Total game changer for my caffeine routine

I’ve never owned an espresso machine before, so some things I can’t really say. Like is this machine loud? Well a little, but I know that’s normal to a certain extent with these things. Or is it on the large side for those concerned with counter space? A bit I think, but don’t come here for those sorts of questions. Want to know what a coffee enthusiast owning an espresso machine for the first time thinks about this incredible device and the energizing elixir it effortlessly excretes with exquisite and efficient expertise that elevates my mind to a state of exuberant ebullience? If the answer is yes than this review is for you. I may have a bit more caffeine in me right now that I really need. Set up was quick and easy. I did glance thru all the instructions while reading some highlights but I think I could have done everything except the milk steaming (and that was super easy once I looked at the instructions) without any guidance. Fill up the water reservoir and prime it. Grind up some fresh beans, add them to the portafilter and attach that to the device. Place 1 or 2 espresso containers (you can fill 2 separate single shots at the same time) in place and set your maker to 1 or 2 shots. Seconds later you will have some potent and delicious liquid to get your day going. I don’t want to just glance over that word delicious. Taking the little extra time to freshly grind what you are going to use each time is so worth it. Also the steam wand works wonderfully and I am starting to appreciate the way frothy milk complements an espressos flavor. This counter top contraption can concoct a caffeinated concentrated cup of cappuccino like a champ. It’s everything I hoped it would be. The machine seems well built too. Easy to use as well as clean. All in all I am thrilled with my new espresso machine and definitely would recommend it to a friend! My poor old regular coffee maker is starting to feel neglected, Im all about the espresso now!

Water comes out very slow, and some times not at all. After one day it wouldn't even turn on, and had to return it to the store for a refund.

This Machine broke just after the first month of using it. The double shot setting only produced steam and turned the coffee sour. Trying to communicate with the Calphalon customer service is a hassle and it's been two months since I've gotten any sort of response. For this much money, it should not break so soon. I would spend your money on a different machine.

The Calphalon Temp IQ Espresso Machine has been a great entry point for me to get into the world of more sophisticated coffee making. My final thoughts were that the juice was worth the squeeze. While the first couple of times might make you question if it's worth putting that much focus into your coffee, soon enough, it becomes effortless. I was struggling with the correct amounts of coffee grounds to achieve a perfect tamp. However, I can confidently say I now have an ideal tamp 9/10 times. After perfecting my espresso making skills, I was able to take a moment and appreciate the machine. This espresso machine is as minimalistic and straightforward as possible while achieving excellent results. From heating up to selecting your shot, everything is simple. The steam wand function works incredibly well and heats up fast. The machine also makes minimal noise. This espresso machine is a perfect choice for anyone who wants to get into espresso-making without breaking the bank. It's a simple beginner-friendly tool to hone your craft. The espresso's that it creates will leave you wishing you had gotten into this sooner, saving you money in the long run.

The Calphalon Temp iQ Espresso machine is overall a great choice. The set up from box to espresso was pretty simple and did not take much time. The instructions provided give you complete details about setup, cleaning, and how to make the perfect cup of espresso. The portafilter is very sturdy and good quality. The machine did not come with coffee spoons for accurate measurement of coffee into the filters which may take a few tries to get right. The approximate measurements they provided in the instructions were too much, which makes it impossible to fit the portafilter into the machine. Cleaning the filters is also easy, but I would suggest waiting a few minutes after brewing to get the grinds out. The milk frother works well and is easy to clean. I typically use almond milk for my lattes and it does a great job frothing it. They provide you with a stainless steel milk pitcher which is the perfect size. The machine also features a cup warmer on top which it’s nice. It also has storage in the bottom tray which keeps everything in one place. The machine is not too big and fits well on my countertop. Overall, it’s a good quality machine to make espresso and lattes at home and very simple to use.

The Calphalon Temp IQ Espresso Machine is great for coffee enthusiasts! This machine is small yet capable of doing different drinks. The machine comes with 2 different sizes for espresso shots (1 shot and 2 shots). There is also a tamper to help you set your portafilter. It also has the steam wand and pitcher to help you steam your milk. Another great feature is the cup warming tray that warms up your cup. I like the ease of using the machine and filling up the water reservoir, which holds up to 2 liters of water. The steam wand is also pretty easy to figure out with the help of the instruction manual. I am able to produce coffee shop drinks in under 10 minutes. The ease of the dial makes it really easy to switch between the desired shot selection, steam function, and hot water. I am excited to keep practicing my lattes and come up with different recipes I enjoy. The instruction manual does come with some basic pictures of all the different drinks you can make with the machine and how to assemble them. Overall, I am very satisfied with this espresso machine and look forward to trying out different drinks at home!

Like many people, the thought of having an espresso machine at home is intimidating. After years of having a barista make my espresso/cappucinos/lattes/macchiatos I was so scared to try to do it myself. Well I am here to say that this Calphalon Espresso machine will change the way you think about espresso. I literally made the perfect cup on the first try. I want to share my experience as an average blue-collar American worker. You don't need any fancy bean grinders or expensive "espresso" grounds. Bustelo and some whole milk is all you need to become a master barista from home. The Calphalon comes with an easy user guide to making your first cup of espresso / cappuccino. I will admit there is a few more steps to making a cup but that's where the fun comes in. I haven’t bought an espresso in weeks, that’s close to $20 saved in my pocket per week! Everything about this machine is easy to use, even the milk steamer/frother. Ultimately, this Calphalon espresso machine is a solid machine, smaller than most single-serve coffee makers, and allows you to make world class espresso at home.

I’ve had this for over a year now, and I couldn’t be happier! I’m not a fan of regular coffee but I love lattes, so this has been awesome to treat myself at home. Super easy to use. Reservoir lasts me quite a long time. The wand makes really nice, light foam. Easy to clean. Doesn’t take up a ton of space on the counter. Based on another review I bought a better tamper to use, so I can’t comment on the plastic one that comes with it. This is one of my favorite recent purchases and I have consistently used it a few times per week, so with the savings over a coffee shop it has probably already paid for itself. Highly recommended if you want a machine that does a nice job without a lot of fuss.

Now You Can Make Quality Espresso at Home

I like many people have fallen under the espresso spell, it's quicker and more potent and the ability to do it yourself at home seemed like the perfect alternative to the long Starbucks line. With that being said, the instructions themselves are lengthy and upon initial inspection, I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to use this given that I was already going to need a grinder and it seemed like there were a lot of steps. Spoiler alert, there are a lot of steps and even after having this for some time, I am still learning a bit in order to get a perfect shot or two. Overall for a home unit, I think this little thing is quiet and stylish with a nice large water tank to boot. I like that you have options for one shot as well as two as someone who usually gets four as part of their normal Starbucks order. I will say that if you use the frother, make sure that you clean it after every use. Think of what you see at Starbucks, they wipe it down each time and that should be no different here. After some time with this machine, I can easily say I am walking away from the pod systems and never looking back. Overall it is easy to figure out regardless of the number of steps and really brings a new level to my at home coffee experience.

This was purchased as a present to me by the wife on her account so I will not be verified. She got it on sale for 250.00. Likes Easy to use, very easy Easy to clean Great espresso, not settling for “almost” like many machines Large water tank Very well made, heavy and appears built like a tank Great wand, I would say at least as good as the best home unit wands. That being said I prefer to use a gourmia automatic we have had for years. Easier and perfect Dislikes Really none, but the “cup warming tray” is an overstatement. It would probably work if metal but I don’t use it anyway. Note: I see statements of the portafilter being too tight. We experienced this the first time, but discovered it’s from filling it too full. From that point on no more problem.

Well made Espresso, but not when time is a concern

Most important, the Calphalon Temp IQ Espresso Machine makes absolutely delicious espresso! Having said that, there is work involved to achieve the desired end, and so one has to be dedicated and basically a gourmet to repeatedly and regularly use this machine. I own another brand machine that makes ristretto, espresso, lungo, cappuccino, latte macchiatto using sealed capsules with the push of a button. The espresso is almost as good as the Calphalon, at a higher cost per cup, but the convenience makes it worthwhile to me. The work: In order to make the espresso, one is instructed to 1st warm the tamper and the espresso cup by placing them on the top of the machine, which is made to warm both. The cup is then to be heated by using the steam wand and Hot Water setting until filled halfway. The hot water is then emptied as the cup has been prepped. The filter basket is then hand held under the machine group head while hot water flows and then shuts off. The filter basket is filled with coffee and must be tamped down to level, then inserted into the machine, and rotated almost 90 degrees to a locked position. This requires real force as the fitting is very tight. Then the prepped espresso cup is positioned , dial turned and espresso flows (either 1 cup or 2 depending on selected setting). Now the work begins as the the pitcher is filled with the skim milk to a set point. The pitcher must be handheld and adjusted such that the steam wand tip is positioned just below the milk surface; whereupon, the dial is turned to steam. The steam flows immediately. As the steam swirls the milk, the level rises and you must keep lowering the handheld milk pitcher to keep it just below the rising surface. You are supposed to stop once the pitcher get so hot that it is too hot to touch for 3 seconds, and you turn the dial from steam to ready. After enjoying the espresso, the machine must be cleaned of grinds, the steam wand cleaned of milk inside and out, etc. Bottomline: The end product is delicious, but the time and effort were too much for me. If you are an espresso aficionado, and don't mind the time and work involved, this machine is excellent and makes espresso "as good as it gets"; otherwise, I suggest an automatic espresso machine.

If you’re looking to make Starbucks quality espressos and cappuccinos, then you’ve found the right product! The Calphalon Temp iQ PrecisionHeat Espresso Machine is been pleasant to use. I will say I watched a few YouTube videos in how to pack the coffee ground, then use the machine, but after a few tries I managed to make a pretty nice cappuccino. It has a built in milk frothed as well. I don’t have anything bad to say about it so far. I love it!

I was honestly on the fence about ordering this machine. I had been researching espresso machines for quite some time. Quite a few of the reviews on the Calphalon Temp IQ weren't great but I knew someone who had it and he loves it. Well I'm hear to say please don't listen to negative reviews. This machine is great!!! Took a few days to get it down properly, but there's not much to it. Just use good bean that aren't too oily, the fresher the better. I had trouble at first using the frother, but even that is working great now. The coffee tastes incredible and I will never go back to Nespresso and their expensive pods ever again. I never run out of coffee to make as long as we have beans on hand. For the price, this is a fantastic machine. Make sure you purchase a good grinder that can make the coffee fine for espresso. Enjoy!

I am not usually a coffee drinker, but on our trip to Italy last year I became very fond of espressos and cappuccinos. So when I saw this become available I had to try it. First thing I noticed is that this is a very precise and well-designed appliance that is packaged very securely. Upon reading the instructions, I was a little overwhelmed since I don't have any experience with an espresso machine of any sort. There is definitely a learning curve, but after a couple of tries I got the hang of it and turned out some really nice pours. The milk frothing is very technique sensitive, but does get easier with time and is a lot of fun to experiment with. The IQ controls help to make it easier to keep all of the components the right temperature. My wife and I have really enjoyed taking the time on weekends to try to make different concoctions and hone our barista skills. I highly recommend this appliance for anyone that has the desire to up their coffee game at home. It is definitely a quality appliance.

Probably the worst espresso machine I have ever used I was looking at the reviews thought it seemed great not so much. I was doing the initial startup and water was leaking out of the bottom with no grounds in it. I returned it thinking it was a fluke had a new one shipped and here is the same problem it leaks water everywhere and makes a huge mess. The only reason it’s not a one star is because I was able to make a cuppachino it wasn’t totally useless but none the less it was a mess and I had to return the second one as well I’m definitely going to a different brand
