It's a party brawler akin to smash that supports 4 player local multiplayer. Worth it if you have friends who can play and enjoy the technical aspects of fighting games. Not too much content overall, however, and the unlock mechanics for additional content are weak. Probably worth the price if you can play it with a few friends every now and then. Once smash comes out this game will be forgettable.

I consider this game to be a poor man’s version of Smash Bros. The only reason I bought this game at the time was because there were no other fighting games on Switch like Smash Bros at that time. My favorite part of this game were the guest characters from the games Hyper Light Drifter, Yooka-Laylee and Guacamelee. Unfortunately, that’s about where the praise stops. The moves are limited, I experienced lag pretty frequently and the original characters were pretty forgettable. This could be a great game franchise if they really polished the game and marketed it as the Indie version of Smash Bros bringing in a slew of well known indie characters. I would have loved to have seen characters from Hollow Knight, Undertale, Shantae, Shovel Knight and Celeste to name a few.

This is a really fun and polished platform fighter. I really enjoyed my time with it and honestly it's a game that everyone should play...except that Smash Bros exists. That's really the only reason I knocked a star off too. The game is great, but there's very little reason to buy this with Smash Bros on the market. Now, to be fair I'm rating this 4 stars because I'm reviewing the Switch version specifically, however, I'd give the PS4 or XB1 versions 5 star ratings since there's nothing as monstrous as Smash Bros on those platforms. Still a fantastic game, but if you have Smash Bros then there's really no need to pick this up unless you REALLY love platform fighters.

Brawlout is a neat platform fighter and differentiates itself from Smash Bros. fairly well with different gameplay logic. I want to recommend this game, but Brawlout has atrocious load times and the unlock system seems more like extreme padding, so I can't. It's funny, because I do want to play lots of matches, but with the long load screens and time consuming unlockables, Brawlout kinda shoots itself in the foot.

It isn't super smash brothers but it is up there. It has great characters, stages and is great fun with your friends.

The controls aren’t as smooth as I expected, but it was a good value for the money as long as you find it on sale. It is the same style of game as super smash brothers

Surprised to see availability in stores!! Problem is everyone is waiting for the next Super Smash Bros but that’s 6 months away & this is a good game regardless for you brawler fans!

Funny colorful nice characters and great fighting styles

This game is a good game to play for a short period of time not meant for extended game play for hours. But its fun to keep you busy for a nice 30 to 45 mins.
