Auto-focus is quick enough for me to snap off pics at an acceptable rate. I took away 2 stars because of the short battery life and the fact that it doesn't charge when hooked up to my pc (cable not included, must be purchased). I have to take the battery out of the camera, place it into the charging apparatus, and plug it into an outlet. I wouldn't have purchased the camera if I would have known it didn't charge via usb cable.
