I have heard of how great this group was so I took a chance on getting their first album. I was pleasantly surprised by the level of musicianship and the soulful voice of the lead singer. They sound to me like an updated and more polished version of Big Brother with Janis Joplin. I'm going to look for more music from them; they live up to the hype!

This woman has all the soul. If you look around and wonder where all the soul went, she has it. Her music speaks to every molecule of me and I lament the times in my life I've needed this band and didn't have it.

When I saw Alabama Shakes on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon I knew I had to hear more from this new group. I am so glad best buy had it in stock! Great Sound.

Love these guys, they are young but with hearts, and music, of some of the music legends. Lead vocals remind of a cross between Janis & Billie, hard to believe she is so young. Music is full, funky with the heart of the blues, but fresh not same ole' same ole'. Keep in my car CD player and also bring into work to share w/co-workers who also love this. A dear friend was driving back to DC after a family member illness and I gave it to them for the journey back

As a debut album, this certainly doesn't disappoint. From start to finish, regardless of your musical tastes, you can appreciate Alabama Shakes and their daring ability to incorporate various musical styles into an album that makes you want to hear more. In two words....simply awesome!

I bought this with another item while standing in the store because I could not find the other item. When I came back to pick them up, the other item (the one I could not find) was pulled successfully, but they did not pull this one. However, I was able to take it up to the counter, and the CSR there was able to finalize the order with this on there and got me through the process very quickly.

The lead singer has a fantastic voice! The songs are really nice!

Hadn't really heard of the band, but caught the singer on a Memphis Soul special on PBS. Decided to check out the band. They are really good. I like every song on the CD.

This is a great record! They are now one of my favorite newer bands. Retro rock n' roll sound with a ton of soul. Love it.

Definitely not being recognized the way all this main stream rap and pop is. Radio stations need to play a lot more of this and other upcoming artist not the same stuff. Its refreshing to hear this style come back.
