It’s intimidating at first but actually easy when you get this one with the auto tamper. I’m well caffeinated all the time!

I use it everyday to make americanos and for the hot water dispenser. Quality of the unit is phenomenal and great design. My only regret with not buying the digital version is the trouble I have locking in the grind settings. I feel like I find my groove and then the next bag of coffee I’m back to trying to find the right settings again.

The auto tamp feature is awesome because it prevents mess but the sensor doesn't always detect when its been tamped and it regularly overfills. never was able to figure out the manual dose feature. wastes alot of water before steam begins. removing the grinder parts to maintain and fix is way too dificult and needs to be re-engineered.

A little bit of a learning curve with the grinder and built in tamper. The dosing is a little weird sometimes but fairly consistent. Steam power is great and overall very happy with the purchase.

This is the second Breville I've owned, and this one takes the cake. The tamping mechanism makes this super easy to use, without a bunch of add-ons to make a great espresso.

You can really fine tune almost everything about your espresso, the fineness of the grounds, how much is ground up, how long the extraction takes, it’s amazing, you can really get the perfect cup. The steamer is awesome too along with the hot water dispenser. My wife and I have always tried buying the cheap hundred dollar “espresso makers” from other stores and nothing quite reached the quality we were looking for until we went with this and we’re definitely happy we did! It feels like we’re getting the real deal now!
