Great Camera But Still Seeing How it works

I am still trying to work on mastering this camera as I only got it yesterday. The 75-300mm lens is great for me as I take pictures of birds. Just whish that I could come in closer. I don't know if it's the lens or an option on the camera. I read one review that said they were able to take pictures of a catbird and seagull. I am used to this option on my Nikon CoolpixS9500. I probably just have to read a little more in the menu. I will also need a new SD card because my other one cannot be fast enough to take the videos on this camera. Great Camera overall just pick up a good SD card first and then you're set.
