I like so much my speaker the sound is great and the battery long last for real. And the power of the sound is great

This is a quality product better than most for portability and definitely fun to show off. However it was several pounds heavier than the Superstar monster blaster boom box which also outperform ed the braven side by side with clearer top treble and deeper bass. Sorry to say Braven had to go back.

This unit kicks out some serious sound but it weighs about 20 pounds! However a lot of the weight is the battery which provides about 10+ hours with the volume at about 80%. Bass is pretty good even at higher volumes. I purchased on sale for $165 which is a great deal. At retail price ($300) it's overpriced. There are better offerings in that price.

The Braven XXL Bluetooth speaker delivers great sound. It's big and pretty heavy, so for portability it's not so great even with the included carrying strap. Battery lasts a good average of 10 hours depending on how loud you use it. Bass is great, best I have heard from a Bluetooth speaker, but mids are lacking a bit. So its on the brighter side of sound. On the good side, there's no noticeable distortion, except if you crank the bass on high. Oh yeah, it has a built in EQ for bass and treble. It has NFC for easy and quick pairing, which works well. With my devices, it connects to the last one I used as soon as the unit itself turns on. Like, instantly. It also has a built in MIC input and AUX input. So far, only complaint may be with sound starts cutting off at around 15 - 20 feet of walking away from the speaker with your connected device. But I guess it makes up for it being splash proof, and the build quality. Its built like a tank. It has some rubber on some areas. Most of the speaker is hard plastic and screwed on metal speaker grilles. There's 4 drivers, 2 front plus 2 in the back, for your sound. With one woofer and 2 radiators on the bottom for bass. Sound is really good either indoors or outdoors. Despite how big and heavy this speaker is, I always end up taking this one with me to work from all of the different Bluetooth speakers in the house. I recommend this speaker highly based mostly on the build quality. Other speakers in this price may sound better to some or look better even, but probably won't take a beating like this one.

The BRV-XXL is a substantial speaker with drivers on either side of the handle. It has internal batteries so you can play your music without a power plug close by and provides up to 500 mA of power for charging a cell phone or other device. The BRV-XXL supports NFC or traditional bluetooth pairing and has a small rubberized shelf with a small lip to keep your cell phone in place during use. Beside Bluetooth connectivity, you can use an input from a 1/8" stereo cable (not included) or an external microphone. Sound quality is extremely good. It passed all of my sound quality benchmarks ("Toccata" from Manheim Steamroller's "Fresh Aire III", "Beethoven's 9th" by Maazel, "Beautiful People" by Marilyn Manson, Bach's "Toccata and fugue in D minor" by Peter Hurford, "Death of a bachelor" by Panic! at the Disc, Brubeck's "Take Five" and Vivaldi's "Four Seasons, third movement". Ordinarily, a lot of speakers color the music to sound good with only some kinds of music, or have cheap speakers and an internal amplifier that distorts badly as volume increases. I played my benchmark music at a variety of levels and was quite pleased with the results. If you need to adjust the sound to your preferences, there are a set of controls for adjusting bass, treble and volume as well as a handy, dandy shoulder strap with an included bottle opener. Since the unit is rather hefty, the shoulder strap is a must. The speaker came with three additional power cables for non-USA use as well.

This thing has some really big sound, especially outdoors. I'm a little biased because for bass quality nothing beats the old JVC Kaboom box, but it had no bluetooth. The sound quality of the Braven XXL is right in the neighborhood and it's a smaller package. The Braven is a bit on the heavy side, but it plays forever on a charge. It makes a TON of bass, even more when you set it on a solid surface and not carpet. If you're running a Macbook, here' s a tip. You will get twice as good sound quality if you install the Boom2 app and adjust the equalizer a bit. With about 10 minutes of adjusting the EQ you can enhance the sound of the Braven SIGNIFICANTLY. You can enhance the midrange of this speaker significantly with the EQ and practically double the bass output with minimal distortion. You MUST try this if you have a Mac.

This speaker can get Loud! The bass is incredible. As stated in the specs and other reviews, it is heavy so don't plan on carrying it for a long time. Great for backyard, patio, picnic or beach parties. I would give 5 stars but battery life is lacking. It states 14hrs but I have been getting around 11hrs. Not a problem if you have a plug nearby! I keep mine in my truck (we do a lot of car camping) and use a small inverter to charge it. It blows my factory car stereo away!

This is by far and away the baddest Bluetooth speaker I have ever encountered in terms of volume and bass resonance. I mean this thing is ridiculous. I would have given it 5 stars but it weighs enough to do dead lifts with, and the controls are lacking a bit and it looks like something you would find in a prison cell. Battery life is pretty good, and did I mention this thing is so ridiculously loud?

Got this for my fiancé and he loves it! Great sound with plenty of bass! Comes with a strap to carry and a bottle opener attached. Wasn't sure about this because I never herd of the brand before but glad I got it. It's blu tooth so we can connect our phones and even charge from it. The battery last a long time so it's perfect for out door parties. Only reason I rated it 4/5 stars is because it is heavy.

This speaker is Very good the best I heard of all the ones out there. The sound and Base are very strong and Powerful and fills My back yard by the pool with music. This speaker is well with the money and built like a Tank. The Weight is 16 pounds not for 98pound weaklings.

Awesome speaker! Super loud, legit 14 hour battery life. Use it by the pool and by the lake! If you need something loud and durable, this is it! It does weigh about 20 lbs, but comes with a nice shoulder strap and built-in handle. Great buy, especially if you can get it on sale!

I purchased this for my son. This speaker is amazing, great acoustics at all volumes. The only negative is the weight but I still give 5 stars because compared to other speakers in its class it is still portable.

This is a speaker that can take some abuse. It bounced around in my boat and UTV all summer, and still looks and sounds great. We jammed it for 8+ hrs on full volume and still had battery left for the next day !

Brought this badboy for xmas, and the sound is crazy awesome. Amazing Bass and the battery life is good. Good for indoor and outdoor. Only negative is the weight but besides that 5/5

Buy this and you won't be disappointed! I bought another speaker before this one and i was not satisfied with it. So I read some reviews on this braven XXL and it did not disappoint me. It has plenty of bass and clear hi's and med's. There is very little distortion even on 100% volume. It is extremely loud and the volume carries for quite the distance. I use it inside my home but the speaker is designed for outside use.

This speaker is amazing. The sound is great with clear highs and great punchy lows. Recently took this guy to a community pool and it was holding its own against the larger block style speakers. It was great we were able to enjoy our music without having to listen to our neighbors. We used the speaker for about 7 hours straight which some of that was 100% volume and I still have about 50% battery left. Overall a great speaker with more options than most like bass and treble adjustments on the speaker. I definitely recommend if you are looking for an outdoor speaker.

This unit is solid and sounds great! The Bluetooth is a little different to detect on your devices but I operate with phone or tablet and can be about 60ft away for a good connection. Once it's charged you can really go for hours, I've had playing for a solid 10 hours without re-charging. Great product.

Amazing. Great sound, long battery. Water resistant is nice too. Gets a little heavy to carry after awhile.

Has many important features. Built tough. The best I've found for the price. It's a little heavy at 18 lbs. Cannot sync two boomboxes together, but the great sound and good volume make up for that. Can play two boomboxes by using the aux. inputs and buying additional cables. I have already recommended this to friends and relatives. I haven't found a way to update the device if there is one.

Great sound, very durable. But the range wasn't there and it was pretty heavy.
