I like being able to detach the iPad from the keyboard. That’s what makes this keyboard stand out from the rest. However, I don’t like how the detachable case is connected to the keyboard. It offers great protection for the iPad and they keyboard key strokes feel great. The trackpad is a welcomed addition so that you won’t have to have a mouse connected to navigate. Yes I recommend this and you can’t go wrong if you purchase. Like I said I just don’t care for the hooks that holds the keyboard to the case.

If you are an Otterbox phone case fan, you are going to love this case. It is solid, protective and will protect your iPad like no other case can do. Aside from that, it is also very versatile and functions like other high end cases when it comes to the essentials for your iPad. The keyboard is backlit which is great for working in darker areas. There is a home key, which is great so you will not need to touch your iPad to get to your home screen. The trackpad is responsive and works as well as any I have worked with. As with any highly protective case, you lose some flexibility and portability with it. It is bulkier than others, but protects better than others. The case easily comes apart to use as just a device protector, so that is also handy if you do not need the keyboard. There is also a pencil holder to hold your Apple Pencil, which is also handy. The battery is rated at six months, so this is a large capacity for a keyboard case like this. It connects via Bluetooth and the setup was easy. You will want to download the application to update the device once you install it. Overall, this is a great keyboard. Just be aware that it is designed to protect as well as add functionality. It is rated to protect a drop from 4 feet, so it is solid.

This is my second or third keyboard from Brydge and i continue to be impressed by their lineup of accessories for the iPad. This case takes it to a new level with the Otterbox case that i like because it prevents my tablet from getting scratched up and its as bulky as i would have thought. I like the backlit keyboard and something that the iOS offerings dont have, which is a top row of functional keys for volume, brightness settings, lock button and media playback keys. The trackpad is a nice feature as well, although i am so used to the touchscreen that im going to have to retrain myself into using the trackpad. The case is sturdy and well built and the only concern i really have is when disconnecting the tablet from the keyboard. Im not sure how long the clamps will hold up with repetitive use, but only time will tell. All in all, i think this is a well designed case, with minimal bulk, excellent protection and great features. I do wish they had the smart connectors so that I could do away with bluetooth and keep me from having to carry another cable, but that is a small cross to bear.

The Brydge 10.2 MAX+ Keyboard Case with Trackpad was just what I was looking for. I like using the iPad as tablet most of the time, but there are times that I'm doing lots of typing (Filling out forms, searching a website/app for specific products, email, etc.) and it's just better to have a keyboard. The Brydge Max+ provides both. You have the keyboard, but you can also remove the iPad and have it in a Otter Protective case and use it as a traditional tablet. The trackpad is a wonderful addition, too, useful for scrolling and clicking instead of reaching up and tapping. The batter life so far has been good. Setup was easy. You download the Brydge Connect app and it walks you through a few steps and you're typing and clicking in a few minutes. If you're looking for a keyboard/trackpad for your iPad, I would highly recommend this.

If you were looking for a way to add a keyboard for your 2020 basic iPad and looking for something that feels solid, this is it. I have used much cheaper keyboards and this one feels premium in hand. In fact, the outer protection of the keyboard and iPad cover are made by OtterBox. The nice thing is that the keyboard is held to the iPad by a slip in clip and magnets so that you can use the iPad by itself in portrait mode. Pairing it to the iPad was super easy and the keyboard is firmware updatable. With the iPad closed onto the keyboard, I have no questions if the iPad is protected or not. It’s one sturdy unit together. The keyboard is charged using USB-C and according to the manual will last 6 months. Time will tell about the battery but overall experience using the keyboard with the iPad is wonderful.

I was an early adopter of the first Brydge keyboards. I own at least 3 of their keyboards, 2 for iPads and 1 for a Microsoft Surface Pro (1st gen). I've always been pleased with the performance, comfortable typing position and response of the keys when typing. Everytime I upgraded to a new gen iPad I'd immediately order a new Brydge for it. I never liked the Apple iPad keyboards because they seemed too flimsy for my taste. For early gen iPads I used a compact Mac bluetooth keyboard but it wasn't a thin solution. It worked but not ideal. I never liked the other brands of 3rd party keyboards. Most also feel flimsy and don't have great tactile feedback. The new version for gen 6 and 7 iPads incorporates a few improvements over all previous versions. How about a trackpad? This has got one. I still have a tendency of reaching up to the screen but if you normally use a laptop's trackpad you will feel right at home. It's a nice touch, no pun intended, and a great value added feature over the competition. The trackpad has a smooth texture, uses two finger gestures for easy swiping from screen to screen and it also has the typical lower corners with tactile clicking (left and right mouse clicks). The top row a home key, lock key, backlight control key, screen lighting control, media control keys including volume. Standard Apple style keyboard for the rest of it… with the CTRL, Option and CMD keys. They may be a little close together and a bit smaller for some folks with big hands but since size is controlled by the width of the iPad going bigger isn’t really practical. This keyboard has great three levels of intensity backlighting controlled by a key on the top row. You can fine tune the lighting for your tastes making it easy to find keys in low light. The biggest draw to this solution for me was the incorporation of an Otterbox case for the iPad with the removable keyboard acting as a screen protector. BRILLIANT! Instead of the other Brydge keyboards having a tight fit attachment the keyboard requires the iPad to be inside of Otterbox case and the iPad and case slide out with easy force but not too easy for it to disengage unexpectedly. The Otterbox case also incorporates a pen sleeve if you use an Apple pen. If you don’t use the pen the sleeve is easily removed by compressing it and sliding it off of mounting tabs. The other thing I like about this version is there are indents on the Otterbox that align with the Brydge keyboard mounts. Past keyboards the alignment was a first stab at it and then adjust as necessary. Not anymore. I loved the original Brydge keyboards and didn’t think they could improve on them but I was wrong. They made major improvements making it the perfect iPad (6th and 7th gen 10.2”) companion.

Case/Protector to turn your Ipad into a Laptop

The Brydge 10.2 MAX+ is a wireless keyboard case combo for the Apple iPad. Its essentially an otterbox case with keyboard attached. The case is in two magnetically interlocking parts which allow you to use the iPad independently of the keyboard while still retaining exterior protection (the screen is obviously free). The case is standard black plastic with a grey textured pen/stylus loop at the top. It's a pretty tight fit to the iPad so you're really relying on the plastic for drop impact protection. Relative to the iPad screen, there very little lip so a fall with just the case that lands flat will still result in impact to the screen. The edges do have some rubber so there's some additional protection there for drop impact. Still, you'd need to hope an edge strike results in it flipping onto the back (or that you have the keyboard portion attached) There are cutouts for the usual - speaker, mic, camera, etc. The iPad can be protected with just the case alone while used as a tablet. The keyboard section is similarly hard plastic. It's a full mac keyboard (all normal keyboard keys) with some iPad specific function keys. It has two rectangular magnetic tabs that slot into the case when used in keyboard mode. And the two must be mated to use the keyboard. You can't prop the iPad+case up and use the keyboard as a pure wireless keyboard. The "wireless" here is standard bluetooth. Work flawlessly for the most part but there can be some lost keystrokes or swiping if it goes to sleep which it will need to do periodically to preserve the keyboard battery. While one may still be able to claim things are "thin" with the case, the keyboard definitely adds bulk and some weight. While still lighter, it's definitely mini laptop territory. The trackpad is a decent size, actually comparable to the the one on my dell laptop. Key travel is ok to a bit shallow. Combined with the keyboard being necessarily limited by the size of the iPad, there's just no getting away with knowing that you're working on a slightly constrained keyboard. The layout being identical to a regular laptop does help as it eliminates needing to learn a slightly wonky alternative placement of arrow or shift keys. Making everything fit does come with an additional cost - reduced spacebar size. While the spacebar relatively speaking is medium keyboard length (5 keys), the smaller key size and keyboard being cramped do make it a bit trickier to hit in the instances where you'd target the spacebar with your right thumb. The keyboard allows for the iPad to take on more than just a single upright orientation. And its here that the weight has some benefit - this keyboard feels much better balanced than others I've used with the iPad. You don't have this instinctual fear that one wrong move would have the "screen" portion flipping the whole thing off your lap. The keys are also backlit with some adjustment but I mostly tend to use those in either full ON (in the dark/low light) or OFF. After a couple days of use, my impressions are that this is great for someone who will primarily use their iPad as a mini laptop or is more of a power user. The weight means of the keyboard/case combo and relative lack of shielding for the screen suggests someone who is biased toward a tablet experience won't be as happy with this choice. You'd want something with a lighter keyboard that could flip to the back and case/protector that provides a bigger lip and stand.

Well built quality case and fit don't have to worry if you drop this case provides outstanding protection. IPAD fits easy into clamps. I find it a little stiff when closing but my grand daughter is very well pleased and has no problem closing or removing case. I especially like the back lit keyboard works better than than expected when I can pry it away from my grand daughter who absolutely loves it. Worth every dollar highly recommend this you can't go wrong.

The trackpad feels really bad to use

I have to say, I was expecting more. The case looks nice, I suppose, but it feels oddly flimsy. On top of that, it's not very well-balanced, and nor does it have any feature to counter that. Half the time when I set it down the thing starts tipping over. On top of this, it doesn't use the connector on the side of the iPad and instead relies on Bluetooth. The case around the iPad itself feels sturdy enough, but the rest of it just seems oddly designed. Another big issue is that the trackpad just feels bad. I'm not sure if Brydge's hardware is more to blame or if Apple's software is, but it's almost unusable. Half the time when I click it brings up the long-press menu, and gestures feel a little sluggish. Even Android has better trackpad and mouse support than... whatever this is. It's... it's just bad. I'm not impressed at all with this case, but there are a few things done well. Aesthetically, it looks nice. Additionally, despite using Bluetooth the keyboard seems to integrate with iOS just fine - I haven't noticed any of those annoying mistypes or double-presses when using the keyboard that I usually see with any other Bluetooth keyboard on nearly any platform. The backlight is really nice to have as well, since it doesn't leave me wondering where I'm putting my fingers if I'm trying to do work at night. The Apple Pencil strap is a really nice touch, and I'm really happy that the keyboard has Apple key combos written on it instead of standard ones. So, all in all, I don't hate this case, but it could be better. I suppose most of my issues are nitpicking. I will say that if you're looking for a 2n1 device, this and an iPad probably isn't it.

Great keyboard for your iPad 8th Gen

I had thought about buying a keyboard for my 8th Gen iPad, but after reading reviews decided against it. That was last year. My research told me that the only keyboards that integrated very well with the iPad was Apples own keyboard. The Brydge 10.2 works great. I’m so glad that I waited. This is a great keyboard. I have no complaints with this keyboard. The keys feel nice and the battery seems to last a long time. The touchpad is pretty big and responds very well. the keyboard is backlit so you can easily use it in the dark. The iPad clips into the hinges and folds closed firmly. It should protect the iPad pretty well. There is also a loop attached to the case so you can slide your iPad pencil into it if you have one. The hinge seems pretty durable and holds the iPad securely and holds whatever angle you put the ipad at very well. it turns your iPad into a miniature laptop that works pretty seemlessly. If you are thinking about getting a keyboard for your iPad, this one is a great option.

The Brydge 10.2 MAX+ Keyboard Case with Trackpad for Apple iPad (8th & 7th Gen) transform your iPad into a portable laptop. The Otterbox case protects the iPad, while the attached keyboard makes typing and touchpad mouse pad makes typing and mouse control more intuitive like a standard laptop keyboard. Do note that your iPad needs to have the latest iOS firmware to be able to update the Brydge 10.2 MAX+ Keyboard Case with Trackpad for Apple iPad (8th & 7th Gen) firmware. My little iPad user loves it! The display angle doesn't require an additional stand, viewing angles are similar to a standard laptop. It is connected via Bluetooth. You can easily remove the iPad if you wanted to use an iPad in standard mode and it is still in a protected case. Overall, it is a very nice addition/add on to any 7th/8th gen iPad!

I love my iPad, it is definitely my most used tech, that is not work-related. That being said, I’ve never had the desire to spend what it costs to upgrade to the iPad Pro… this bridges that issue! The fact that it’s an otter product is super apparent in that it is build like a brick and I truly feel like my tech is protected in this case! All of that being said, there is a pretty good sized learning curve to typing with this thing because the touch pad is super sensitive and if it believes that I may have considered touching it then it will send my cursor out into space. I do not recommend trying to get used to this when you are in a rush but if you have good patience and are looking for a serious upgrade to your 8th gen iPad, I highly recommend this product!

Although the Brydge 10.2 MAX+Keyboard Case with Trackpad for Apple iPad (8th & 7th Gen) was ordered by mistake, as I have no iPads of any generation, I was intrigued by the weight. Unfortunately, the keyboard I received is broken. Whenever you type, the “c” key presses down constantly, so all the words I type have strings of ccccs in them, effectively making the keyboard useless. I’ve tried removing the key, cleaning the keyboard to no avail. I think it would have been better if I bought from Brydge directly, as I’m not sure how to get help from Best Buy for this issue. Otherwise, I’m sure it’s a great keyboard - the case is sturdy, and the trackpad is awesome. It seems durable and well made.
