Great Lens on the Go
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great lens for just starting out, or as a standby lens to get up close and personal. I'm sure a full pro would nitpick problems with it, but as a prosumer, I find it works great for professional shots on professional websites and promotional materials. No complaints. I thought originally I wouldn't need a lens like this, but I was wrong. It get great images!

Save Your Money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are looking for an upgrade from the kit lens that came with you rebel save your money for EF 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS USM. The 28-135mm auto focus is usually less than 1 second and the lens has a really nice Image Stabilizer. Also, the 28-135 has a macro mode that can fill a flower petal in the view finder and is very sharp. Most will find that for family photos 70mm is not short enough and 300mm is way too long so you will be changing the lens out quite often, not to mention if you use the 300mm you will probably out of range for your built in flash so you will need a lot of light on the subject. Your camera is only as good as the lens you put in front of it, save your money you will not regret it. Don't believe me try the two for yourself before you buy.

Not a bad lens for the price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. For the price, it is a pretty good and fairly powerful lens. It's able to zoom in quite far, but you lose all elements of depth in the subject; but that'll happen with most telephoto lenses. Once you figure out the basics, it'll do whatever you need as a beginner or semi-experienced photographer. The lack of an image stabilization feature really restricts you to using a tripod or monopod, but it does take really good pictures if you do. TLDR: It'll work great if you don't mind using a tripod, but if you're looking for more portability, get one with an automatic image stabilizer.

Telephoto lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This lens is great when you want to capture things far away and bring them close. You can see all the fine details that you would never be able to see without this lens or you would need binoculars. I've taken animals in the zoo behind glass, and you couldn't tell they were behind glass. I've also taken them behind glass and in a darkened room and you couldn't tell those were my lighting conditions. A must have when you want to capture that far away object/animal, or scenic shot.

Canon 75-300 mm brings great detail
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I liked the fact it was part of a package with the Rebel T2i when we purchased it. . Mounting and detaching the Lens is very easy--just follow the instructions-connect the red dots. Setting the Focus Mode from AF to MF is easy--set the mode switch to MF and turn the focus ring.

Great Telephoto Lens for Beginner
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III Telephoto Zoom Lens is an impressive and affordable choice, especially for beginners or hobbyists looking to explore telephoto photography without a huge investment. Here are some key points from my experience: Pros: • Solid Range: With a focal length range of 75-300mm, it’s versatile enough for capturing distant subjects, making it a great option for wildlife, sports, and some outdoor portraits. • Lightweight: Despite the zoom capability, it’s surprisingly lightweight, which makes it easy to carry around during a long day of shooting. • Compatibility: As expected, it integrates seamlessly with my Canon EOS DSLR, and autofocus works smoothly, though it’s best under good lighting. Cons: • Low Light Limitations: The f/4-5.6 aperture doesn’t perform its best in low light conditions, which is something to consider if you plan to shoot in dim environments. Using a tripod or increasing ISO can help mitigate this. • No Image Stabilization: For handheld shots, you’ll need a steady hand, especially at the 300mm end, where minor shakes become noticeable. This could be a drawback for photographers needing more stability. Overall Impression: For the price, this lens provides fantastic value, giving a solid telephoto reach that’s great for capturing distant details. It’s definitely a budget-friendly pick for enthusiasts or those just starting with telephoto lenses.

Great, easy to use lense!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great easy-to-use lense for photo oportunities containg objects five feet or farther in distance from camera. The lense is durable but not excessively heavy which makes toting it around a breeze. Best used with a tri-pod, but can also take beautiful photos when held steadily. Overall great value for the price!

Great telescoping, better price
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At around $200 this entry lever or starter tele lens is pretty great. It is important to note that getting the most out of this lens really requires a tripod because the Canon Rebel camera motion stabilizers do not really work with this lens. Still it fits easily and seamlessly to the Canon, and it responds quickly, and helps take great images.

This is a great lens for the money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is really a nice lens for the money. I like the zoom on it and most of the features are right on the camera so I don't have to go into the menu very often. My previous lens was the same only it was not a Canon so when I broke it I decided to replace it with another just like it. The Canon was a lot less expensive than the other make I had. When I bought my Canon Rebel, I bought the bundle and it came with the second lens. I would recommend this lens to everyone. It is great for a beginner as well as a seasoned photographer.

Canon EF75-300mm telephoto lens replacement
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was so happy to find this telephoto lens available for purchase because the one which came with my camera stopped working and this replacement cost much less than a whole new camera. I use a telephoto lens mostly for scenery to bring things closer and still get a crystal clear photo.

Great zoom lens—if your location has enough light!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I shoot video often with two cameras, mostly indoors, which means I need a zoom lens that not only zooms far but also lets in a lot of light. I was skeptical about the quality of this lens because of the lower aperture (compared to a similar lens that can go as wide open as f/2.8); however, I was pleasantly surprised by the effectiveness of this lens. If you’re looking for a Canon zoom lens that’s cheaper than competitors but gets the job done, this is the one.

Good lens for mid-distance
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this lens to photograph my daughter from a distance at West Point. I have never used a digital camera let alone a lens. I had no problem using this lens and it took great photos. I could zoom in and pick out my daughter with no problem. I would recommend this lens for a beginner due to its ease of use.

Awesome Lens
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a novice when it comes to DSLRs but I bought this lens because it came with a deal. I've used it a couple of time and its GREAT! I can zoom in 50-75 ft and take crystal clear pictures. You can also use the lens when your 20ft away and get really good close up shots. I'm SOO glad I got this lens with my purchase.

Great gift for a beginning photographer!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this for a gift for my daughter, she has taken to photography as a hobby and has a great eye for detail. This lens helped her to get some freelance photo jobs at the college she attends and has enhanced her work. The lens is lightweight, easy to use and fit well with a slightly older slr camera. Priced right, it was a good buy.
