The Raspberry Pi 5 has been an absolute game-changer for my home lab setup. I’m running Veeam backups for my VMs in a zero trust environment, and it handles everything beautifully without breaking a sweat. I’ve also configured it as a compact NAS server with Pushover integration for real-time security alerts, and the performance has exceeded my expectations. I'm running mine headless / ssh from Mac and the setup / UI on Mac is so easy. This kit is a great value and saves lots of time. Uptime: 15 days, no issues at all.

I bought this CanaKit for the Raspberry Pi 5, and I’m really happy with it. It comes with everything you need to get started, so I didn’t have to buy anything else separately. The Raspberry Pi 5 runs great, and the included fan keeps it cool even when it’s under load. Setup was quick and easy—I was up and running in no time. Everything feels well made, and the kit arrived well packaged. If you’re looking for a complete Raspberry Pi 5 kit without the hassle of picking parts yourself, I’d definitely recommend this one. I’d buy it again. ★★★★★

The overall quality of this kit is actually decent for the 160 USD it was at the time I ordered it. If anything is lacking, I'd say the case itself feels a little cheaper than I'd like. If you specifically need a Raspberry Pi5 8gb to do some programming on a board that runs at a relatively lower power consumption or retro gaming, this is a solid choice. You can even flash multiple operating systems to one SD card or have a different OS on several cards to swap between them in a flash. Just a heads up though: Sound did NOT work out of the box with the preinstalled operating system, even after letting it automatically install all the updates, and even after reimaging the OS entirely from scratch when Canakit told me to waste my time with that. Should you have the same issue, make sure the computer is connected to the internet, launch the command box and type: sudo apt update Hit enter, wait for it to finish, and then type: sudo apt upgrade Enter the confirmation to let it upgrade and then reboot it. These commands apparently download the most up to date drivers, which the Pi version of the Linux OS doesn't include in the automatic updates manager. If you don't need a Pi computer specifically, and just need an inexpensive PC for basic video streaming services, web browsing, social media, maybe some lower spec Steam games (It plays some Xbox 360 games off steam just fine), you can get very solid performance with an N100 mini pc running full blown Windows 11 for about the same price as this or a little more.

Excellent Raspberry Pi 5 starter kit. Everything you need in one box. Comes with a 45 watt power supply, not the lower powered 27 watt supply some kits come with. This gives you plenty of power for expansion cards and stuff! Good directions make it easy to assemble and was a very good value from Best Buy.

This kit includes the important parts needed to get a Raspberry Pi 5 project running without buying everything separately. The 8GB board performs well, the case and cooling setup are useful, and assembly was straightforward. It is a great starter package for experimenting and learning.
The product has good documentation and is reliable for executing tasks. I have three devices, and they have been running continuously without any issues.

Not a bad device. Decent processing power. Output at 4K is a lot laggy at first but smooths out quickly. Fir the price it’s not bad.

This is an excellent kit to get any kind Linux based project started. Everything is in the box and looks great once assembled, very clean. I’ve used my kit to set up a NAS and homebridge that brings all of my IOT controls into HomeKit (mostly).

I'm not utilizing this at present, and its promising for the future. I'd miss it if I had to revert to a pi 3 or 4.

Wonderful little tinker board. I have it running a home assistant server, but there are many more things that can be done.
