I spent numerous days reviewing many hoods. I also considered a hood/microwave unit. I chose this because of how quiet it is, how Broan is a leader in these units, and the fact this unit has 4 lights on it. It really does make a difference when cooking when you can clearly see the stove. I will probably switch out the Halogens at some point with LED to save power. Suction on this works great - especially when I cooked scallops on the stove - it did a great job getting the smoke and smell out. The dimming light feature is nice at night. I don't use the night light - as no sense in wasting energy like that. All around great buy - make sure you price match on this unit!

Very efficient and fairly quite considering it's taking up 600 CFM. The halogen lights are hot so I will see if I can replace with LED. I touched one by mistake and the pain was instant. It's a great unit. Very glad I got it. Also, buy from Best Buy, They are the best. I had purchased a less expensive unit that was lousy. Best Buy took it back no questions asked. Thank you Best Buy, you ROCK.

Read a lot of mixed reviews and have to say that the negative ones do not really make since to me. This fan works awesome. It has enough settings to keep the noise down but when your really doing some cooking it has the ability to get ride of all the smoke and steam. We cook on a gas stove with a grill/flat iron middle and the smoke from using it is in abundance!! With this fan on high, we have no issues with the smoke in the house. It is a little loud compared to the microwave fans but that is why you replace your microwave fan because it doesn't do the job!! Well worth the money especially with price match.
