After that , the toast side on the inner slots started toasting darker than the outside slots. That’s the whole reason we got this toaster to replace an old one that was doing the same thing. Will be exchanging this one.

You can see the heating elements light up on the outside of the slice but not the inside. I called Breville and was told that that is the way it works. Now call me crazy but I always thought a toaster should toast bread evenly on both sides. Very disappointed.

Felt silly spending so much, but I eat a lot of toast. Tried it for the first time today and shocked to find how uneven it cooks each side. Like not even close. Went through half a loaf of bread trying different settings. Back it goes today and won't spend this much again on the next one.
