Great camera for any experience level
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am new to the DSLR world and purchased this during a bundle promotion as I wanted something better than my point and shoot camera. The features found in this camera are amazing. You get everything that the larger DSLRs have just in a smaller package. I have seen reviews elsewhere of people complaining that the camera is too small; I have fairly large hands (at 6'2") and find that the camera is a good size and very comfortable to use for any length of time. One of the main reasons I decided to go with a DSLR is that I like to take pictures of my reef tank at home and it is impossible to get any good pictures with the basic settings found on point and shoot cameras. I also like being able to adjust my shutter speed to take those hard to get photos. This camera has had no problem taking these images. I have attached some of the photos so you can see for yourselves. ABSOLUTELY would recommend.

Awesome dSLR Camera
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the perfect camera for those that are looking for big performance in a little small form factor. I have several dSLR camera's and wanted something that was a little smaller to take with me places where a larger dSLR camera would be the way. I was pleasantly surprised by the camera on how fast it is and how small it is without compromising quality. This camera is capable of taking 18mp images, 5 frames per second, video, uses EF and EF-S lenses. It has a touchscreen interface on the back that is permanently affixed to the camera (I like this better than swivel screens as I've accidentally managed to break one one and it was super expensive to repair). This camera does what it needs to within the limits it was designed for. It can hold it's own against some of the bigger more expensive SLR's, but is also a great camera for beginners as well. I love this camera and highly recommend it. My brother purchased the T5i last year which is bigger and was more expensive, but this camera does everything it can do in a small form factor. If you are on the fence to purchase this camera or not, go for it - you wont be disappointed.

Terrific light weight camera.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed a light weight camera due to arthritis in my hands. Good Camera .
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought it as a back up to my EOS 80D but I became very close to it since its good image quality ( almost similar to 80D) , handling ( smaller and lighter) and sharing the same lens have convinced me to use it quite more than 80D. It does not have all the technical qualities and developments of 80D but it is a great camera.

Q: QuestionWhat all comes in the package?Labeled on the side it says that the SL1 come with the camera itself, the two lenses and the bag and the owners manual. Does it come with a battery being that it is a package? Does it also have a neck strap charger or any software?
Asked by DTMios.
- A:Answer The package includes a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery, with charger; Has a nice neck strap, lens covers and caps for the mounting connections on both both lenses. And, yes, it comes with three CD's (for both Windows and MacIntosh) which include the camera instruction manual, software instruction manual and digital solution disk. The only thing of substance not included in the package is the SD memory card. I purchased a 32 gigabyte card, which should be plenty of storage for my use -- but one can get up to at least 128 Gigs on a card it you choose. It's a good package.

Q: QuestionSports picturesIs this czmera good for high action sports shots? Which features should I look for in a camera that would allow me to take good sports shots?
Asked by TA.
- A:Answer The SL1 only can shoot 4 frames per second which is somewhat introductory for a DSLR. You can use it for sports, BUT you will only be able to get one or two shots off before the subsequent shots will be blurry. I have used mine for my child's soccer game, and if you time it right, you can get some good photo's. However, if you want more than that, this camera falls short. The Canon T5i is not much better at 5 frames per second and you will have the same problem at that price point. If you want to take a lot of burst photo's, the Canon 7D Mark II was specifically designed for that with dual digic-6 processors at 10 frames per second. Overall the SL1 is great camera and it's small form factor make it a perfect choice for something that you can take to events without being in the way. I use mine for everything from quick portraits, to child's soccer games, to everyday activities. I have never regretted purchasing this camera and it's very fun to use once you know what it's limits are.

Q: QuestionDoes this camera take video?I'm looking for a camera that takes pictures as well as records video.

- A:Answer Yes, 1080p videos can be recorded!

Q: QuestionIs this package all brand new or used items?
Asked by rkthepanda.
- A:Answer All new items in a sealed box. The site does not show it well, but this is actually a Canon package and everything but the SD card comes in a sealed Canon box. And this is a great package. The camera bag is well padded and fits the extra lens and camera with ease. The only catch is that you have to put the 18-55mm lens on the camera in order to zip it all up, but since this is the lens I use most often I don't see it as a hindrance. See my review of the product for more details.

Asked by grandma to photog wanna-be.

Q: QuestionLooking for an uprage, is this good?I currently have a Nikon Coolpix and it works alright but it is really slow and freezes all the time. I am looking to upgrade to a new camera. How well does this camera work and would it be a beneficial upgrade?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I think it would be a beneficial upgrade, the nice thing about DSLR cameras is that they have better quality than point and shoot digital. They may seem pricier, but DSLRs don't get upgraded as often compared to your run of the mill standard camera. I have this model and I love it, the pictures look great, there are a plethora of features. If you want the camera to do the thinking for you, you can have it on an auto mode, if you want to have more control of your camera, you can have it so it's more manual. This is a great replacement to a regular point and shoot, without breaking the bank.

Q: QuestionContents of PackageDoes this come with the battery, battery charger and canon shoulder strap?
Asked by Cors.
- A:Answer Has a battery, the charger and a neck strap. The battery lasts for a decent amount of time but I would suggest buying another battery if you are a serious photographer.
