    Good Basic B&W Printer

This is a good, basic printer with features that you expect and no bells & whistles to distract. I bought it over the HL-2170W for higher yield toner and drum units (and duplexing) and wonder if it was worth the extra money, but I suppose I couldn't say without buying both. Printed text is very crisp. I have not printed graphics yet, nor do I necessarily plan to. Paper curl is a bit pronounced, but I have no other laser printer to compare it to. The straight feed through function (in the front, out the back) will eliminate this problem when it's a major concern. If you're used to downloading the latest drivers from the manufacturer's site and getting everything set up that way, you might want to consider using the CD first. The wireless setup "requests" a temporary wired connection, and setting up the printer involves logging into the web-based UI at the printer's IP address. If this sounds frightening to you, just use the CD - it should work. Added bonus: this printer works wirelessly and correctly from Windows 7 Professional 64-bit and Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. I haven't given it a shot in Linux yet, but I'll be it'll work there, too, since the OS X drivers are CUPS-based.

Perfect for black and white printing.

I have no need for a color printer for work purposes. For fun, I have a color printer. It's too expensive to print what I have to in color and way too much trouble to change every doc to black and white (my old printer). This Brother 5370DW is wonderful. Quiet, fast, good quality, easy to set up, and uncomplicated for anyone. I use it wirelessly and have no trouble printing from my laptop as well as my desktop model.

This is my second Brother printer. The printer sets up easily and produces very good copy on poor paper. Front to back printing was a primary purpose for purchase which to this point has worked flawlessly. Had the previous printer for over ten years and expect a similar result with this product

    Great printer!

This is a great printer for anyone who prints a lot of black and white documents and is tired of being raked over the coals with with expensive ink cartridges. This printer lives up to its reviews! It prints quickly and somewhat quietly. I say this because I work crazy hours and I may be printing documents in the early morning and this machine doesn't make a lot of noise. This printers print properties can be set to use the lowest amount of toner by adjusting the DPI as well as using the the "toner saver" option. I use professional printers at work and this machine easily stacks up to the much more expensive machines in print speed and print quality. I'll make it easy for you, if you you print a ton of black and white documents and you don't want to spend a ton of money replacing ink cartridges every few days, then buy this printer!

I bought this printer for my house. It is really nice and I would definitely recommend it. Getting it set up on the network for wireless printing is pretty straight forward, but you need to be prepared. I suggest having all your network information together before installing.

This is a Great printer. We use it for a small business. I have used it with my laptop running XP and desktop running Windows 7. Both computers are setup to be wireless and WITHOUT and router. Wireless connection was a bit of a hassle at first but it does work excellent once setup. I did not use the cable method to est. a wireless connection. In windows 7, I created a AD HOC network first, then went to the printers ip address to get it to acknowledge the network.

This printer is one of the best i've used in a long time. The wireless printing and networking are very easy to use. It also allow for IPP printing from remote locations (as long as you have web access). The cartridge lasts a very long time in standard mode and the print quality is very legible. The replacement cartridges are between $90 and $130 depending on the size you get.

The printer was initially hard to set up. I had to call tech support to be able to set it up wirelessly but overall I am well pleased with the speed and print quality.
