Best compact microwave EVER… absolutely love the soft close door( no more loud microwave slamming in the wee morning hours ) I also love that you can mute the “beep beep” when something has finished and it scrolls END instead silently. You can fit a full size pasta bowl or plate and size wise it’s unobtrusive . I love Breville appliances, quality that lasts. It’s efficient and nice looking too!

Breville makes tastefully designed products, I have owned multiple Breville products. this compact microwave has a small footprint. But it seems the interior size is bigger than most compact microwaves. The simple quickstart and rotary timer knob are a nice feature. The style and design fits in any kitchen plus the LED lighting makes it modern chic. The quiet close feature is a nice little bonus.

Not all microwaves are the same. What can you say that proves one microwave is better than another? How about our new Breville easy close keeps beverages warmer for a longer period of time. We used to leave the table in the middle of a meal to reheat our coffee. For years we were not aware that our past two microwaves were basically terrible. Our new Breville is easy to use. It even has a cheat sheet inside the door to remind us of quick instructions. Heating food more evenly is very important. Again, we lived with inferior performance for so long. We highly recommend this product.

This microwave is small but powerful! My favorite feature is the potato setting. I have a 10 year old that would eat baked potatoes for every meal if I let him - this microwave makes that possible. All he has to do is wash the potato and put it in on the potato setting and it comes out perfect. Defrosting meat was also super easy and I was impressed that the meat didn’t come out partially cooked around the edges. Melting a few tablespoons of butter only took about 35 seconds. The soft close door threw me off at first, thinking that the door didn’t close completely, but it didn’t take long to get used to and is actually really nice for it to close quietly. That’s a feature I never knew I wanted. The small design of this microwave also makes it convenient to keep on the counter. Highly recommend!

Really nice unit. Compact. Runs quiet. The controls are user friendly. Just turn the dial to set the seconds for reheating your coffee or whatever. The soft close door is really nice. I love the mute feature. No more annoying beeper. Well worth the extra bucks.

This is a user friendly microwave. You simply spin the dial to select the cooking time or you can opt to use a specific food button, which I rarely do. It is also super easy to reset the clock. The door handle self closes when touching the frame and it is quiet when cooking. I own three of these microwaves; one for the cabin, one for home, one for work. I purchased another brand that was on sale but after trying to figure out how to cook with it, I disliked the complicated steps and returned it.

I really like this microwave, it has everything you'd need if you live in a smaller apartment or house. Positives: The buttons are easy to press and the dial for the time is nice and quick. The quiet close door is absolutely wonderful. Even when attempting to be quiet on other units, opening or closing the door still makes a load of noise. Not here though, opening or closing it is very quiet. My favorite part, you are actually able to turn off all the beeps on this unit. I don't know why more manufacturers don't do this. It has a small footprint, so that's really nice for smaller locations, although it is a bit larger than some other units with similar cooking capacity. Negatives: I'm not crazy about how the time dial works. It starts at 30 seconds and goes up by 5 seconds until it hits 3 minutes, then it is 30 second increments. With how quickly it is the turn the dial, going up 5 seconds at a time the whole way would have been fine, but I suppose at longer cook times the few seconds might not matter. The light is kinda dim, but I suppose that only matters if you like to observe your food while it's cooking, probably not a big deal for most. You can't turn off the rotating dish. Oddly shaped dishes that might be a bit large for unit will get stuck when attempting to turn. While this probably isn't a major problem, the constant stress of a plate getting jammed might cause extra wear on motor that spins the dish. Overall I'm impressed, I really like this unit and the few downsides I feel that it has are definitely worth putting up with for the silent door and the ability to turn off all the sounds.

We received this as a gift but the first one was damaged. We returned it to the store and they made thhe process very easy. The new one was delivered to the house and we have been very happy with it. It is quiet and easy to use.

Great microwave. After a long-serving little microwave died, we went through a Samsung then an LG that both quickly died from just normal use, so I splurged on this one, the most expensive one in this size, and it has been worth it. The soft closing feature is very nice, and the minimal controls are easy and intuitive to use. I'm happy I spent the extra money and am now a believer in this brand that I was not familiar with before.

When I remodeled my bar area I did not want a full sized microwave but something that could quickly heat up well, bar food! This is a nice compact microwave that blends well with the environment. Although it is in the bar area the kids and grand kids will periodically use it as well. One of the best features beyond the easy controls and all the presets is the soft close door! Yes no more slamming of the microwave door which is like fingernails on a chalkboard annoying. Yes you can get cheaper microwaves however the convenience of the preprogrammed features is well worth it in the long-run. The standards include popcorn reheat and defrost but how about one for a potato?! I have reheated food and cooked in it and it seems to do a better job than the bigger one. I don't know if it has a "smart sensor" but I don't get the rubbery texture that you get when cooking some things in the microwave. Excellent choice and when it comes time to replace my other microwave I'll be looking at the Breville.

This countertop microwave is as described. It looks nice in my kitchen and compliments my other stainless steel appliances. It's large enough for my needs and heats food and beverages very well. I like the 30 second cook/add button and it is indeed soft closing. Recommend.

I absolutely love my Breville toaster oven, so was excited to pick up one of their microwaves as well. This is a compact model that'll fit in most places with a bright silver finish that should blend in with most interiors. It's really nothing fancy from a microwave standpoint, it heats up food very well, but it has a few features that help it stand above the rest. My absolute favorite is the mute button, which allows you to turn off all the beeps and chimes at the simple touch of a button. As a fan of late night eating, this has been a dream come true, a day... errr night, that I can heat up a late night snack without waking up anyone I would have to share with or ridicule my lifestyle choices. And to compliment how discreetly you can heat up food, the door has a silent, soft latching mechanism so you can open and close the microwave with barely a sound. Outside of the focus on being silent, one other feature that I didn't realize would be so useful is setting the microwave time with the knob. It makes setting the time as simple as rotating a dial, but the best part about it is being able to add time while it's currently cooking with a simple turn of the dial. Most microwaves only let you add time in increments of 30 seconds without having to stop it, so it's kind of wonderful that I can add time in increments as small as 1 second. This is especially handy when I have others helping me in the kitchen but aren't familiar with how long things need to be heated up. I love using a dial to... dial my cooking time down on the fly. In an ever increasingly touch screen world, it feels so satisfying to have a knob to turn. And if you're not sure how much time things need, there's a popcorn and beverage one touch button that makes it easy. Just press the button, use the dial to select what size you're heating up and voila, it takes care of the rest. Very handy if you're working on several dishes, and I find the beverage option works well for soups too. If there's any downside to this unit, I was a bit disappointed the front is plastic. The main body is metal and it's put together well, but for a Breville unit, a metal front fascia would help add to its luxury appeal. Of course, there's always the higher end models for that...

L O V E this microwave. This is how all microwaves should be. You can turn off the beeper, and it closes softly. Buttons are raised and soft instead of hard glass. Dial for time is SO intuitive.

This is a small but mighty microwave. Definitely perfect for college students, a place with little counter space or those that eat small portions or smaller plates. It heats evenly and pretty quickly. The best part is definitely the dial it’s a cool feature that I haven’t seen before and makes it much easier to use. Overall good unit just a little too small for me.

    Quality product - Several oddities

At a price point near $200, this microwave oven had better be superior than less expensive ones. In design and appearance, this is a first rate microwave. Unfortunately its execution is a letdown. First, even inexpensive microwave ovens come with a kitchen timer that allows you use the oven to time other things even when the oven is not being used. This is a glaring weakness if you've become accustomed to your $50 (or less) microwave oven having this feature. Well, this microwave doesn't have such a feature as a kitchen timer. Second, if you are used to seeing a nice clean white interior that allows you to easily spot splashes and spills that happen periodically with a microwave, you will be distressed with this odd dark grey which to me is not conducive to proper cleaning. OVERALL PERFORMANCE This is not an exceptional product - it is a higher wattage than a cheaper unit, but that does not mean it does anything better. Higher power will cook faster but in warming up leftovers, I noticed hardly any difference than what would have happened in a $50 machine. In a test of popcorn popping, at least you can select what size bag (in ounces) you have. This did a fine job of popping popcorn without burn and minimal unpopped kernals. Otherwise, I would not be captivated in the least by the style and certainly not by the so-called soft close feature where you don't have to exert as much energy to shut the door. Having a handle is nice but I've never had a problem with pushing a button to open a door. The knob is nice to add seconds to a cook cycle, but I'm not impressed that this is superior to clicking a keypad to enter in the digits you'd need otherwise. I do not recommend this unit because it is not superior and costs more than other units. It is stylish and that is it. If you must have a look to go into your kitchen, why not buy a unit with real stainless steel accents instead of having grey paint (light) on the exterior and (dark) on the inside? Save you money and shop for other units with a timer and a real keypad and it won't cost you $200 like this one.
