Buttons need an upgrade
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is overall, NICE. But having it for a few months made me realize I absolutely despise the buttons. Sometimes I have to press the START button 3x in order for it to go. Also, the dial isn’t precise either. When turning it to set temperatures and choosing a specific function, you need to do it slowly, or it’ll just keep going. I also don’t like that it doesn’t have a thaw or dehydrate option. Lastly, the door closes fast. Design is nice, and it really does an excellent job. But for the money paid, it should have better buttons.

Versatile functional
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I’ve had it for 2 days and really enjoy it. It is the right size, very easy to use and versatile. I only rated 3 stars because while cooking I had a screw pop off and land in my food. I wonder if that is an indication of the quality of the build. I sure hope not

Crisp Results! ~ after a small learning curve ~
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Been using this Breville for a few months. Love how it fits my kitchen and it’s a beast for air frying and everything else! Fries come out super crispy. Replaced my microwave. Only downside, the settings took a bit of trial & error to get used to. Worth the buy though.

Very Disappointed. in Breville
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I ended up returning two of these ovens within hours of opening each purchase. The oven door did not shut properly, it left a big gap between the unit and the door. Both ovens were from the same batch, both had the same defect. Extremely disappointed in the lack of quality of this company which was renowned for good quality products. If you buy one, don't get batch 2115 and examine the oven door to make sure it closes securely.

A versatile countertop machine.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Summary - Airfrying capability means one less machine in your kitchen - Beautiful styling and quality - Easy to understand menus and great performance If you are in an apartment like me, countertop space is at a premium so you want to very selective about what appliances you leave out. Over the past week of testing and using the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer I believe that it's versatility and performance is definitely worth the space. The machine that I got is a beautiful matte black color called "Black Truffle". All the knobs and other trim is complemented with brushed stainless and chrome. There is an easy to remove crumb tray camouflaged in the same trim. Included for the inside is standard rack, air fry tray, a pan with inset rack, and a pizza pan. The middle tier rack is used for most everyday functions and there is a magnet that automatically pulls out the tray. There are other classic Breville features such as the looped power plug for easy removable and light blue led screen which displays the menus. On the machine there are 3 knobs: function, temp, and time. The 5 buttons for start/stop, temperature mode F/C, light, convection, and frozen. Operation is very easy - there are 11 different functions you can choose from each with a very human-centric menu. - Making toast? How toasted and how many slices? - Making Pizza? What size? Frozen or Fresh? It's this kind of simplicity that makes using the machine a dream to use. And the machine produces great food too. Bread and bagels comes out with the perfect amount of toasted. Broiling quickly melts cheese for a sandwich. Baking small batch cookies can be done in a breeze. Frozen french fries and nuggets airfry for a delicious wonderful crispiness. I tried one of the included recipes for airfried Korean BBQ wings and they came out amazing! Overall, this is a wonderful oven made better with the addition of the airfrying capability which creates a versatile machine worthy of your countertop space!

Black Truffle Finish is Poor Quality
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The finish for the black truffle color started to chip in two places after less than a year. I contacted Breville and they will not honor the warranty for something they consider to be cosmetic. This is clearly a defect in the finish and it is quite disappointing considering the price. This was a replacement for another Breviile oven and it was clearly a mistake to purchase.

The All-in-One Wonder Solution
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There are many words that can be said about the Breville Smart Oven with Air Fryer, “Brilliant” would be the first that comes to mind. Never have I run into a single device that can do so much in so little space and time. Design: The 0.8 cubic feet of the interior is cavernous even if it looks small from the outside. It's big enough to do a 12” pizza or a medium-sized whole turkey or two chickens. The classic toaster oven look hides the 11 function cooking settings, which includes an “air fry” mode and a slow cooker mode. The rest of the functions include toast, bagel, pizza, cookies, bake, roast, broil, reheat, and warm. The easy to use controls include three (3) dials, 4 function buttons, and a start/cancel button. What's in the box: The Smart Oven comes with 5 accessories that are critical to its use, including a 13” pizza pan, wire rack, broiler rack, an 11x13” roasting pan, and the air fry basket. The box also includes a crumb tray for your bread crumbs. Additional accessories available include a pizza stone, pizza crisper pan, and a bamboo serving tray. Usability: I was highly thrilled to try the air fryer mode, and this was the function I was most excited about and it did not disappoint. I am an ardent air fryer fanatic, but the smaller air fryers do not let you do complex foods. The Breville Smart Oven does, and if you have a secondary air fryer basket, technically, you could double the air frying capability. The cooking Ability of the Breville Smart Oven is very good. It heats up quickly, holds temperature and whatever is put in there comes out very well. I tried Crispy Korean Wings in the air fryer mode and was not disappointed. I later tried the same crisping technique with chicken legs and found them even better than I imagined. 25 minutes at 350F was plenty to crisp the outside by air frying, and yet keep the inside moist… it was just perfect. All it needed was to drizzle on the sauce. I also baked a whole-wheat pizza with the included pizza tray and used the pizza mode. It came out just perfect for the crust is crisp, and the center chewy. Perfection! Toasting bread, baking cookies are something most ovens do a good job at, and the Breville smart oven is no slouch when it comes to browning toast to perfection. It can handle 6 white bread slices, but since I use a thicker multi-grain, It can do 4 slices comfortably. Neat Features that must be mentioned is the auto oven light that turns on at the beginning of the cooking cycle, but also turns on automatically 30 seconds before the cooking completes. If you need the light on, there is a button-up front to manually turn it on and off. I also liked the F/C button to convert between the two temperature values. The convection button allows you to control the speed of the fan, while in air fry mode, this fan is at super high speed, but there is a slower airflow speed that can be manually turned on. Likewise, the Frozen button adjusts timings to compensate for what would be frozen food in the oven. The Breville oven is the first one that I have seen that will reach 500F, not that one needs to use that high temperature on an everyday basis, but it is useful to use it for broiling meats/pies to add color. Overall my experience with the Breville Smart Oven was very positive. I am glad we got this one, as it is perfect for my home office. I find I use the toast, reheat, and air fry modes the most, Pros: * 11 cooking modes, including a very workable air fryer mode * Stainless Steel with Black front, very sleek and good looks * Consistent temperature for cooking and easy to set timer * Easy to clean, non-stick interior. Cons: None so far…

So far... so good..
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Only have had for a short while but the air fryer mode is doing fries justice, and the baking function is great for small items when you don't want to heat up large oven. Simple to use. Was going to get the blue colored version but read comments that the painted ones have issues with color peeling. Stick with the stainless, as over sides/top do get hot. A little pricey but worth it for a quality appliance. Here's hoping the electronics hold up.

Oven on the counter
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, let me begin by saying this IS an oven that will sit on your kitchen counter. It will do more than most ovens and it excels in all areas. Over the past week I have experimented with cooking different things and I will say, all with very good results. Because it can perform a variety of tasks it does take some time to make the adjustments for personal taste. As an example, it will toast bread and the middle setting for toast is way too light for my liking. I adjusted to one of the darker setting and it was perfect. As an oven, I baked vegetables and they came out better than when I do them in the regular oven. I air fried french fries and chicken wings and both were exceptional. I even did some frozen salmon and it came out perfect. I did have to adjust cooking times but you can do that easily while it's running. I am still working on other things to cook but so far so good. One of many convenient features is the light inside so you can check on cooking progress without opening the door. There is also a back-lit display panel that is easy to read and will change colors dependent on what the oven is doing. It is an easy way to check progress without having to stop something else your doing. One word of caution, the cabinet will get hot while it's running. It is clearly labeled not to touch but you probably shouldn't have anything within a few inches of it either. Overall I am very happy with the units features and performance.

Heats up quickly, browns and crisps food evenly
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Breville Smart Oven Air is the first countertop oven that I’ve tried that also includes a dedicated air frying mode. While I already own both an air fryer and a rotisserie/convection toaster oven, my hope was that the Breville Air would replace both if it performed as well as, or better, than either. Out of the box, I noticed that the Breville Air is more compact than my current toaster oven by at least an inch and a half for all outer dimensions, however, the interior was just as roomy, allowing me to fit in a 13.25” x 9.5” baking pan, 5 Qt Dutch oven, or 12” cast iron chef pan. This is great because it gives me a little more counter space to work with, however, this space-savings comes at the expense of a rotisserie function. While I love making homemade rotisserie whole chicken, I’ve found that I can get just as delicious results from a basket air fryer as long as I flip it over halfway through cooking. With the Breville Air, I was able to achieve similar results using the ‘Roast’ function with convection on the included roasting rack and pan. Just select the time and temperature using the dials and pop your food in after the oven beeps to indicate preheating has completed, which usually takes about 8-10 minutes. Note though that the timer will start counting down immediately after preheating has finished, whether or not you’re around to put the food in the oven right away. You can, however, adjust the cook time up or down at any point during preheating or cooking. When the timer runs out, the oven will automatically shut off the heating elements. I cooked a 5 lb chicken for 1 hr and 15 minutes without turning or flipping, and the chicken came out evenly browned on all sides with crisp skin thanks to the even circulation of hot air from the convection function; there weren’t any hot zones that caused any one area to brown more quickly. It also does great with frozen fried foods such as tater tots and French fries. Using the included mesh basket tray in air fry mode, I got perfectly crisp on the outside, tender on the inside results. I like that you can toggle between frozen and fresh, so that the oven will adjust to the optimal settings to cook the food. While the capacity of the basket isn’t huge (2-3 cups), since you have to place items to be air fried in a single layer without crowding them, I did like that I didn’t have to open the oven to stir/shake the basket halfway through, like you would in a traditional air fryer. I also thought it was clever to use magnets built into the door so that the wire rack and basket rack “auto-eject” about 3 inches when used in the middle position and the door is opened. Just note that when closing the oven door, the racks may jump out about a quarter inch when the magnets get close to them. The thing that makes this oven “smart” is the Element IQ System that adjusts power to the top and bottom quartz heating elements to deliver precision heating and optimal temperature where it’s needed for the mode that you’re using. But it’s not “smart” in the sense that it’s WiFi/internet or even Bluetooth connected, so don’t expect to be able to control this appliance from your smartphone or AI voice assistant. It also doesn't detect the done-ness of your food or adjust time or temp. The sensors just help it maintain a consistent temperature throughout cooking. The 'super convection' function is what gets you the extra dry and crispy fried texture and is used in air fry mode, but if you prefer a softer crunch, you can always use ‘bake’ mode with regular convection selected. The only drawback to the mesh basket is that cleaning can be harder if food sticks to it or drips onto the crumb tray below, like mozzarella sticks that melt out of their breading or sticky, glazed bbq buffalo wings, so I'd recommend using the roasting tray for those. There’s a keep ‘warm’ mode that allows you to hold your cooked foods at a safe temperature of 160°F to prevent bacterial growth and a ‘reheat’ mode that will warm up foods slowly without browning or drying them out. Other than that, I think the other features like broil, bake, toast are pretty standard for a convection oven, though note that the broil mode lets you push the temperature a bit higher to 500°F on the ‘Hi’ setting (400°F and 300°F for the ‘Med’ and ‘Lo’ settings respectively). All modes have a range of time and temperature selections except for toast and bagel where you select darkness level and quantity instead. I did find that turning the time adjustment knob for longer cook times can be tedious, since for times under 1 hour, the increments are 1 minute, and after 1 hour the increments are 5 minutes, but it takes a while and a lot of turning, for example, to get to 8 hours if you’re using 'Slow Cook' mode. Also, the temperature knob has inconsistent increments, usually 10° F but sometimes 5°F at inexplicable intervals. Both knobs suffer from the same sensitivity problem where sometimes if you turn the dial to increase or decrease the time or temp, at the end when you stop turning, the setting my jump back one step, for example, when increasing the temp to 350°F, if you stop when that number appears on the screen, it sometimes goes back to 340°F when you let go of the knob. You do have to wipe down the inside with a soft, damp sponge after every use if you really want to keep it clean (after it has cooled down, of course), but I like that the crumb tray is easily removed and cleaned. The manual indicates all the included accessories should be hand-washed though. Other than that, I appreciate that the LCD panel is nice and bright so it’s easy to read, even at night. It also changes color from blue to orange so you know when the heating elements are on or if it’s just in standby. All in all, I think the Breville Smart Oven Air cooks my food with great results and better evenness and temperature control than my previous small appliances. It preheats quickly, is versatile, and lets me avoid using the big oven when I don’t need the extra space. Best of all, it combines the functionality of two appliances that I have without sacrificing counter space or performance, so now I have more room on my countertop and only one thing to clean.

Do I need another small appliances ?
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is definitely a must buy for someone who doesn’t have a toaster or oven or air fryer. Maybe a college student or someone moving into an apartment or a couple who is getting married they should have this on their wedding registry. For the past few days I have toasted, baked and air fried multiple things. Each time it came out perfect. There is a “cookie” function which we tried. It came out soft a chewy in the middle with a crispy crust on the outside. Frozen pizza cooked evenly with no issue. But I have to say the best function is the air fryer. Sweet potato fries came out perfect. It’s a must try. I guess the question is do I need another small appliances. I would say yes. This would make a perfect birthday or Christmas gift. Plus a lot of us are staying home right now. Why not take up cooking ?
