    My go to appliance

I got the Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer to hopefully replace a few items in my kitchen. To be honest one of those items was a name brand convection toaster oven. I am amazed at the difference with this one!!! Unlike my previous one I was able to successfully bake a batch of sugar free brownies and they came out perfectly cooked! I am able to air fry larger amounts of food without having to drag multiple appliances out! They were very thoughtful with the included accessories! It came with a baking rack, pizza pan, roasting pan with rack and a shelf sized air fry basket!!! The pizza pan has worked well as a cookie sheet when making premade cookie dough. The door has a permanent guide on it to assist you in knowing which shelf position is best for different cooking. The included instruction booklet is extremely thorough, it even gives you hints like putting the shelf in the middle location for better baking of certain things like cookies, brownies and cakes. While this oven can handle a lot of food it is very compact in size. I like the fact that the crumb tray is at the bottom and slides out with the door closed so there is no worries about getting the crumbs in the door crack. The middle shelf position allows the shelf to slide out part way when the door is open which is nice for checking food or even removing it. There are little magnets on the door that facilitate this. It seems to preheat in every function that I have used so far which is actually pretty quick. It is very quiet during operation just a brief rev up (maybe 5 seconds) and then virtually silent. The alarm to let you know it is ready for you to put food in or when it is done cooking is awesomely loud! My last one was so quiet I could be standing there next to it waiting and still miss it! This one you can hear over a conversation or in another room! So far the only drawback to this oven is the fact that the outside does get very hot so you have to make sure it is not under any cabinets or near anything. If I had small children this would be a bigger concern to me as I do pull it out to the edge of the counter while in use. Also the light can be turned on in the oven but it doesn’t stay on during cooking which for me is a negative but to others it may not be important. The control screen is a blue color and visible when not in use and gets brighter and turns orange during use.

The Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer is so well-designed, functional and easy to use that it could be your only oven, while also replacing a toaster and air fryer, if you live in a studio apartment. I tested this Breville oven making steak and cheese nachos, and it preheated much quicker than my wall oven; the nachos were cooked perfectly and evelnly in 5-6 minutes. It reheated take-out pizza flawlessly in just a few minutes and air-fried French Fries beautifully. I also made Teriyaki-glazed salmon, and it cooked perfectly even. I look forward to using this Breville Smart Oven regularly. Pros: - beautiful design, fit and finish - intuitive to use - large, clear digital readout - presets for different functions, such as toast, bake, reheat, air fry, etc. - bright oven light automatically turn off in a few minutes - magnets on the door pull the rack out a couple inches if rack is in the middle position - large enough to cook a 13-inch pizza, a whole chicken, roast, or a large casserole - comes with multiple cooking racks and pans, including a baking/broiler pan with broiler rack; 13-inch pizza pan; air fryer basket; and baking rack. - three rack height settings for broiling, air frying and baking - baking rack and air fryer basket lock into the channel, to avoid you pulling hot food out and spilling it accidentally - mesh air fryer basket is larger than stand-alone air fryer baskets - appliance cord is adequate length and has a hole so you can pull it out easily. Cons: - none I recommend this Breville Smart Oven and Air Fryer. I like it so much that I bought one for a wedding gift for a family member!

    It Does Everything

After listening to all my friends talk about how great air frying was, I decided to give it a try. But why get a dedicated air fryer when you can get the Breville Smart Oven that does that and anything else you'd ever want to make in a conventional oven. First things first, this is a pretty big appliance. It will take up a lot of space on your counter, but you can sell your toaster, pizza maker, cookie maker, broiler. This thing creates space in your kitchen I haven't tried all the functions yet, mostly just air frying and toasting. As an air frying newb, it was pretty easy. Change the setting to air fry and the Breville quickly comes up to temperature. Place your food in the basket, adjust the timer and wait. Once your food is done, open the door and the spring loaded basket slides forward so you don't have to reach all the way in to retrieve the basket lowering your chances of burning your hand. I really liked that feature. One other fun bit that probably won't get noticed all that often is the ring on the power cord to make unplugging it easier. I imagine this will stay on the counter, but for those who will unplug it and store it out of site this is a nice feature. I can see many uses for this, but it would be perfect for a college dorm instead of a microwave. The food will turn out so much better. You can make pizza, wings, poppers, reheat leftovers, frozen pizza...where does it stop?

This machine is amazing. Its the perfect size for my countertop and the color and design. I've had this Breville for about a week. During the time I have used it I have been blown away with the results. Its full of useful features and presets. Makes the cooking experience easy and hassle free. Since I've had it, it been a staple in my everyday cooking. My large oven has gotten jealous! The airfry feature is awesome. It cooks food quick and even without drying it out or burning. My frozen fries have never tasted this good! The amount of space you have in this oven is crazy. You can airfry tons of food without having to do multiple batches. The toast feature makes the most even and perfect toast I've ever had! All you do is set the toast preset and the amount of slices and it calculates for you, its a no brainer. The Reheat worked perfect for my left over pizza making it crispy and and not overcooked. The only issue I have with this machine is that I wish I had a way to put the tray in without having to use the rack to hold it. Its a minor thing but i would like to put the tray underneath my rack in case of drippings or airfrying with my basket. Other than that, it pretty much perfect. It can handle anything you throw at it, and you will wonder why you ever used the large standard oven.

Good Smart oven with cleanup issues

I thought this would be a good way to consolidate some appliances since I love to air fry, bake and broil. This unit will do that and more in a relatively small footprint. Controls are simple to use and has no connection to the internet or an APP unlike most appliances these days. Time and temperature settings are automatically suggested based on what you want to cook. Either setting can be easily changed. One noticeable miss is that there is no clock on the panel. First I used it to air fry chicken wings according to a supplied recipe card using the roasting pan and the wire grate. I would consider it a success. Next we tried chicken legs the same way. I can make enough for two people and have some room to spare, but not much. Both items came out nicely browned and juicy inside. Now the bad part is that cleanup is really a chore after making chicken that spits all over. While cleaning the first thing you notice is that the internal light will not stay on making it hard to see what you are doing. Cleanup of the inside top of the oven ( behind the top heating elements ) is almost impossible. I don't see a way to clean this area. Right now it is greasy. Cleaning the sides and bottom is a lot easier since there are no access issues and the walls have a non stick coating. Accessories include a fry basket for items that do not drip, a pizza pan and a roasting pan with a wire rack. It is advised to NOT clean these items in a dishwasher. I have made frozen waffles and toast but there was smoke due to the grease from the aforementioned chicken dinner. A normal toaster would have been faster for both items. I look forward to trying air frying with items that don't drip and spit creating a cleanup mess. I'm sure the oven will perform well. I will also try the slow cook function. Of course the first meals I made created a cleanup mess but that should not totally detract from the usefulness of this smart oven but it is something a user should know about before purchasing.

Hi tech unit but very easy to use. Has great features, many have not been seen before but are useful. It is where we do most of our general cooking. It's a plus to our kitchen. A bit pricey but worth it.

The Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer was my first introduction to convection cooking. In the week I had to test the unit, I made pizza, different kinds of toasted bread, seasoned french fries, corn dogs, brownies, and two different preparations of pork chops; they all turned out wonderfully. I was a bit worried that convection cooking would cause dehydration (based on what I read), but thankfully I didn’t experience this issue. As someone who uses a microwave frequently, I really appreciated the time savings that convection cooking affords over a traditional oven or toaster oven. I was a bit surprised, however, at just how variable these time savings are; it seems convection cooking requires a bit more attentiveness than conventional cooking. The results I achieved with this oven, combined with its versatility, will likely result in me eating more fresh home-cooked meals in the future than would otherwise have been the case. [ Pros ] - The wide range of functions offers great flexibility. - Pizza pan, wire rack, broiling rack, roasting pan, and air fry basket were all included. They can all fit in the oven simultaneously for easy storage. - The unit is of a good size that accommodates most small-scale cooking without being too bulky. - Has reduced heat generation and power consumption compared to more traditional alternatives. [ Cons ] - Pulling the front door down causes the crumb tray to partially pull out which is a nuisance when repeatedly checking on the status of the food inside. - The inside light turns off automatically after a short time, with no apparent way to keep it on. It would be nice if the light button would be a toggle with no timer, which would help when cleaning or keeping a close eye on food status. - The convection fan is surprisingly loud. - The manual lacks general direction in how the temperature and duration should be adjusted—with or without convection enabled—when following recipe/product instructions for conventional ovens.

I am very impressed on how well this air fryer/oven worked. I am a busy mom and don’t have time to wait for hours to cook a meal. I need quick and simple. I also need appliances that work well. Pizza is definitely a once a week thing in my home. I used this air fryer to cook frozen pizza rather than putting it the oven, I was very pleased with the outcome. I got an all around evenly cooked pizza with the crust being just crispy enough for my kids. Also used this for chicken nuggets and fries. Everything came out cooked well. Easy to use, pre-set settings depending on what your cooking. I haven’t tried cooking anything like a whole chicken but I am excited to try. I think anyone who has a large family would benefit from having this appliance in their kitchen. It takes the guessing game out of the way, limits having to use a regular oven and cuts cooking time down all with cooking the foods properly. I am truly happy with the performance of this air fryer.

Excellent oven, air fryer and much more. This is my second Breville Oven. I had my first one for 10 years. The air fryer feature was not offered at that time. I've been very happy with the additional feature. Makes great wings, fries and fried chicken. I would recommend this product to my friends and family.

The smart oven is very versatile appliance as it does a number of things which are not available in usual counter top ovens. These additional things are "slow cooking", "dehydrating" and "air frying". So, if you want a single appliance to do it all and do really well, this is what you want to go with. We have used it for a number of things in past one week and everything has come out good. We made cookies which came out crisp on the outside and soft and chewy in the center. The morning toasts were browned evenly. The frozen pizza came out good too. We haven't used the slow cooking or dehydrating mode. But the air fry mode works pretty well too. We have used it to make fries, fritters and grill chicken. All have come out good. So, overall this is a good appliance that does a lot and you can replace multiple appliances with this one. But it comes at a price tag so if you are not going to use all these extra modes of cooking, you might not find it worth the money.

I had the larger Breville in my former home, but am finding that this new smaller version is fulfilling most of my needs (don’t think it will bake a lasagna for 20, but it’s worked perfectly for everything else!).

Versatile, many features which work well. We've replaced our "egg" air fryer with this one -- wonderful. Toast, Bagels, baking, convection -- every feature gives us the capability to adjust the heat, time to cook -- the result -- with a little experience, we've dialed in our favorite foods, cooked to perfection.

The control panel went out on my 4.5 year old Jenn-Air wall oven! (Warning - Jenn-Air used to have a great product. My previous stove (also jenn-Air) was 38 years old and still working when we remodeled our kitchen. Now this appliance line is owned by Whirlpool and apparently things have changed A LOT). Rather than replace it with something else that would only last a few years I decided to go smaller and spend less money. It heats up faster. I have only used the bake feature so far -and the warm. I need to start learning the air fry feature. I am still experimenting but so far I have learned that I need to turn the temperature down 15 to 25 degrees lower than what a recipe recommends as the things I am baking start getting very brown on top when there is still half of the baking time left! Also had to get some new pans as a 9 x 13 cake pan or cookie sheet with handles does not fit inside the oven. New pans are working great though!
