I bought this lens for my son’s soccer games. The close up are great. I am very happy with my lens.

OK lense for the money but I would definitely opt for the Image Stabilized (IS) version for a few dollars more. I am also having issues with sun spots in bright light with this lense so will be trying a lense hood (not included with it). Not a bad lense if you need an inexpensive zoom but clearly a case of "getting what you pay for".

I use this lens on my Canon T1i and have never been able to get a sharp picture from it out without any post processing of the RAW file. It's not a bad lens for the beginner by any means but it's nothing really worth raving about.
If you plan on making large prints (anything past 8x10) this is not the lens for you. It's very soft when you start getting into larger size images. I really can't stress the softness enough.
Great for a beginner looking to experiment, bad for anyone who wants to take serious quality photos.

This was my first lens I got for my camera and it was a great purchase. I'd heard that it wasn't a good lens because it doesn't have Image Stabilization, but I really like it and it's great for general photography.

Got it on a special. Wouldn't buy it for full price. If your not using a monopod or tripod to stabilize it or if its not a perfect sunny day, its not worth it. Luckily I have both and it works very well in cloudy evenings with a pod. Feels really nice, good plastic.

I managed to get a lot awesome pictures out of this Len but it not Image Stabilizer where you can control the shift of movement in your hand. So my chances of get a good picture are a lot lower and received a lot blur picture due to sensitive hand movement. This will require you use tripod often.

This is a must have if you are buying a DSLR camera. The zoom on the lens that comes with the camera just won't quite do the trick. I like the fact that if I do upgrade my canon, this lens will still work.

I used this lens to photograph the shuttle launch and it had a very difficult time with the autofocus. This was awful considering the event was so quick. I was very disappointed by the quality of this lens compared to other Canon lenses I have. I suppose... you get what you pay for! I should of got the more expensive lens.
