Overall disappointed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.We were overall disappointed with this fridge given the price point and some annoying issues. - The plastic wrapping the fridge comes in has some very difficult and time consuming to remove strips that makes for a bad first impression. - Maybe our water dispenser was a dud but I've never had to push so hard to get the water to dispense from a fridge. We were told it would get easier over time but 4 weeks in it's still frustrating. - The left fridge door is loud and feels clunky to close when the right door is already closed. - The freezer drawer started to not always close properly. Perhaps related to the full ice tray and I'm always having to double check the freezer is fully closed.

Unbelievable

WE plugged in the fridge and waited for 2 days for it to get cold. NEVER Happened. Called to get it replaced and they said it would take 4 months. Really!!! So the sent out a service tech 4 days later so I took a day off work to be there and guess what. The service tech cancelled saying their truck broke down. So I took another day off work. Two days later the tech came and found that the fridge compressor wasn't fully plugged in and then we found that ALL the coolant leaked out from a bad weld joint which I found out was also flammable. YIKES!!! So now I have to wait TWO MORE WEEKS for the tech to get the parts to come back and hopefully fix it. So now this will cost me three vacation days not including all the eating out because we do not have a working fridge at home. Unbelievable.

Doesn't make ice

This is Megan at GE Appliances. We are sorry to hear of your disappointment with the icemaker. The icemaker should produce between 100 and 130 cubes per 24 hours, or 7 cubes per cycle. If you do not believe the icemaker is making this amount of ice we would recommend that you have service on the unit. You can schedule service by calling 1-800-GE-Cares.
