I own a brother printer for 3 years now. I teach and was working on my notes to make them more understandable; the sample toner must have lasted me about 2500 copies - great! I was low on money and bought the regular size toner and it lasted me at least 1+ year. I recently bought the larger toner, and I am expecting great results. I have to add that I've been buying Brother brand toners and no generics; my machine and copies still remain in great quality.

We bought this for my 86-year-old mother to use, it's simple to set up, and from which to print. I change the toner for her, and that's fairly easy to do as well. We really like the ability to return the empty cartridge to Brother with a free return label. Except for the very occasional letter, the printer is used for free crossword puzzles we find online. This is where the print quality is really lacking, on some pages it is impossible to read the numbers in the grid itself! Plus we only use the 'official' Brother toner, and get a lot fewer pages than advertised. The cartridge is not inexpensive, either. In the end, however, this is much easier for Mom to use than the inkjet I use with my computer. Just be prepared for it to cost a little more than an inkjet to run.

The TN-450 is the top choice for my Brother mono laser printer (Model DCP 7065 DN) since it is the correct one for my machine and since the toner capacity is greater than that of the TN420. For me the larger capacity is worth the price difference. Best Buy was running this on sale below the price of any competing on-line marketer, so I went to my local Best Buy store and purchased it since my toner is at low level.
