Historically, we have had poor results when using generic inks. Typically the ink nozzels clog because we infrequently do any printing. Using factory branded inks we have never had this problem with extended use. As a result, we spend about 2/3 the cost of a brand new printer to purchase the branded inks. Thankfully, we do not need to print too often so staying with the branded inks makes more sense for us to extend the life of the printer. While I'm sure this ink would have pleased Gutenburg, the price would have made him take a hammer to our inkjet and return to his press. Keep an eye on the price per milliter between the XL and standard cartridges. Currently the XL is priced at .81¢ per ml, and the standard is .79¢ per ml, so at these rates it is less expensive to purchase the standard cartridge. To calculate the price per ml, simply divided the total cost by the ml per cartridge, 15 ml for standard, and 22 ml for XL.

I own a Canon Pixma MG7520 Printer purchased on 4/28/2015. I needed a replacement ink cartridge, a Canon 251 Gray, that I purchased at Best Buy and I am reviewing here. My printer performs flawlessly, and a large part of that is that I always use authentic Canon replacement ink cartridges. The ink cartridges last long enough for me. I do a light amount of printing, 5 - 20 pages each week. So each individual color ink cartridge will last me anywhere from 6 months up to one year. The Canon ink cartridges are easy to install without making any mess at all. Best Buy usually has the Canon ink cartridges in stock, and they are fairly priced. It's a combination that works well for me: Buying Canon replacement ink cartridges at Best Buy when I need them.

Canon printers deserve only Canon approved ink

Don't be fooled by 'off-brand' inks purported to be compatible with Canon printers. There is a perfectly good reason to use only Canon brand ink cartridges. A quality printer deserves a quality ink, manufactured and recommended by Canon! You spent the money to buy the 'best' printer, keep your printer performing at its best. It's not worth the pennies you'll save to chance the repair expenses, if and when the 'off-brand' ink fouls your printer's performance.

I bought a Canon printer for my daughter that uses this ink cartridge. I was concerned the ink would run out quickly and be difficult to find replacements, but have been pleased neither has been the case. The first gray cartridge lasted almost a year, which was surprising as my daughter has printed many photos and lots of school papers. Easy to install. Good purchase!

This card has a very fast write speed ,which does not cause a break in the action. I have a Canon 6D and this captures all of the moments seamlessly. I used a 40MB/S card before for shooting a HD video and after 30 seconds or so it could no longer record. I did not experience that problem with this card and was able to record for 20minutes straight. I think the max time is 29minutes before the camera breaks it into two clips. I did not have to record that long so I could not say for sure

I owned an HP printer, actually a couple of them, and switched over to Canon because the printer itself offered a few features that the others didn't when I was shopping for a new one. The first thing I noticed when I started printing was the quality of the picture was better than HP. The second thing is how long the cartridges last. I kept thinking when is this thing gonna run out of ink. Lasts way longer than HP print cartridges

This cartridge is not easily found being the "Gray" color ink. Its needed for my Canon. Best Buy had it at a reasonable price and being able to order it online and pick it up in the store is a great time saver for me. I have learned that using the Brand Name Ink results in less problems and better printing. That's why I use the genuine Ink Cartridges in my Canon.

Anyone who owns and uses a printer will need ink. This cartridge seems pretty small and I do not know how long it will actually last. Some cartridges are available in an XL size, but only may be available in select colors. This is a new printer for me and I'm not sure how long these ink cartridges will last. The cartridges seem much smaller than my old cartridges but at least they are cheaper.

I bought this refill for my printer which by the way I love cartridges are kinda expensive so I don’t know why gray is not included in the package, the only thing I don’t like is when the cartridges are empty the printer will not function for you at all to include the scanning function

Well, grey was a bit of a surprise and I was a little worried that Best Buy wouldn't stock it, but there it was in the ink aisle. Would've been even better if it came in one of the larger ink packs with the full complement of colors, but being an oddball color like grey, it probably won't run out at the same rate as the others. So yeah, it's grey ink. It clicks into place neatly and works just fine.

This ink is needed for the printer. Although there is a bulk package with all the colors, for some reason, this grey color is the only one missing in the bulk package. Very annoying that it needs to be purchased separately, and it is also as expensive as the bulk package. Canon needs to rethink their pricing because the ink is too expensive.

Canon's inks are not cheap, and pricier than some of the other brands. Due to this, I want to get the most value out of which ink I buy. I would recommend anyone looking for Canon inks to get the extra large (XL) cartridges. They save time because you have to change the ink less, and they also appear to be worth the ~25% extra cost for the additional amount of time that they last.

I once learned the hard way by having an expensive printer get clogged up with beyond repair by using "compatible" ink. If one is going to invest in a quality photo printer like Canon, then ALWAYS purchase genuine, new Canon inks. Best Buy has a good selection of Canon inks. Grey ink is especially hard to find but Best Buy always has it in stock or online.

I was glad Best Buy had all of the color cartridges I needed but I was curious as to why the single grey cartridge wasn't included in the 4 pack I purchased, thus a 5 pack? I'm sure there is a good reason, plus on my previous purchase I was relieved to find the XL 250 PGBK was sold separately, cool. Thanks! I knew there was a good reason.

Canon ink cartridges tend to be physically smaller and cheaper than a lot of their counterparts since they have the print heads in a separate module. I do appreciate that there's an XL version to give you the extra capacity as well. I'd definitely recommend this over refilled or off-brand cartridges - it's very easy to mess those up and destroy your printer.

The printer ink is fine as a product, but the value is always hard to tell. I've been told that Canon cartridges can have 3 different amounts: regular, high yield and XL. But try and identify how much ink they represent is difficult and certainly no box packaging will tell you. This is not good business practice no matter how much money they make!

This gray ink cartridge was purchased as a replacement for my Canon printer. The packaging was flawless and when I opened it the cartridge appeared intact. After I unwrapped the cartridge I found that it fit my printer. When inserted, my printer recognized the ink cartridge immediately (as indicated by the lighted red LED. When printing it works.

I have used many different color copiers from many different brands. I find Canon ink and printers to be the best bang for the buck. They are long lasting and cheap compared to other brands. Also the ink is replaced very easily without a long set up and alignment and clean head procedures I use to have to do with other brands.

I'm not sure why this ink is separated from the rest when they know it's needed, but I guess it works fine. Not sure where the Grey is used for my color photos, but I guess that's the process you pay to have a newer printer. Black and white photos will probably be gorgeous when I do them. At least they better be...
