These were on clearance and are socks. Two qualities I enjoy. Plus, I knew there would room in the box with the other items I purchased. Didn't want to waste the opportunity. Reduce, reuse, recycle! I've worn these camping on three different trips. They performed as socks should. I successfully slid my foot in the stock. This was followed by foot/sock amalgamation into boot. They didn't shrink a bit after first washing but have no faded. They are still dull gray, black, and white. Material is thin on these. I do also wear these with my Birkenstocks and shorts. Sandals and socks are usually frowned upon, I know. But you know what they say, "If you don't chew Big Red, then..."
