Drum has been working nicely so far.
Putting this new drum in our Brother printer bought in the year 2012 is almost like having a new printer!

Takes the guess work out of shopping online
I ordered this and had it shipped to the store. It took less time than expected to arrive. The product was just what I ordered. Installed it and is perfect. The fact that Best Buy stands behind their promise to get it to me in a timely fashion is a plus

OEM Inexpensive
This printers cost per page is so low that OEM replacement toner is not a factor when looking for replacements. Pages print perfectly. install is a breeze.

For a Brother HL-L2320D which "drum" should I get, there are several listed and not all give specs so I don't know which one to buy but I need to replace the drum ASAP
The HL-L2320D uses a DR630 drum unit.

if the drum has no toner, then how does it produce the 12000 pages of print
Toner and Drum replaced separately. This way you don't waste toner when drum gives out. I purchased toner at the same time, but will not install the toner until machine runs out.

So, if my drum unit is low on ink, do I need to replace the whole drum, or just get cartridges that go into the drum?
Ink is in the toner cartridge (TN-420). They are separately replaceable so no toner is discarded.

What is the function of a laser printer drum ?
Its primary role is to attract the toner particles by way of electrostatic polarities. The laser printer drum operates as the photo conductive unit which serves as the image processing core. Basically, it is a set of parts that specifically work to transfer and paint a digital image right into the surface of the drum. The document to be printed is transformed into a raster image by the computer and sent into the printer. These processes take place during printing.
