Customers appreciate the large trackpad and excellent battery life of the 12.9 MAX+ Wireless Keyboard. They also find it easy to use and connect, with many noting its affordability compared to competitors. However, some customers mention the keyboard's considerable weight and concerns about the hinge durability. The overall design receives positive feedback, although the added bulk is a recurring point of discussion.

One of the best things available for your iPad Pro

This is one of the coolest products I’ve had the pleasure of using in a while, I’ll say that. While expensive, this can truly transform your iPad Pro into a full-fledged laptop, which I never felt like before.
Unboxing the Brydge MAX+ keyboard was easy and straightforward. Connecting to your iPad is also easy and straightforward: simply hold down the bluetooth pairing button on the keyboard and connect to the iPad. From there, it’s game on.
Once connected, you’ll find that the trackpad acts like a traditional trackpad on a computer, which is nice. If you’re familiar with Mac trackpads, you’ll also notice there are nice gestures you can use that are identical to the ones found on Macbooks alike. This was welcome and really made the device feel like a computer once connected.
The case itself feels incredibly solid and the Space Grey color matches my Space Grey iPad perfectly. This should last a long time and protect my iPad from a decent amount of elements, or in the rare case, a long drop.
The biggest caveat is the Brydge app itself. Brydge states that you should download the app to get the latest firmware update for the keyboard case, but in my few days of trying I couldn’t get the keyboard to ever actually update; the app wouldn’t recognize being connected to the keyboard.
It didn’t seem to affect the functionality of the keyboard as of now, but in the future that could be an issue.
Other than that, there’s nothing else to dislike. I never had any issues reconnecting or the trackpad not working, etc. Sure, the case adds a bit of heft to things when you’re lugging your iPad around, but that’s also a feature for some to know things are protected and feel solid.
Overall, I’d 100% recommend this to anyone with an iPad Pro that likes to bridge the gap (pun intended) sometimes when on the go. It’s perfect for when we don’t need to lug around our bigger Macbook Pro’s for jobs, but still allows us to do quite a bit of work on the go.

The Brydge - 12.9 MAX+ Wireless Keyboard with Multi-Touch Trackpad for iPad Pro 12.9" (3rd, 4th & 5th Gen) basically turns your iPad Pro into a laptop experience. Backlit keyboard with 3 levels, long lasting battery (2.5 hour charge), and good trackpad.
Pairing the keyboard is simple, and the responsiveness is great. The aluminum feel !at he's the iPad Pro perfectly. The entire package makes it feel like you're carrying a MacBook Pro.

Beautiful, Functional and Perfect Fit

This keyboard is super. You do have to use the directions to pair it and if you update the firmware you will have to pair it again, but that’s about the only slight negative I saw.
The feel of the keyboard is fantastic and I am used to the top of the line keyboards for my laptops and desktops. The keys have 3 levels of lighting and I simulated lights off to varying degrees and the lighting was fantastic – easy to see keys with no glare. Will be great for plane trips.
The keypad was smooth and made my use of my new 5th generation iPad 12.9 Pro much more wonderful. I especially like the SnapFit magnetic hold that locks the iPad in place. There is some weight to the keyboard which is very solid. The weight also ensures the unit will hold the 12.9 inch iPad without letting the unit fall backwards, since this style does not have the extra ‘flap’ that some keyboards will have. When you open the combined unit, you will notice that the keyboard will in a subtle way lift the rear of the unit so the keyboard is slightly slanted – great design point and a tip of the cap to the engineers.
I enjoyed all the function keys like Microphone, Keyboard and Command keys. The keyboard will turn off when you turn off the iPad, that’s a nice feature.
There is a small user guide which will show you the gestures for the very large touchpad. Also the guide you on how to pair and update the firmware.
I do highly recommend this solid, beautiful and functional keyboard for your 12.9 iPad.

New and Improved Brydge!

The Brydge - 12.9 MAX+ Wireless Keyboard with Multi-Touch Trackpad for iPad Pro 12.9" (3rd, 4th & 5th Gen) - Space Gray is new and improved from the previous iteration of the Brydge. The Brydge now holds your iPad more securely and allows you to add nearly all the functions of a Mac to your iPad without the cost and bulk.
I found the new Brydge 12.9 Max+ to be the much-needed improvement over the last version. Now, holding my iPad securely, I am not afraid to only trust Brydge to keep my iPad safe, but I continue to benefit from the near laptop-like functionality that the Brydge provides with the full keyboard and multi-touch trackpad. I love this new version and am very happy I have it!
PROS
- Brydge brand, design, and innovation
- Security and functionality
- Fully functioning keyboard
- Multi-point trackpad
- Solid and sturdy construction and build
CONS
- If you use the Apple Pen, you have no way to secure it other than the magnet connection on your iPad... the only flaw I have found.

The Productivity Tool For Ipad Pro

I tried the similar model that they made for the Surface Pro and I was impressed once again. This iPad Pro model basically shares the same features, with a slightly better overall design. The difference is that with the Surface model, it makes it look and feel like a real laptop. To be honest, this iPad model does make it look like a Mac/laptop but the feel is not exactly the same. It is not the keyboard fault though. iPads are still not a replacement for a Mac laptop simply because they don’t share the same OS and the mouse/trackpad acts a little awkward in comparison.
This Brydge keyboard is relatively light, comparable to the iPad and has a sturdy well-built aluminum body. The battery last 3 months, which is half of what it lasts for the Surface Pro model. Still, it’s a long time without worrying about running out of power. It would be great if it shared power with the iPad but it’s a good compromise.
Magnetic case should be a must and it has it, along with the extremely useful – to me at least – adjustable backlit keys. The oversized trackpad may not be as important, but it is definitely nice to have.
Like the Surface Pro model, I found it very comfortable, even on my lap. When I was composing an e-mail or Word document, it was easy to forget I was working on a tablet. I would only become conscious of the tablet when I had to use the trackpad or some other functions that behaved somewhat differently than a laptop.
This keyboard compliments the iPad Pro Max. It follows the same care for details as Apple. My 5-star rating here is for both design and functionality. Although you won’t forget you’re working with an iPad, its overall built is even better than the Surface Pro model, which I also rated 5 stars. I would also recommend it over original smart covers for productivity because it is more comfortable for long hours of work.

Beautiful Functionality

The Brydge for my iPad Pro 12.9 is a total game changer! It has basically turned my tablet into a better version of a MacBook. The backlight is adjustable and the keys are very responsive and have a great feel to them. My favorite thing about this keyboard outside of the build quality is the row of function keys at the top! The only downside is this keyboard is a little hefty but for the added functionality the weight is totally worth it.

Has potential but has its flaws

The Brydge 12.9 Max + is a good keyboard, but it does has it flaws. The build quality is solid. It allows you to attach your iPad Pro to the case magnetically like the official one by Apple. I’ve seen some 3rd party cases which try to achieve the same thing, but you have to put your iPad into a slim case, and then the case connects to the keyboard case magnetically. This one attaches directly to the keyboard case, which is good. The keys have a lot of key travel, but they tend to feel a little slow. Also typing isn’t the greatest because there are times when I am typing and the cursor will just jump to another sentence. I have to release what I typed when I notice it, or cut and paste. The keys have backlighting, but it shows more light underneath and the sides of each key, and not so much within each letter. It has a huge trackpad. The trackpad is much larger than the one that comes on the official case by Apple. The trackpad is just as large as those found on MacBooks. Even though the keyboard is large, user experience isn’t that great. Moving the cursor around is a bit slow and sluggish, and gestures aren’t fluid. There’s quite a bit of lag when using the trackpad. I think this is an issue with iPad OS, because the keyboard connects to your iPad via Bluetooth. Most keyboards that connect to the iPad Pro via Bluetooth has this issue. The official case by Apple and the keyboard case by Logitech do not have this issue because they connect directly to the keyboard case via the pin connectors. When I swipe 3 fingers up to close the current app and go back to the Home Screen, the app icon will jump down from the top of the screen rather than going back to the dock like it’s supposed to. The keyboard case has potential, but I’d rather spend the extra money and get the official one by Apple for a far better use experience.

Easy to connect and fits great with the iPad. The only issue I have is that my iPad is top heavy and tips back is opened at a larger angle.

it feels like I need a case, for the case! It's so nice that I wish I could protect it with some sort of case for it. I know that when it's closed it's protected, but even the outside is shiny and I don't want it to get scratched.
As for usability, the size is great for my giant fingers. Connectivity is no issue whatsoever. The trackpad, I've personally never been a fan of these single track pads compared to when there are 2 buttons on it, but you get used to it and it works.
Really like how it's also like a back case for your iPad as well.
Worth it, and even more so on sale at 20% off at the time of this review!

The Brydge wireless keyboard for the iPad Pro is one of the best accessories you should get for the iPad Pro! It is an absolute game changer when it comes to productivity and allows for a nice and comfortable content consumption experience! The size of the trackpad and responsiveness makes the Brydge keyboard paired with a 12.9" iPad Pro the best alternative to a MacBook Air and a serious contender for one of the best "laptops" at its price point! I would definitely recommend!

I love this keyboard. It gives me the premium look and feel of my macbook. Having owned the Magic keyboard and combo touch this is the best one I have used to date. Easy for me to grab on the way out the door and carry with me anywhere. Highly recommend.

Initially (2 weeks) all was good and I would recommend. Looks great and matches the IPad Pro well. On the third week of owing it, Keys are getting stuck and two are coming off each time i close the iPad. This is why i gave it three stars.

The Bluetooth function doesn’t work properly and is annoying to reconnect when it doesn’t recognize your device every single time. Really expensive product to have to email with Brydge customer service and having to mess with shipping instead of replacing it.

While the design of the cover/keyboard is nice, there are issues. The keyboard doesn't want to stay connected to the iPad. It regularly has to be reconnected in order to type. And with some apps the keyboard won't work at all! Very frustrating! It may get returned if the problem can't be resolved.
