so fond of (Beats), but the quality of the sound will depend on where you place these. That doesn't sound too difficult, but given that they do not completely swallow your ears, there can be a good deal of variance in positioning and therefore the sound. I compared these to the P5's, and actually preferred the overall sound of these for all types of music. I thought they were a more "complete" (generally-applicable) headphone than the more expensive ones. For what these are, they are tough to beat for the price. The cords look relatively cheap and could be more durable and better shielded. I did buy a pair of Audio-Technica ATH-M50s, which I think are a bit better (after break-in), but they are a completely different and more cumbersome headphone.
