Not well designed - has issues

Poorly designed user experience: The display is upside down! The designer of the device apparently thinks that 12V cig lighter port would be to the left of the driver. But unless you are in the UK or Hong Kong, 12V ports are to the right of the driver. So when the device is plugged in, you have to read the display upside down. See attached picture. Poor quality output. The levels coming from the device are considerably less than say, the nearby radio stations on the dial would be. So if you change away from the FM transmitter to a regular station, be prepare to be blasted out of your seat. Low charging output. The trend of including two USB ports on 12V chargers even though the combined amperage is only 2A is also just stupid. An iPhone needs 2Amps to charge. So what is the purpose of the second port if it can't supply the juice? Oh, and one other thing, the display LED started failing about 6 months after I got the unit. It doesn't display the first digit of any 3 digit radio station frequency. Of course, I know that the first digit will either be 1 or nothing, but still, I assume that the rest of the LED indicators will fail soon. All in all, these is just a cheap, poorly made Chinese product. P.S. If you think the station I've got the device tuned to is 85.0, you would be wrong. It's set to 105.8.

      Thank you for your review.
You can turn the FM Transmitter around, allowing you to have the display facing up. For best sound, we recommend turning the volume up on your device and then matching the sound on your radio, this will help when you switch over to normal radio. If you charge one device, it will charge your smartphone. Otherwise, you can charge two devices, it will just be at a slower pace. We offer a great warranty on our products. Please feel free to contact tech@bracketron.com, one of our representatives would be happy to help you with a replacement.

I needed a different option to listen to music from my phone in my old car apart from a hard wired connection through those old cassette tape adapters or the strange hybrid of a blutooth cassette adapter that needed to be charged ever other day to use...so I took a chance on this and apart from the occasional fuzzy signal due to tunnels and airports, it's exactly what I needed. It has a mic built in which I've tried a few times but have been told it can sound a little muffled. And if I wanted to hook up my old iPod or mp3 player (for whatever reason) which don't have a blutooth adapter built in, the device has an option to hardwire it in with a 3.5mm cable included. All in all, no regrets on this purchase.

I purchased the Bluetooth FM transmitter after owning one that was previously not Bluetooth enabled. My expectations were super low, especially since I have a 2006 vehicle. The connection was super easy, using my phone's Bluetooth and syncing the FM radio station with the transmitter. I couldn't have been more pleased with the sound and the overall outcome of the product's functionality. Once connected I truly had handsfree phone capability. I was able to make and take phone calls, listen my Pandora and YouTube music. The quality was great and I feel that this FM transmitter was a definite upgrade for me. I'm glad that I made this purchase.

This transmitter has good sound quality. My husband and I fumbled a bit initially getting it set up, but was smooth sailing from there. The pivoting function reduces the number of plug ins and pull outs of the transmitter from the adapter. Design looks sleek as well. Some frequencies were hard to maintain even though no local broadcast was located on that channel, some station tuning to get the music stable may be needed. Overall 4 ☆☆☆☆

The converter works pretty good with both BlueTooth and hardwired (headphone jack). My car only has an AM/FM receiver and a CD player so I couldn't use a cassette adapter to play music from my iPod (2nd gen). This device is a low cost solution but doesn't sound as crisp and clear as true 'hardwired' solution like a direct cable or cassette adapter. If you're looking for a low cost solution this adapter will meet that need along with more connection options.

This has proved to be very disappointing. It is difficult to stay connected to the phone (and only works with one phone at a time), keeps popping out from the convenience outlet, and provides very low level of power to the USB outlet. It is better than nothing, but the old Jabra and other systems worked much better. (Ours got old and worn out after five years, so we had to replace it.)

Thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear about your FM Transmitter. Unfortunately, you can only have one phone connected at a time. As for the low level of power ,each USB port is a 1.0 AMP output. However, if you charge one device, it will charge at 2.1 AMP output. Please feel free to contact tech@bracketron.com, if you have any questions.

I first bought a more expensive brand and took it back b/c it was six hookup instead of wireless and just overall wasn’t what I expected out of the brand it was and the price I paid. When the associate helped me locate this one, I was skeptical, but I’ve had it for a little over a month maybe and it’s exactly what I wanted! It’s a great size, wireless, and even the talk free works to my expectations.

Bought it open-boxed ($10 cheaper). No problems. Let’s me play my music from my phone like intended but the sound isn’t as powerful/loud as my actual car stereo plays music even with my phone volume and car volume at max. Probably loud enough for most people though. I just like to listen to my music really loud sometimes, especially on noisy highways. But still happy with it for now until I upgrade my stereo.

I recently drove to Dallas and back. Wanting to hear an audiobook through my radio, I went to Best Buy and bought a Bracketron - Roadtripper Car Audio Bluetooth FM Transmitter for $29.99. After calling my son from the parking lot, he helped me install it and get it working. A bonus is the capability to talk on the iPhone through my speaker system. Excellent!

Device is very good for streaming music from phone and very easy to install/setup. Unfortunately I was looking for a music and phone solution and it was not usable for phone calls with significant delays and echoing so I returned it. I guess I was asking to much of a $30 product. However I would recommend it if all you need is music streaming.

This product is a poorly executed idea. Far too much distortion when streaming audio through my car radio. I followed the instructions inside the user manuel and could not fix the issues. The 35mm male to male jack is subpar as well leaving no alternatives but to return the product less than 15 minutes after purchasing it.

I would recommend this to anyone with out a jack to plug Into. Some of have older vehicles. I would like to see better markings on the controls. Perhaps a backlight on the dial. Price is Right. Size and color work well and the flexible head is handy. All in all, until I purchase a new vehicle this is the only alternative short of a month stock radio.

Works well if you can find a radio station, some stations the broadband tries to cut it out. Not recommended for a long road trips where there is no radio waves. Has great sound through the system and a lot less expensive than a brand new car stereo system. And a lot nicer than the ones that go into a tape deck! gg

The Bluetooth works beautifully. The cord worked, and then didn't, but what do I need that for? (The faulty cord is the only reason I give this four stars.) It's wonderful to listen to my own music, commercial-free, in my car, anytime, anywhere. We've had three different types of products to run music through the car radio; this is the best so far.

If the FM radio is absolutely the only way to get into your stereo, this is a pretty good product. With any of these devices you will get static, it is only a radio. More transmitter strength might really help. It is probabily worth the $100 to put in a new radio with it own input, instead of buying this device.

Had many different varieties of BT to FM over the years. And this one is far superior given it’s small size. Buttons require a bit of fiddling but once dialed in, sound quality is terrific. Nothing will beat a direct wire or modern USB integration. But this is close.

I've purchased cheaper options from another online retailer with more features and less issues staying connected. It was the only option in store. I wish I would've just waited. It was fine for a short time but began to not maintain connection with any of my devices. Skip it.

Power will not stay on while plugged into cigarette slot. I tried all three I have in my truck. I cleaned the slots but still won’t stay on. I’m gonna still give them a chance because their no hassle customer service is impressive. They are sending a new one to me. We will see if it works.

Does just what it's supposed to do. My 15 year old car now plays music from my phone via Bluetooth. Set up was very simple. I was up and running in about a minute. Only complaint would be it's plays a tad in the quiet side. Even with my phone volume on full, I need to turn my car speakers pretty loud.

It works provided you don't try to overdo it by charging 2 smartphones and play music at the time. Siri worked for me too. I will assume competing smart assistants work too. If you don't have a smart radio system in your car, this will do the trick. In my area 88.1 was a good station for listening.
