Customer Ratings & Reviews

The Canon EOS R8 honestly impressed me a lot. It’s small, lightweight, but the image quality feels like a much more expensive camera. The full-frame sensor delivers really natural colors, good dynamic range, and the files are very easy to edit in post. The autofocus is excellent — face and eye detection are fast and reliable for both photos and video, which makes shooting moving subjects way less stressful. The 4K video looks clean and sharp, great for content creation and more serious projects. I really like how easy it is to use and how comfortable it feels to carry all day. The image stabilization helps a lot, especially for handheld shots. On the downside, the battery drains pretty fast if you shoot a lot of video, and there’s no built-in flash, so you’ll need extra gear for low-light situations. I also wish it had a few more physical buttons for quicker adjustments. Overall, the R8 is a very well-rounded camera and a great choice for creators, enthusiasts, and anyone who wants pro-level results without overcomplicating things.

I’ve worked with DSLRs professionally for 8 years from both canon and Nikon. I was introduced to mirrorless cameras late last year and instantly knew I wanted one for personal use. After doing lots of research, I landed on the Canon R8 and am so glad I did! It’s incredibly lightweight and easy to use with great picture quality. I took it on vacation the day after purchasing and had no issue picking it up and using it right away. Even my boyfriend was able to take it and had no trouble at all snapping pics. The battery life is shorter than I’m used to with the huge DSLRs and their high capacity batteries but I didn’t have any issues with the camera dying on me. I would highly recommend a second battery as mirrorless cameras in general tend to run through batteries quicker than your standard DSLR. Overall, this is a great camera for beginner and hobbyist photographers to snap up at a great price!

I’ve been really impressed with the Canon EOS R8. The image quality is outstanding, even in low light, and the autofocus is fast and accurate, especially for people and animals. It’s lightweight and easy to carry around, which makes it perfect for travel and everyday shooting. The battery life could be better, but overall it’s an excellent full-frame camera that delivers great performance for both photos and video.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My First Full-Frame Camera — and It Completely Changed the Game! I’ve always loved photography, but the Canon EOS R8 is the camera that truly made me feel like a photographer. This is my very first full-frame camera, and wow — the difference is unreal! From the moment I took my first shot, I could see the jump in quality. The images are crisp, vibrant, and full of depth, even in tricky lighting. The full-frame sensor brings out so much detail that my old crop-sensor camera could never quite capture. I honestly didn’t expect it to make this big of a difference! The autofocus is mind-blowing — it locks onto eyes and subjects instantly, and it’s so reliable that I can focus (no pun intended) on composing my shots instead of worrying if they’re in focus. I’ve also been experimenting with video, and the 4K 60p footage looks professional-grade. What really surprised me is how lightweight and easy to use this camera is. I was a little nervous about moving to a full-frame system, but Canon made the transition completely seamless. The menus are intuitive, and the controls feel familiar and comfortable right out of the box. Whether I’m shooting portraits, landscapes, or everyday life, the R8 keeps up with everything. It’s given me a whole new level of confidence and creativity. If you’ve been thinking about upgrading to full-frame, let me save you the research — the Canon R8 is 100% worth it. It’s the perfect camera for anyone ready to take their photography to the next level.

As a customer, the Canon EOS R8 has been an amazing camera to use because it delivers professional-level image and video quality in a lightweight, easy-to-handle body. The full-frame sensor produces sharp photos with beautiful colors and excellent low-light performance, and the fast, accurate autofocus makes it reliable for events, portraits, sports, and everyday shooting. I especially love how capable it is for video, with smooth 4K footage and strong subject tracking that makes filming feel effortless. Even though it’s compact, it feels powerful and responsive, and the menus are simple to navigate. Overall, the R8 feels like a perfect balance of performance, quality, and portability, and it easily exceeds expectations for its price.

Used an older Rebel T5 for years, so this was definitely an upgrade. This camera takes incredible photos whether it’s far away or close up. The “scene” selector mode is my favorite to use, easily allowing me to swap settings and shoot what I want. Battery life has also been more than fine, no complaints. This camera also takes incredible video at 4K60. As a user of older models, this one is very easy to use and get the hang of. Very familiar functions and user friendly. Definitely would buy another similar to it or whatever canon produces in the future to replace this one when I’m ready to upgrade again.

Great for pictures and video. The customer service and the staff were incredible helpful and kind, Phill helped me with all my doubts. The camera gave a great performance

I had an amazing experience at the Best Buy in Frisco, TX thanks to Ken! He was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and helpful throughout the entire process of choosing the right travel camera. He spent so much time answering all of my questions and made sure I felt confident in my purchase. I normally shoot with a Canon R6 for my photography business, so I definitely didn’t want to sacrifice on quality. Ken helped me choose the Canon R8, and I’ve been blown away by how great the quality is—especially for a lighter, more travel-friendly setup. It’s the perfect backup camera for my professional work and exceeded my expectations. The camera performed beautifully on my trip—I captured stunning photos and videos, and the highlight was when my sister-in-law used it to capture the moment I got engaged! We used the kit lens the entire trip - which we loved the zoom capabilities. Thank you, Ken, for going above and beyond. I’m beyond happy with my purchase!

Still figuring out but so far easy to use..the manual can be found in their website (canon)..I love taking picture and videos, I enjoyed and still enjoying using this camera..

The Canon EOS R8 has completely exceeded my expectations! This camera delivers stunning image quality, fast and accurate autofocus, and impressive low-light performance in a lightweight, compact body. It’s the perfect choice for anyone who wants full-frame power without the bulk. One of the standout features is Canon’s Dual Pixel AF, which locks onto subjects effortlessly, making it fantastic for both portraits and action shots. The 4K 60p video is crisp and detailed, with beautiful colors straight out of the camera—great for content creators who want high-quality footage without needing heavy post-processing. Despite its compact size, the R8 doesn’t compromise on performance. The high dynamic range, fast burst shooting, and intuitive controls make it an absolute joy to use. It’s also an amazing value for a full-frame mirrorless camera, offering features that rival much pricier models. If you’re looking for a lightweight, travel-friendly, and powerful full-frame camera, the Canon EOS R8 is a no-brainer. Highly recommend!

I’ve been using this camera for a few weeks now, and I’m extremely impressed. The image quality is stunning, even in low-light conditions. It’s easy to use, and the autofocus is fast and accurate. Great for both photography and video work. Highly recommended!

wanted to upgrade from a nikon DSLR to a full frame mirrorless camera. very glad i chose this one, as i am really loving it so far. i'm an amateur photographer. i'll say this camera is fun to use and has many different menu options. transferring photos from your phone to your camera is pretty easy too. if you're in the market for an entry level full-frame camera, i'd recommend this one!

Great full frame camera with amazing autofocus and video quality. My only negative would be the battery life, which is manageable if you plan ahead and buy a spare battery. I’m not a huge fan of the included lens because of its aperture range, but it works great outdoors.

good camera，light weight but good quality. Easy to operate

Excellent product. I haven’t used it for any projects yet but have tested it out. Look forward to using it when my courses start and creating videos.

"I love my new Canon R8! I bought it specifically for video, as I'm currently working on a new black-and-white short film. The video quality is absolutely amazing!"

Absolutely fantasric camera, works phenomenal in low-light conditions. Feels very comfortable and preforms well. Battery life is decently long and can take uowards of 1000 or more photos. Ive never used a full battery while taking this out for photos.

Amazing!! I have zero complaints! Its great for experienced photographers, but also easy to learn for beginners. I moved from my nikon dslr to this camera and it’s better.

Is my second camera and I using only for video and is the best

Great camera at its price point. Battery holds up well in light to medium use. I would prefer that they made the grip a little larger a accommodate a larger battery. Great photos.
