I have own so many cameras over the past years and by far this is the best!!!! The zoom is great, I only use the optical zoom and its awesome still gives great detail to the picture. The AUTO mode is the best, I do not have to be choosing the scene it, the only thing that I do sometimes is to cancel the flash for some pictures. In terms of focusing, It has the option to pop up a small screen so you can see better what are you focusing on. It has the face recognition so that it would give priority during exposure which works great. For a mom of two, highly active kids I adore this camera, it gives great picture and is easy to carry in comparison to an SLR. The only thing is the battery life, I plan on buying one or two extra batteries for trips and I carry the charger on my purse at all times. I guess that's a little inconvenience for such a smart little camera. btw IT NEEDS A MICRO SD CARD I invested on a 16 GB, to replace the two 4GB SD Cards I had with my previous camera.

Light, compact, great pictures. Awesome zoom. Heard lots moan about battery, but had no issues so far with them, but not been out taking hundreds of them, but so far, so good. Great macro pictures. Controls hard to use especially in the dark, would be nice if they glowed or could be back lit.

I wanted a camera that would let me take great night shots outside and good pictures indoors without a flash. This camera certainly fits the bill. I was able to take amazing pictures that were super crisp. I really like that it has a 12x optical zoom--amazingly clear picture even when far away. The camera is light and small and perfect for vacations and everyday use. The only drawback that I discovered was that after being in certain mode, like low light mode, or when recording videos the battery would drain very quickly. On vacation, I had to charge it every day.

I love the pictures taken on this compact camera. However, the battery life is so short that I only was able to take 50 pictures before recharging. I also was not aware that the camera takes a micro mini SD card. Has not caused any problems so far.

The camera has a lot of great features, but you have to teach yourself how to navigate the buttons first - the up, down, left, right buttons are not labeled, so if you aren't familiar with the camera, it takes longer than I'd like to admit to to figure that one out... now I'm doing fine with it, but it's just not as intuitive as I'd prefer. The photos are great, and there are more than enough settings to keep me occupied.

I bought this camera because I wanted something easy to carry around for a trip. I am completely satisfied with the functionality of this camera! I wish that it used a standard SD card instead of the Micro-SD just because carrying around the adapter has proven to be a hassle. Great picture quality and easy to use! I would definitely recommend this camera.

Canon - PowerShot ELPH 520 HS has excellent features for such a compact camera. Definitely an excellent buy for under $120. Camera body could have been rounded a bit so it's not so boxy. Only major distraction is the picture quality is not as crisp as my other Canons.

This camera is easy to use, conveniently stores in pocket, and has great picture quality even when the subject is moving. I owned a cannon elph for 7 years which finally broke after I dropped it several times. I purchased a replacement Nikon Cool pix last month that was on sale but I returned it due to poor picture quality in comparison to my old cannon. The above newer model cannon costs $50 more than the Nikon but I am happier and less stressed with the results of the pictures I take. I was also surprised with the good video and sound quality even if taken from a distance.

This is for my wife, so it has to be easy to use. Small enough to go anywhere

I had a friend who had a Canon with color accent/color swap & I knew I had to have one! I wanted an upgraded one with HD & video & more features than hers had, so I looked on the site & found the Canon 520HS. I found mine at Best Buy in store on display, as it was being d/c. They matched the online sale price & quickly ordered a battery, as the display one was missing, which I paid for & they deducted the price from the camera & the another 10% for my trouble. The camera which was $249 originally, I ended up getting for $99 + tax! I love this small package of dynamite! It has a great zoom capacity, HD video, great in low light, takes the clearest of pics, even when taking close-ups or small detailed items. It has a setting to take a small video clip before a snapshot to put together a video of your day out even! This is the best camera I have ever owned!

I bought as a back up camera. Will be using for beach & its small enough that i can keep in my backpack for every day use. Not sure when something comes up and need it. :) Was happy with pictures. Great price.

User Manual is not well organized. Takes too much time to figure out how to use additional features.

Bought it for my 15 year old to take on field trips etc,. Great "bang around camera"!

Beautiful camera. Easy to manage. I opted for features and action shot capability over pixels. I happily realize for an amateur photographer, pixels aren't a big deal
