    Good lens for the price

I used this lens and it is great for the price. Quite operations and a fast focus. The downslide is the 75mm part. There really is a big gap between 55mm kit lens and this lens.

I've always had Cannon 35 mm cameras and lens. When I got the digetal, I knew in time I would get the zoom to go with it even though I have many other good lens that work. The image stablizer for a zoom is very helpful. It's very easy to change the lens as long as you line up the dots just right. Great pictures!

I have been using Canon cameras and lenses for over 20 years. They are by far the best quality made. Canon customer service is friendly and helpful. This is not the most advanced lens as far as the USM or IS but for the price the quality is crisp, sharp and the color is excellent.

I used this for my cousin's graduation to take photos from the stadium seats. The pictures came out great. I am still an amateur so the ease of use for me is key. The lens was a hit and so were the pictures!

I absolutely love this lens. I almost never use the stock lens anymore because this lens is amazing for macro pictures. For portraits it softens the subject in the most flattering ways. If using as a short range lens obviously its not that great because of the minimum focal length. The one thing that is iffy for me is the autofocus. It's not the most expensive lens so I didn't expect it to be. But I always use manual focus just because it gives the image that look. As for the lighting it does require more light obviously but with the right settings not a lot of image graining occurs and you can still get the picture, use of a tripod is recommended but a steady hand could work. For wildlife in full noon sun it's an amazing lens for indoor with varying light it's ok. Manual focus is your friend on this lens which is why the ease of use isn't that high on the ratings. If you prefer manual focusing and have enough patience you will be rewarded!

I was needing to get some close up shots at a Graduation and a Wedding. I was not able to until I added this lens to my case. This year with this lens on my camera I was allowed down on the floor at two High School Graduations. I am not a professional Photographer. But I was admitted just because it appeared that I was because of the equipment I was carrying. I never told them I was a pro and they never asked me. As far as the durability of this product goes, I can't say. Too soon to tell. But I know Canon by their reputation. And their reputation speaks well of them. As far as other products I would recommend. ASUS Computer technology. They are by far the best IBM compatible computer technology in the world.

Nice lens! I'm a semi beginner enthusiast returning to the joy of taking pictures and needed a zoom lens for capturing pictures at a distance. So far, this lens has been amazing. The more pictures I take, the better my pictures will become with all the new features on my camera. I do recommend a steady hand or use of a tripod.

This is a great lense for a beginner who wants to get going cheaply or a more advanced photographer who doesn't like autofocus. Since you don't have Image Stabilization and the auto focus is slow and hard to work properly (Trying to focus on a object with major magnification requires a tripod or a VERY steady hand), Manual focus is almost a must. With that in mind though, this lens works great.

Being a lightweight lens lets me handhold it easier than most telephoto lenses. I can go to slower shutter speeds than with a heavier lens and still get a very acceptable photo.

    Good Beginner Telephoto Lens

For distances from 75-~200mm, this is a great lens and very sharp (for the price). Fully extended, however, it is very soft and because of the low maximum aperture and lack of IS, it is hard to hold it still. If you plan on using this mainly in very bright areas (outdoors during the day) it will be a great beginners lens.
