Perfect for travel. Beats all the phone holders I've used in the past. Big selling points for me are small size, easy of use, well built, and capable of holding my Samsung Note 8 without difficulty. It's takes up very little space in my back pack and that means the TripGrip is always with me. So far the device has worked on all the rental cars I've had since purchasing it. I like it so well that I've been recommending to family and friends.

I've used a holder that mounts on your windshield through a suction cup. It worked fine...when the suction cup held. After a while, the dirt on the windshield or the cup weakened the suction, especially when the weather turned cold. This design has a small clip that goes over a vane in your AC duct in the dash panel. The holder mounts on that (and does't have to be taken off). I was leery about what this might do to the vane, but see no effect. The two padded sides of the holder are squeezed together by hand to lock your phone in place. These sides release quickly when you press a button. The only concern you should have is whether the positioning on a vent, within reach of your touch while driving, will give you a good view of the screen without interfering with your access to car controls.

While visiting our son we noticed he had this on his vehicle. He said he did lots of research before making the purchase. We are very pleased with it and bought them for both cars. Thanks!

I've been using a suction type holder for my phone on my dashboard. Every time it gets hot and dry the phone falls off, usually while I'm driving. I've not been impressed by Vent clamp type holders, most are cheaply made and also fall. I've been using this one for a month and it hasn't failed me. Fits well and I can see the phone easily. Didn't drop the phone as I drove thru potholes. Excellent device.

Makes using Maps a snap. Nice having phone at fingertips and secure. Made sturdy for price. Like that it is adjustable for phone fit. Easy to change location of base(from vent to vent.

Bought this for my teenage son as a new driver. The car he will be driving does not have navigation, so want him to have something safe to use for Waze app. Fits the bill perfectly!

This has been easy to install and very convenient. I have an iphone plus and it accommodates the large size easily. I have had it for a month now and use it often with no problems

The Bracketron - TripGrip Mobile Phone Holder mounts to your dashboard air vents. The unit actually comes in two pieces that snap together - the vent mount piece and the cell phone cradle piece. What I particularly like about this design is the drop-down leg on the vent-mount part - it provides an angle-brace that supports the weight of the whole unit, including the cell phone. This makes it much more secure than my previous vent-grip-only mounts, and less likely to detach on a bumpy road. I also like the bottom support for the cell phone itself - this is not the same as the angle brace I just mentioned, rather, the bottom of the phone sits on two flat prongs that fold out at the bottom of the cradle, so the phone is not just held by friction from the side grips. The prongs are about an inch apart, so there is plenty of room for a bottom-mounted power cable (absolute necessity when using map/GPS programs like Waze). I've used this holder on several long trips and it has been rock solid.

This holder has worked well for me so far. I've used it for a couple of weeks with the only problem being that the clip to the vent slipped off, but it's easy to get it back into place. I like that you can change the position of the holder to make it easy to see the screen either for the passenger or from the driver's vantage point. This holder can accommodate many widths of phones. It holds my iPhone 7, in an Otterbox case, very securely.

I really am happy with my Trip grip phone holder. Makes it easy to use my phone gps. Locks it in and releases easy when the ride is done. Recommend this product to everyone.

Has been one of the very few phone holders for the car that has lasted. With the tightness adjustment, it does not droop at all with any bumps. The ease of release and attachment of the cellphone to the device is incredibly convenient. The only downfall is during winter and having the heat on, the phone will get extremely warm.

Installed in less than 1 minute before leaving parking lot. Better than mounting something to the dash. Not easy to place/retrieve phone with one hand, since you have to move the grips while also holding the phone in place. Very secure once in place.

I was out of town in a rental car that had no GPS and I needed to mount my smartphone on the dash somewhere so I could use Waze to find my way around. Assembly was very easy and it mounted in the vent louvres securely. It fit my giant iPhone with no trouble, and it was easy to place and remove it. I'm happy with my purchase and the super friendly guy who checked me out.

This vent mount is easy to install and sturdy but is too bulky for my liking.
